My family came here for my birthday and I was very impressed with how well they accommodated us. We tried to book ahead of time because we know things fill up during the holidays as well as it being a weekend. Unfortunately we got our days mixed up and our reservation was the following day. However the hostess told us it was not an issue and still seated us right away moving our booking to the correct day. The food came out in a timely manner and our server was very helpful as well. I ordered the seafood lasagna and it was very flavorful. Personally if I were to come back, I'd order another dish that was more filling. The server raved about how good it was and she was correct. It did have a lot of flavor to it. However it lacked seafood in the shells. At some points, I felt as though I was only eating shells and sauce with tomatoes unfortunately. Upon finishing our meal, unfortunately my father became ill after sipping water and going down the wrong pipe. We were so embarrassed seeing as though we were sitting in the middle of everyone dining. However the staff were so kind resulting us that it wasn't the first and dropping everything they were doing to tend to us with wet napkins and checking on my father. It was just okay. Nothing was bad, just not as good as it should be for the price and atmosphere which is more upscale. The best thing we had was the New York strip, (not seafood). The grilled sea scallops were also good. We got the broiled seafood platter (most expensive item we got) had rubbery shrimp and the bread crumbs over everything was just too much and yet it all needed seasoning. We were given a river side seating which was rare, it was perfect for the event as we were celebrating a bday. It wasn't too loud or quiet so that was nice and it was much appreciated they don't try to pack the restaurant with tables. We were sat and greeted within a couple of minutes and our waitress was extremely kind. My husband ordered the rainbow trout and oysters. The rainbow trout was okay but truly nothing special or outstanding about it flavor wise in our opinion. I ordered the 7oz filet and again, there was nothing special about it. It was a steak that you could make at home and probably add more flavor. Unfortunately we will probably not be back but if you stop by here, maybe focus on the oysters!! read more

Exquisite service. Beautiful atmosphere. Delicious and filling food. They hit the trifecta, and I was so happy that we'd saved this place to visit on our last full day in Gatlinburg. It was difficult to find parking, but I rang the restaurant and was directed towards two nearby parking garages that were within walking distance. We were seated at a beautiful table with a view of the river. It was everything that I wanted for a romantic evening with my husband. They provided us with an assortment of breads to choose from. I was a fan of the muffin and my husband of the croissant. We sheepishly asked for more. We both started with the crab bisque, and it was delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the Baked Crab Dip starter as mine and my husband ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter. Both of our meals came with so much food...and honestly, we were pretty full after the soup and bread! We had plenty of leftovers to get us through the night as we prepared to leave town. As soon as I walked in the door, the aroma made me very excited to try this place. We had been to Anakeesta for nine hours and just wanted a quick bite before we return to her hotel. Honestly, we just came in for a cocktail and some soup. But I have reading the reviews of the Maryland crabcakes I thought I'd give them a try. I'm very familiar with Marilyn crabcakes I live near the Chesapeake Bay for years. I have my own special recipe as well. I was not deaf disappointed. I wish we hadn't been eating all day long at the park for we really have enjoyed a full meal here. Services exceptional music is fitting for the setting. Nina was equally as helpful when my friend spilled water and we did not realize how much had drained under the table. Nina cleaned up our mess, quite quickly with a smile on her face and asked if she could do anything else for us. The service here is outstanding! We go here every time we go to Gatlinburg. The seafood is always fresh, and they have great specials. It was close to Valentines Day, so we did have a reservation, which I would suggest any night. Although they were out of some sides, our waiter suggested other items. Our waiter was very attentive, maybe a bit too much, but he was trying to do a good job and make sure we had everything we needed. The break is delicious. Make sure to get a bread basket to start. My wife chose the broiled platter, with lightly dusted scallops, cod, shrimp, and a fantastic crab cake, all of which I helped her finish off. Her wine, a moscato, was reasonably priced ($7). I couldn't resist the Delaware pie, which should only be attempted by the most committed person since you won't leave any of it uneaten. This was an excellent restaurant choice for us. It won't be your cheapest meal, but good food isn't cheap and cheap food isn't good. If you're willing to splurge for fresh seafood, you won't regret this choice. Drove from Indy to Gatlinburg, when we arrived, we were famished. We started looking for a place to eat using Yelp search as we drive thru Knoxville. We landed on Chesapeakes. Love Gatlinburg, not a big fan of their parking. We sat at the bar though plenty of seating was available. It seemed to have a fun vibe. I don't recall her name, but the bartender was exceptional. My wife had the oysters Rockefeller and the lobster tail; she loved both. She liked it so much, we went there again the next day. I had crab cakes with the spanich. Both items were exceptional. It also came with complimentary bread and muffins with butter. We also ordered the cooked Oyster sampler which included 6 oysters with different variety of flavors. They were all tasty and I highly recommend this platter. I been wanting a nice juicy steak so I ordered the New York strip. I opted for the loaded bake potato side. Let me tell you that this is one of the best steaks that I have ever tasted in my life. It was cooked to perfection with crispy sides. The center was juicy and not dry. The flavor was on point and whoever cooked it deserves to get a raise. The portion was huge and filling. The loaded bake potato side was not bad either. We also ordered the Crab Cake sandwich which was very tasty especially with a ton of crab meat inside. The little one got his kids meal (chicken tenders/fries). Unfortunately, I don't recall her name but she may have been British; nevertheless she was very kind. She was also helpful with her recommendations. They also tasted pretty fresh so kudos to them for making that happen in a landlocked state. I ordered the broiled seafood platter which was honestly kind of a letdown. All the seafood had a little bit of this browned panko breading on top, and honestly all of it tasted pretty bland. The scallops were probably my favorite thing, but the cod, shrimp, and crab cake were all just meh. Even the fries I ordered as a side were just ok (and I normally love fries). The people leaving bad reviews probably just ordered the wrong things, because everything we had was incredible. The Chesapeake oysters were phenomenal -- super cheesy, super creamy, absolutely perfect. The crab dip was just as good -- rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The crab cakes? Amazing. So flavorful and fresh. But the real star was the broiled seafood platter -- honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. I could eat that every single day. Our party of four and a toddler had a lovely dinner tonight at Chesapeake's. I don't give out five stars very lightly and this one was well deserved. We had a lovely table on their porch/covered patio overlooking the little pigeon river. Jonathan was our Server and he had all the qualities of an excellent waiter. The mini seafood tower was exceptional both in terms of quality of food as well as presentation. Given that we are from the Chesapeake Bay Maryland area we always love to critique crabcakes and we all agreed that the crabcakes we had tonight Were quite good, excellent crab meat but perhaps lacking a little and seasoning. My swordfish was outstanding but I wish I had opted out of the bourbon glaze and stuck with a butter garlic lemon sauce. The New York strip and fillet were some of the best we have ever had, cooked perfectly and extremely tender. Top that off with some good cocktails and you have the perfect meal. With there NOT being a shortage of Restaurants it's hard to decide where to eat. On our first day we ate at the Trout House. The fish was Wonderful but the sides NOT good at all. Tonight we picked Chesapeake's because of the sides. The Spinach Mac n Cheese was why we came and we were NOT disappointed. Everything is AMAZING. I had a dish not on the menu Shrimp with Cheese and Bacon Grits with a Side of Mac n Cheese. Lord I could've eaten two plates of this. The grits were so smoky cooked to perfection. The shrimp was the same the Grilled Smoke was exactly how I like it. The service is impeccable. One of the managers Dalton took time to chat with us personalizing our time in the restaurant. This was my family's first time at Chesapeake's. I was a little apprehensive at first because my daughter wanted crab legs and they were not listed on the menu. We went anyway and when I asked the waitress you said that they are not on the menu but they could make some which I thought was amazing service. My wife ordered the crab cakes and I ordered the crab stuffed flounder. All of the food was amazing and our server was fantastic. Wish I could remember her name to give a shout out. Had a great meal here while on vacation. The steamed seafood feast (minus clams, extra mussels added in place) was massive and very fresh. The grilled chicken came with this amazing red pepper butter and was cooked perfectly. The cheese burger was also a big portion, cooked well, and came with yummy shoestring fries. Our server, Brooklyn, was also fantastic. Despite being totally fine to come in shorts and t-shirts, the ambiance was a little more upscale and chill than other places on the parkway--definitely not touristy. This was our second time visiting and now alongside our first time visiting parents and sibling. Our first visit July 2023, was incredible and I regret not leaving an initial review. But I can vividly remember what was ordered and everything was great including the service! Crab stuffed flounder, a dozen assorted oysters, and filet mignon--all divine! This most recent visit was subpar to our last visit. We made a reservation for 7:45p, arrived 7:48p due to extremely limited parking and no directions online whereas to park. We ended up settling in a lot .1 mi down the road and walked up; not bad at all. When we entered, just as last time there was line outside the door! We entered and checked in, we were quoted 15-20mins which is reasonable. 35mins passes and we still had a large party ahead of us, but were sat at 41mins passed reservation. The lobby being overcrowded with no wait seating and brisk outdoors all led to an uncomfortable and flustering, better yet, 'hangry-ing', start to our experience. After many years in the service and hospitality industry, I have found that during peak season, restaurants enforcing a 1.5-2hr seating limit has been the least stressful in guaranteeing a seat upon arrival, for both the patrons and the staff. It's extremely common in high volume tourism markets like Orlando, Atlanta, and coastal destinations. Once we were finally sat, our server was quick to grab our drinks and soon after wrap up our meal orders. She was good and attentive but not to the extent of seeking out her name for remembering. The raw oyster selection was the highlight of the night! I refuse to eat raw oysters harvested in the Gulf of Mexico; I'm a Virginia up to PEI kind of guy. The options were vast, and they had my 2 favorite regions: Wellfleet and York River, VA. I learned I have a hankering for Katama now as well. The other folks of the party ordered the Shrimp Chesapeake, the Scallops, and the Grilled Shrimp Skewers--all were incredible tasty and the best side was definitely the special Potatoes (can't remember the exact name!) We opted out of dessert because by that time, it was past 10p. During this visit, I learned 2 important lessons: Eat here earlier in the evening and don't come here with a party of 5 or more; we had 5. My partner and I will surely be back for our oyster fix in the mountains but doubt we'll return with a party for a great selection of cuisine. read more

We have several excellent seafood restaurants in our area, and from trying the original location in Downtown Knoxville, I decided to try out the most touristy one in Gatlinburg. I made an online reservation easily and from there is where this location exceeded my expectations. They texted to confirm which I anticipated was an auto generated response. But they followed up with a personal response asking about our occasion. This was an incredible way to secure my wife's birthday dinner. Our table was ready on time if not a few minutes early and they set us up for the river view which really made the night special. Our server was friendly kind and patient as we worked through a cocktail and appetizer round. We started with the tuna appetizer, which was light and flavorful, not overly salty. For entrees my wife let the server pick between the boiled platter and crab cakes. I chose the Barrumundi special with an olive, onion, tomato and feta mixture with cream sauce underneath. It was a lighter fish and was a touch under, but I'd rather that than show leather, the fish was great. The broiled seafood platter was exceptional! She could barely finish it, the shrimp were exceptional and the crab cake almost no filler! The server offered up a free desert for her birthday and we were able to take advantage since the courses were light and we skipped salads. The Delaware pie was the perfect nightcap with coffee ice cream, Oreo crust and drizzled with chocolate syrup and candied pecans. It was the perfect celebration for her and I thought the atmosphere food and service were all in harmony. We came to this restaurant without reservation and they were able to seat 5 of us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty nice for the Gatlinburg downtown touristy strip. Our server, Rose, was attentive, friendly, and gave us good recommendation on the food. She brought these amazing bread basket and they were so fresh, warm, and delicious. My husband ordered the wolffish on top of linguini alfredo and he opted for brussel sprout with bacons for the side. I got the broiled seafood and it has shrimps, scallops, and fish. We also ordered the oyster sampler and they were so good especially the chesapeake oyster. My kids had the kid hamburger, fried fish, fries, kids grilled shrimps, and vanilla milkshake.
