How stinkin' CUTE is this place?! Décor on fleek, beautiful cocktails, and scrumptious tapas! You ain't got to tell me twice; Shayla is ALL in for the Red Window!
Met up with a friend here for drinks after having brunch nearby, and we had a fabulous experience from beginning to end. Red Window is located right in the heart of North Beach, but if you blink, you might just miss it. It's a small corner bar and restaurant but their space is so inviting. They also have a charming little parklet that's covered and heated for those who prefer to dine outside. It was a chilly day in SF as usual, so we decided to enjoy our libations inside (vaxx cards required for indoor dining). Surprisingly, we were the only people in the dining room when we arrived.
The vibes, the viiibes!!! I truly enjoyed every aspect of the atmosphere here. First off, their décor is bangin'. It's bright, colorful, and modern. For a smaller spot like this, I appreciated how open, airy, and spread out their dining room was. They have a tiny little bar top, but it's super intimate which I love. This place has an all around chic and festive ambience that I simply adore. The music selection is tops! They be JAMMIN' jammin' up in here! It's one of those places that will have you shazamming every song that you don't already know. Service was on point the entire time that we were there. Our water glasses never went empty and we were checked on multiple times but not overwhelmingly so. Plus, the staff is so bubbly here. I think they were having fun jammin' to those wonderful tunes too.
Now about those dranks; straight BOMBSY, yo! I admit that I've been off my cocktail game for quite a while now since COVID pretty much ruined that for me. But dayum! Not only was every cocktail gorgeous; they were absolutely scrumptious too. I love that although they're a Spanish tapas bar, they have a wonderful list of tiki drinks to choose from. And if you enjoy tiki drinks, you need to order off of their tiki drink menu. Yes. I said need. NEED to. Like, right now. NOW, I tell you! Oh, you want suggestions?! Mmkay. Their "Baecation" and "Oops, I dropped the coconut" cocktails are both straight fiyah. They make a mean sangria too. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either or. Just make sure you get SOME kind of drink because they are so yummy.
And those tapas! We were drooling y'all. Since we had just come from brunch not too long before, we only got the gambas (garlic shrimp) and the crispy meatballs, but both were so tasty. We were damn near fighting over those garlic shrimp. They were wonderfully marinated and the crostini that it came with made for the perfect dipping bread for the garlic butter sauce. We couldn't leave without getting dessert (well, my friend wouldn't let us leave without -HA!). After perusing the dessert menu, we finally decided on the Basque cheesecake. Best decision that we could have made that evening! Whew. That cheesecake was so creamy. It was drizzled with caramel and had a lovely torched outer layer. Loved it to absolute pieces!
I really wished that we could have tried more tapas, but we were stuffed to the bone! I just learned that they do brunch on the weekends, so you know I have to show back up there to check it out soon. All in all, I am very impressed with Red Window! If tapas, tiki drinks, and good vibes are your style, Red Window will take care of you. read more
