    You Talkin' to Me Benedict

I find such joy when I discover local places that are unique to the area. I've been to Evelyn's Kitchen Table twice and I have enjoyed both visits. My first encounter was on a Sunday Brunch. I have learned that their Sunday menu changes weekly and that the Brunch carries a theme. The one Sunday I visited was Taxi Driver, movie themed. I had a "You Talkin' to Me?" - Poached Eggs over potatoes and sausage. It was very filling, very delicious. My friend had the "Taxi Driver" burger. My second visit, I wanted to try a salad... well, a Fried Chicken Salad. The outside of the Fried Chicken was so crunchy while the inside was tender and hot. The salad was cool and crisp. I loved having a texture - temperature mix. I experienced that when I dine in at Evelyn's, I'm surrounded at a slower pace. This isn't the fast, rushed, get you in and out, next kind of place. Here, I'm in the moment with company and I savor the meal before me. I like that. There's nothing wrong with quick and fast to get you going, but for me, coming here, I know that it's alright to slow down and take a breather.

After not being able to get a table at Cracker Barrel we decided to try Evelyn's Kitchen Table. The Apple Walnut French toast was delicious! The waitress was very nice. The restaurant was clean

Time to fuel the body guys found this place in Kingsport while on a buisness trip. I'm so surprised this place is not filled with reviews. To start off we ordered two orange juices, freshly squeezed and delicious. The peach and cream waffles were to die for the cream is home made, peaches are fresh one of the Best flavors I had on earth. My plate was the eggs, The Best bacon, toast and homemade potatoes this plate tasted so fresh down from the eggs to the toast. I asked for butter and jam but let me tell you this is no ordinary the whipped butter is made in house as well as the jam, I asked if they sell the jams in jars that's how delicious The taste is. Our waiter was Sayde she had the best service, make sure to ask for her. If Yelp allowed me to rate this restaurant based on my own points I would Rate it a 100. If you live in the area or are visiting please come and enjoy the Best breakfast and lunch in a Kingsport and I mean it!! You won't regret it!!!

My wife and I went here to start our day my wife loved her omelet. I got the B&G meal my eggs were little undercooked but the bacon was really good. Biscuits were good and huge. Don't get the large orange juice it's $5. It's odd to me to have pop with breakfast bit if you don't get coffee that might be a good choice.

I've seen the food ratings for this place but just haven't had a chance to make. here. So glad we made it in today. We had the sausage omelette with potatoes, the country ham, egg and cheese sandwich and grits. The sandwich is huge. The toast it came on was oh so buttery good. The bread was thicker like a Texas toast thickness. The grits were perfectly cooked and the perfect consistency. The restaurant is decorated with photography taken by a local artist. Each beautiful photo is for sale. The restaurant is large and most importantly clean. Service was fast and friendly. This is a must try.

Small little stop in Kingsport. Great environment for a breakfast/brunch spot. Clean tables and great staff. Service was quick and friendly. Food was hot and has a different little twist to normal breakfast. The savory waffles have sausage cooked into the waffle with cheese on top. The house potatoes were hot and crispy. Highly recommend for an early morning meal. Portions are a great size for the price. Have a good jazz/blues music playing for the ambience with photo of flowers and nature type settings!

Great Service and some of the best breakfast I've had in the area. My favorite is the chicken and waffles.

The entrance has some significant potholes so watch as you enter or leave, but the opening is very wide so you can maneuver around them pretty easily. This area is also used for the stockyards so there were several trucks with trailers but they tended to park further away from the restaurant. There are steps to the entrance, but there is a ramp on the left side as well. There is also a handicapped space at the bottom of the ramp, but you will need to walk through the gravel lot so plan accordingly. The entrance is at the bottom of a U-shaped bar. All seating is at the bar so large parties will be spread out. It you do have a large party, try to get a corner so you can talk easier. I was able to find a seat along the right side. There were quite a few regulars, evidenced by the joking between them and the staff. The place can get loud with all the conversation, but everyone is friendly and the staff is accommodating. While the kitchen is in the rear, the drinks, cups, silverware, etc. are all in the middle of the bar. This area is quite busy as all the staff maneuvers through here. It did seem waitresses were experienced and took care of both sides of the bar. The building itself is pretty run down but "well used" does not indicate dirty or unsafe, just that is has a lot of history. I ordered the biscuit with gravy and sausage and added two eggs for an additional dollar. The food came out in about ten minutes. The biscuit and gravy were very good and the eggs were cooked as ordered. The sausage was dry but was OK when added to the biscuit and gravy. My coffee never got below half a cup. It was a relatively warm morning, and the restaurant started to heat up while I was there. It appears they only have a wall air conditioner which cannot keep up with all the heat generated in the restaurant. It was not uncomfortable but could be that way in the summer. Betty's is a homey local spot with a decent breakfast for a good price.

If it was bigger and had tables, you'd feel like you were having breakfast at your grandmas house. The staff is friendly and the little time you do wait you can peruse all the wall decorations. We drove from Johnson City to Kingsport one morning looking for something quick, and as always, I trusted my Yelp peeps to point us toward something good. Big As Biscuits & Burgers is tucked inside a gas station but don't let that deter you for a second. These biscuits are no joke. We were originally thinking of a sit-down breakfast, but my partner is a full-blown biscuit enthusiast. If we see biscuits, we try the biscuits. So we stopped in, and the woman behind the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We grabbed a ginormous biscuit for just over $3. She had all the single-serve jams and jellies ready to go, which I appreciated. We took it back to the car to eat. First impression: this thing requires two hands. It's massive. She had already sliced it for us, and when I opened it up, you could see the buttery pockets where it melted into the dough while baking. It wasn't ultra-layered and flaky like a laminated biscuit, but it was perfectly soft on the inside with a beautiful crunch on the outside. The flavor was spot on!!! Soft, warm, buttery and comforting. We added a little jam, though honestly it didn't even need butter. It was that good. If you're looking for a quick, satisfying bite that will absolutely fill your belly, stop at Big As Biscuits & Burgers. We're already talking about grabbing a few more to bring back to the hotel before we leave town. Sometimes the best finds are inside a gas station and sometimes a biscuit really can make your morning.
