    You Talkin' to Me Benedict
    Cyndi K.

I find such joy when I discover local places that are unique to the area. I've been to Evelyn's Kitchen Table twice and I have enjoyed both visits. My first encounter was on a Sunday Brunch. I have learned that their Sunday menu changes weekly and that the Brunch carries a theme. The one Sunday I visited was Taxi Driver, movie themed. I had a "You Talkin' to Me?" - Poached Eggs over potatoes and sausage. It was very filling, very delicious. My friend had the "Taxi Driver" burger. My second visit, I wanted to try a salad... well, a Fried Chicken Salad. The outside of the Fried Chicken was so crunchy while the inside was tender and hot. The salad was cool and crisp. I loved having a texture - temperature mix. I experienced that when I dine in at Evelyn's, I'm surrounded at a slower pace. This isn't the fast, rushed, get you in and out, next kind of place. Here, I'm in the moment with company and I savor the meal before me. I like that. There's nothing wrong with quick and fast to get you going, but for me, coming here, I know that it's alright to slow down and take a breather.

After not being able to get a table at Cracker Barrel we decided to try Evelyn's Kitchen Table. The Apple Walnut French toast was delicious! The waitress was very nice. The restaurant was clean

My wife and I went here to start our day my wife loved her omelet. I got the B&G meal my eggs were little undercooked but the bacon was really good. Biscuits were good and huge. Don't get the large orange juice it's $5. It's odd to me to have pop with breakfast bit if you don't get coffee that might be a good choice.

Time to fuel the body guys found this place in Kingsport while on a buisness trip. I'm so surprised this place is not filled with reviews. To start off we ordered two orange juices, freshly squeezed and delicious. The peach and cream waffles were to die for the cream is home made, peaches are fresh one of the Best flavors I had on earth. My plate was the eggs, The Best bacon, toast and homemade potatoes this plate tasted so fresh down from the eggs to the toast. I asked for butter and jam but let me tell you this is no ordinary the whipped butter is made in house as well as the jam, I asked if they sell the jams in jars that's how delicious The taste is. Our waiter was Sayde she had the best service, make sure to ask for her. If Yelp allowed me to rate this restaurant based on my own points I would Rate it a 100. If you live in the area or are visiting please come and enjoy the Best breakfast and lunch in a Kingsport and I mean it!! You won't regret it!!!

    Savory Waffles with house potatoes

Small little stop in Kingsport. Great environment for a breakfast/brunch spot. Clean tables and great staff. Service was quick and friendly. Food was hot and has a different little twist to normal breakfast. The savory waffles have sausage cooked into the waffle with cheese on top. The house potatoes were hot and crispy. Highly recommend for an early morning meal. Portions are a great size for the price. Have a good jazz/blues music playing for the ambience with photo of flowers and nature type settings!

    Sausage omelette with potatoes

I've seen the food ratings for this place but just haven't had a chance to make. here. So glad we made it in today. We had the sausage omelette with potatoes, the country ham, egg and cheese sandwich and grits. The sandwich is huge. The toast it came on was oh so buttery good. The bread was thicker like a Texas toast thickness. The grits were perfectly cooked and the perfect consistency. The restaurant is decorated with photography taken by a local artist. Each beautiful photo is for sale. The restaurant is large and most importantly clean. Service was fast and friendly. This is a must try.

Great Service and some of the best breakfast I've had in the area. My favorite is the chicken and waffles.

To me it looks more like a tea shop than a sandwich shop. During our visit, they played fairly loud religious music for a sandwich shop. Next door was an ice cream shop but I didn't feel like any ice cream after eating and I'm not a big Blue Bell fan anyway. They have 2 menus and a lot of items to choose from but most are breakfast or lunch items. I went with a specialty sandwich, the Victoria (a chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread) and a sweet tea. I added their homemade potato salad for $1 more. The sandwich - this was a tasty sandwich on soft ciabatta bread but only 1 problem, the kitchen put American cheese on it. The menu indicated it had cheddar. Luckily they were able to bring me some cheddar from the kitchen while I was scraping off the processed cheese. Overall, it was pretty good because of a sauce they put on it which is slathered all over the shredded chicken. Potato salad - this is mayo based, quite different than the mustard based potato salad in the south. They added plenty of dill on the sandwich which made my colleague cringe since he also substituted for potato salad, but I thought it was pretty good. The service was a little strange as I heard our waitress keep making mistakes with another nearby table too as she kept saying "sorry" to that table as well.

One is for breakfast and lunch and one serves sandwiches, coffee, and ice cream. We chose the latter one. Small dining area but it was not busy so we seated ourselves. Promptly someone came and took our order after giving us some very helpful suggestions. We chose The Rose with broccoli salad and the Smoking Cricket with potato salad. All of it was delicious. But our favorite is The Rose. Their homemade pimento cheese with bacon and pepper jelly on ciabatta was amazing!

We received our order and the first thing out of the bag was the fruit bowl. The pictures showed strawberries, cantaloupe, and blueberries. Picture will be posted. No strawberries and very thinly sliced cantaloupe. Then I pull out the bbq 1/2 sandwich. There is only a very tiny amount of chicken on the middle of the half sandwich. Hey they put a good amount of bbq on there. Pictures posted on this as well. If this is the amount of food you get on the sandwiches there will be one less Panera bread customer. So I called thinking surely there was a mistake. Manage says we have measuring cups for the food and it was indeed correct. They didn't have strawberries for the fruit cup so they couldn't give any. No apologies, no added other fruit or more of one of the other fruits. When I stated the chicken was only in the middle part of the sandwich she stated once again they have measuring cups for that. I surely hope Panera is not that stingy with their food that comes at premium prices.. I'm telling you if I could give it a zero I would. I ate bbq bread, thin slices of cantaloupe and a few blueberries. Soup cups 1/2 full, I can only imagine they use measuring cups for that as well.. What little circle of chicken I did eat was ok. The 1/2 cup (bowl according to them) was warm and Thank Goodness my daughter was sick because the half "bowl/cup" would not have been enough otherwise. Absolutely do not recommend and won't be back.
