    Fried green beans.

Great place, staff and food. Hungry Man breakfast was incredible. Chuck wagon was good to go. Fried green beans were very good.

Visiting the area ....found the Red Stone Cafe. Glad we did, good food, super friendly servers and fair prices! Definitely a hidden gem!

A hidden gem! The staff are so friendly and were so sweet to our grand kids. The Friday fish fry was delicious.

Cute little out of the way place. Homemade coleslaw. It's a diner. If you don't want fast food try it.

Came for breakfast with my parents, left after a cup of coffee. The thing is, we were lured in by…read moretheir expansive menu, hoping for a good, filling, southern breakfast. But when we arrived, right after they opened on a Sunday morning, we were told that they only serve "what we refer to as 'brunch' on Sundays", and were handed paper menus with five items on it. Slightly confused, hoping we could still order off of their main menu, we waited for the waitress to return with our coffee (three Americanos and one latte). And we waited. And then we waited. And we waited some more. While we waited, three other parties came in, sat down, questioned the menu, then got up and left. Had it been just us that had that reaction to the abbreviated menu, I would have voted to woman up and just stay put. I didn't want to be "those tourists" who get all riled up about something local that doesn't fit their expectations. But once we (finally!) got our coffee and asked the waitress for clarification, we realized we had to go. The menu was the menu. Their sides - which are referenced on the menu but are never explained - were lackluster for the "base" and even less impressive for the "premium" options, which of course would have cost us even more money. That, paired with the uninspired and surprisingly one-note menu just drove us right out the door. My latte was at least delightful, but that's all I can say. Also, the place was likely very clean, because we were hit by a powerful smell of disinfectant and/or cleaner when we walked in. And finally, the waitress removed my menu after she saw me taking a picture of it. She didn't touch anybody else's menu, just mine.

They had bought us out a few little nuggets that was supposed to be fish planks ! Never been so upset with a restaurant in all my life and the price was terrible for the little food we received!! Great local eatery with a warm, welcoming staff & delicious food!…read more We tried their burger & onion rings, as well as the Club sandwich and tater tots. Food: My fiance enjoyed his burger and loved the onion rings. I got the club sandwich which came on warm Texas toast with heaping piles of ham & turkey, and fresh crispy bacon. I liked that they put some sort of creamy Italian dressing vs mayo on it - was a unique twist! The tater tots were PHENOMENAL - they must have been deep fried because they were super crispy and hot. The burger & onion rings meal was very affordable (~$8-9). The club sandwich & tots was a bit pricey for what it was (closer to $12) but was a packed sandwich so I can't complain. Service: Service was stellar - our waitress checked on us several times and we had everything we needed the entire meal! Including a never ending cup of coffee. Location: The place is smaller with less than 10 tables but still spacious enough where you don't feel cramped. During COVID wait-staff wore masks (& wore them properly over the nose) so I felt very comfortable eating here. It's a bit hard to find --- GPS will try to take you down to the funeral home. Keep an eye out for the railroad tracks and look for a corner restaurant near there - that's where you'll find Charly's!

The serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the day. It's a little disconcerting when you pull up to my the entrance and slightly more as you step in the dining room. But the place, though worn, is spotlessly clean. The food that they prepare is all scratch made to order. So don't be impatient it's well worth the wait. My wife had corn dogs and fries. The corn dogs had a wonderful crunchy cornmeal crust that reminded me of my childhood (I'm pushing 70). I had the patty melt that had a very tasty yet unknown cheese that was so melty that I loved the sandwich. This place is a little out of the way but if you are anywhere near Johnson City it's worth the effort.

The pancakes were just ok.... They made the batter as we ordered it so it didn't have time to absorb the flour so it wasn't all that good. He said he would try a burrito next time. I loved my biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a darker color but the sausage was so flavorful and it was light in pepper which I like because I don't like pepper. The biscuit was a really great size and fluffy. The bacon is not thick cut but still Crispy and good, eggs were cooked nicely. Now on to the cheddar rounds..... I try these all over but these are the absolute closest you will get to the Pals version. They were lacking the season salt which would have made them taste like Pals. Over all I was very happy and will definitely be back!!! Also the prices were good (pic of menu (included)
