Chesapeake's is a nice place! At the end of the Gatlinburg strip, it is busy without the chaos. Parking is available in nearby lots or use a hotel shuttle. We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant is spacious but has an intimate feel. The service is on game, professional, warm and friendly. The were a lot of great options to choose from. The fish is tasty as are the sides. Dessert was delightful as well. They do have fresh lobster if that's your game. The place was packed, but even with how busy it was, we were seated within five minutes of our reservation time. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job throughout the meal. Let's start with the parking situation, there's no dedicated parking, so be prepared to park in a garage about a 7-minute walk away, which cost us $15. Not the best start to the evening. As for the food, it was honestly pretty underwhelming considering how hyped this place is. The crab dip was okay, nothing memorable. The steak and lobster was disappointing- the lobster had that soft texture that overcooked or not-so-fresh crawfish can have. The baked shrimp wasn't bad, but definitely not something I'd order again. Strawberry shortcake was decent enough. Ironically, the bread basket ended up being my favorite part of the meal-absolutely delicious. The service, however, was genuinely warm and hospitable. We were given a river side seating which was rare, it was perfect for the event as we were celebrating a bday. They had a lighting issue so most of the customers were shifted to their other sister restaurant. the portion sizes are big. We first ordered the shrimp appetizer. Their breads were amazing and the butter - outstanding! We had the menu of that weekend and the seafood was freshly flown in that morning. It was outstanding.. This place is such a quality high end restaurant in Gatlinburg. The service is always 5 stars and the food matches. The bartender can make anything and our white sangrias were fabulous. I ordered the red snapper special with an Alfredo sauce and lobster ravioli. The sauce was light and complemented the fish perfectly. My granddaughter ordered the salmon special and loved it. My family came here for my birthday and I was very impressed with how well they accommodated us. We tried to book ahead of time because we know things fill up during the holidays as well as it being a weekend. Unfortunately we got our days mixed up and our reservation was the following day. However the hostess told us it was not an issue and still seated us right away moving our booking to the correct day. The food came out in a timely manner and our server was very helpful as well. I ordered the seafood lasagna and it was very flavorful. Personally if I were to come back, I'd order another dish that was more filling. The server raved about how good it was and she was correct. It did have a lot of flavor to it. However it lacked seafood in the shells. At some points, I felt as though I was only eating shells and sauce with tomatoes unfortunately. Upon finishing our meal, unfortunately my father became ill after sipping water and going down the wrong pipe. We were so embarrassed seeing as though we were sitting in the middle of everyone dining. However the staff were so kind resulting us that it wasn't the first and dropping everything they were doing to tend to us with wet napkins and checking on my father. Exquisite service. Beautiful atmosphere. Delicious and filling food. They hit the trifecta, and I was so happy that we'd saved this place to visit on our last full day in Gatlinburg. It was difficult to find parking, but I rang the restaurant and was directed towards two nearby parking garages that were within walking distance. We were seated at a beautiful table with a view of the river. It was everything that I wanted for a romantic evening with my husband. They provided us with an assortment of breads to choose from. I was a fan of the muffin and my husband of the croissant. We sheepishly asked for more. We both started with the crab bisque, and it was delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the Baked Crab Dip starter as mine and my husband ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter. Both of our meals came with so much food...and honestly, we were pretty full after the soup and bread! We had plenty of leftovers to get us through the night as we prepared to leave town. Would have liked to give them 4 stars but there were just too many things wrong. Crab bisque was delicious but served lukewarm, not hot. Ribeye was delicious but fatty which I guess you'd expect from that cut. Salad, fries and onion rings standard, not good enough that I'd order them again. Whole lobster tail was tough and chewy, I should have sent it back. Service was very sloow.. waited 20 minutes for coffee because waitress said they had to brew both decaf and regular in the same pot. Couldn't they afford more than 1 coffee pot? Waitress left dirty plates on our table, didn't ask if we wanted more bread or a refill on our coffee. Really nice atmosphere. read more

We go here every time we go to Gatlinburg. The seafood is always fresh, and they have great specials. It was close to Valentines Day, so we did have a reservation, which I would suggest any night. Although they were out of some sides, our waiter suggested other items. Our waiter was very attentive, maybe a bit too much, but he was trying to do a good job and make sure we had everything we needed. The break is delicious. Make sure to get a bread basket to start. As soon as I walked in the door, the aroma made me very excited to try this place. We had been to Anakeesta for nine hours and just wanted a quick bite before we return to her hotel. Honestly, we just came in for a cocktail and some soup. But I have reading the reviews of the Maryland crabcakes I thought I'd give them a try. I'm very familiar with Marilyn crabcakes I live near the Chesapeake Bay for years. I have my own special recipe as well. I was not deaf disappointed. I wish we hadn't been eating all day long at the park for we really have enjoyed a full meal here. Services exceptional music is fitting for the setting. Nina was equally as helpful when my friend spilled water and we did not realize how much had drained under the table. Drove from Indy to Gatlinburg, when we arrived, we were famished. We started looking for a place to eat using Yelp search as we drive thru Knoxville. We landed on Chesapeakes. Love Gatlinburg, not a big fan of their parking. We sat at the bar though plenty of seating was available. It seemed to have a fun vibe. I don't recall her name, but the bartender was exceptional. My wife had the oysters Rockefeller and the lobster tail; she loved both. She liked it so much, we went there again the next day. I had crab cakes with the spanich. Both items were exceptional. The lump crab cakes were the best I've had outside cakes in the Chesapeake Bay Area. We like to frequent Gatlinburg, this will be one of our must visit places when we go!!! read more

It was just okay. Nothing was bad, just not as good as it should be for the price and atmosphere which is more upscale. The best thing we had was the New York strip, (not seafood). The grilled sea scallops were also good. We got the broiled seafood platter (most expensive item we got) had rubbery shrimp and the bread crumbs over everything was just too much and yet it all needed seasoning. Our server, Mark W., who happened to also be the bartender was most pleasant, accommodating and made wonderful drinks for us. He thoroughly reviewed all the menu options which were available to us and was extremely welcoming. The generous portions and freshness of the seafood were impressive. We had a delectable crab bisque and Caesar salad for appetizers accompanied by succulent hot rolls. The main courses were lobster tails, crab cakes an an incredible Florida grouper in a red pepper sauce. Nice atmosphere and good food. The restaurant was not very busy for a Friday night. The service left a lot to be desired. We asked our server twice for silverware set up for the table so we could butter our bread. We ordered the seafood tower for the table appetizer. It was brought without any accompaniments (crab cracker tools, vinegar, hot sauce, cocktail sauce & bowl for shells). We asked the server for the accompaniments and instead of crab cracker tools, he brought us a basket of cracker packets. We all laughed as we thought it was a joke. It was not. He appeared very annoyed when we once again asked him for the tools. My son ordered a broiled seafood platter. He could not eat the crabcake that came with it so we asked for extra of something else that was already included in the plate instead of the crab cake. He appeared very confused. Not too bad but nothing crazy in my husband and I's opinion. We had a reservation at 7:30pm on a Saturday which definitely seemed necessary as it was pretty busy. It wasn't too loud or quiet so that was nice and it was much appreciated they don't try to pack the restaurant with tables. We were sat and greeted within a couple of minutes and our waitress was extremely kind. My husband ordered the rainbow trout and oysters. The rainbow trout was okay but truly nothing special or outstanding about it flavor wise in our opinion. I ordered the 7oz filet and again, there was nothing special about it. I been wanting to try this spot out since it was right next to the hotel that I was staying at. Upon arrival, luckily we were able to secure a nice river front booth as it was super busy. I highly recommend a reservation if your coming here. We started out with the Calamari appetizer which came in a generous portion and highly delicious. It came with marinara and mustard sauce. It also came with complimentary bread and muffins with butter. We also ordered the cooked Oyster sampler which included 6 oysters with different variety of flavors. They were all tasty and I highly recommend this platter. I been wanting a nice juicy steak so I ordered the New York strip. I opted for the loaded bake potato side. Let me tell you that this is one of the best steaks that I have ever tasted in my life. It was cooked to perfection with crispy sides. The center was juicy and not dry. The flavor was on point and whoever cooked it deserves to get a raise. The portion was huge and filling. The loaded bake potato side was not bad either. Overall a decent meal but I wasn't blown away by anything. We started with 6 raw oysters. I liked the duxbury oysters - very large and meaty with just the right amount of saltiness. Yum! They also tasted pretty fresh so kudos to them for making that happen in a landlocked state. I ordered the broiled seafood platter which was honestly kind of a letdown. All the seafood had a little bit of this browned panko breading on top, and honestly all of it tasted pretty bland. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name but she may have been British; nevertheless she was very kind. She was also helpful with her recommendations. I had a menu special which was red snapper, my son had crab cakes and my husband had his filet butterflied for the first time and he absolutely loved it.
