We ducked into Boudicca's Celtic Pub trying to beat the Gatlinburg heat with a party of nine--not exactly an easy group to accommodate on a whim. Instead of being turned away or treated like a burden, we were immediately welcomed and found a great spot upstairs with awesome views of the village. The food and drinks completely delivered. The beer was fantastic, and you could tell the bartender actually cared about the quality of the pour (you have to try the Blacksmith). We started with the soft pretzels and beer cheese (excellent), but the absolute standout was the Celtic Spice Bag for the entree. I can't recommend it enough--you have to try it. I've been to a lot of Irish pubs around the world, including plenty in Ireland. A lot of places think that slapping some Claddaghs, harps, and four-leaf clovers on the wall while blasting the same five pub songs we all know by heart is enough to make an Irish pub. Boudicca's has the decor and the music, sure, but that's not why we'll be coming back. When you walk into a real pub over on Salt Hill in Galway Bay, what actually makes the place special is the atmosphere. It's the genuine welcome from the people, the care behind the bar, and food that feels unique. Boudicca's captured that exact feeling right in the middle of Tennessee. Awesome hidden little spot in the Village!! The entrance has a bar with 6 seats. For food (get one of the burgers), order at the bar and sit upstairs. Your name will be called to come get your food. Cameron was our bartender two days in a row. He was great! The coolest thing is the beer printer. They pour a proper Irish Guinness pour, and then print cool things in the foam. If you want the Celtic inn, go upstairs and they will bring your food up for you! The banger burger is award winning votes best in Gatlinburg and I can see why. The beef patties are seasoned well, tender and delicious along with the potato bun. The banger burger also has sliced "bangers" which are seasoned sausage, mashed potatoes and grilled onions! We went in here looking for a bathroom (bathrooms are around the corner in the little outdoor mall), but ended up having great counter service and a fantastic afternoon meal with some beers. This truly is an Irish pub, so plan on drinking heavier beers. The fries with beer cheese were incredible - I highly recommend going with whatever the cook recommends in terms of seasoning and how you want them, because it was such a treat. Only complaint is they don't explain how things work when you order. But we eventually figured it out. You order at the bar, then you wait upstairs and then they'll bring the food to you in a to-go container, which you can either eat there or take it with you. It's a small quaint place upstairs with several tables. It was a little bit of a wait for the food, but didn't mind being able to rest after running around Gatlinburg. What I like most is the quality matches the price, especially for such a location that curious tourists are abundant. Although burgers are not my thing, I tried my husband's beer burger and it was awesome. The sausage was well done with the taste and texture. And the beer, look at the picture lol. Who can resist that glass of beer? I love my steak. Not the best beef, of course with that price, but not bad. Hidden away in Village Shoppes is a nice little pub.  They have a nice selection of beers, burgers, fish & chips, and more!  They have outdoor seating, upstairs seating, and if you're lucky, you can sit at the bar upon entering.  It's a very warm chill vibe, and they are very welcoming and laid back. The food is given to you in to-go boxes(which I think is genius) and everything was cooked perfectly.  We had the fish & chips (thick and cooked nicely) and the AWARD WINNING Banger Burger (Guinness-marinated Sausages, sweet grilled Onions, Irish yellow Cheddar and a thick spread of fresh Mashed Potatoes), and a delicious pumpkin beer! I've been coming to Gatlinburg all my life, and I'm no spring chicken. I grew up camping in the area and now I take my children to do the same. To be perfectly honest, the town is not really my jam these days. Our more recent tradition is to get a hotel near the strip and just use the room for occasional hot water (my kids are still very young) and to take a break from meals made over the fire. We don't actual sleep there, but this rooms around here are a bargain, they're affordable even if you're not sleeping in them. I'll admit we don't walk the entire strip, but there a little portion called The Village that the kids like to walk through. I was browsing around a shoe store in this little nook off the strip and asked the owner if there was a good spot for charcuterie and wine that wasn't sweet. I do realize this isn't the culinary capital of the world, but you never know. Anyway, he couldn't think of anything that fit that bill, but he did mention that an Irish spot a couple doors down was voted best burger in the city two years in a row. This was compelling enough and it was close! We walked in with our kids and they took a seat a bar. I apologized to the bartender (Joey) and he assured me, it wasn't a problem. A kid-friendly bar? I was already impressed. We didn't spend much time studying the menu; we had to try that burger! The Banger Burger, with Guinness-marinated sausages, sweet grilled onions, Irish cheddar, and a thick spread of fresh mashed potatoes, was served with a hefty portion of Celtic sea salt seasoned fries. We ordered the beer cheese for dipping. It was smooth, spiced perfectly, and was the perfect accompaniment to the rest of the meal. I also ordered a Magner's Pear Cider. This is small restaurant that is perfect for takeout, but they also have several tables upstairs. The space was adorned with Irish decor, maps, witty signs, blessings, and a perfect little window nook to watch the passerby. We headed upstairs and Joey brought up our meals when they were ready. The burger itself was huge. It truly was a flavor explosion. If Irish pubs are your forte, this place is an absolute must. We dug deep into the depths of that beer cheese container. It's the type of meal that will have you wanting to lick your plate and even better, the type of establishment that makes you feel comfortable doing so. My beer was made with 100% premium pears, crisp, with a refreshing fruit flavor. Unlike other ciders I've tried, the notes of fruit weren't overstated or too sweet. If you're like me and find the task of choosing a meal in Gatlinburg more difficult than most, this is your needle in the haystack. It's worth coming down the mountain for. I have eaten a lot of burgers in my life. I love a good hamburger. I even had part of my wedding party weekend at a burger place back home. I've been meaning to try this place and finally had the chance today. I went in to place my order at the counter for a Boudicca burger with chips. The food was brought very efficiently to me upstairs. It is small upstairs but I absolutely loved the Irish music playing. I took a bite of my burger and couldn't believe what I was tasting. It had some Irish cheese on it along with a sweet onion jam on it. The burger consisted of two smash patties which were perfectly cooked. A lot of people overcook the thin patties or they press them too much and they are tough. Not this burger. It was a symphony in my mouth and I just loved every single bite. I regret not making time to go back to this pub before leaving. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Saturday night hoping for a quick beer and bite. Unfortunately for us, they were very busy at the bar. The owner (I think) came around from the bar to greet us personally and apologize for not having a seat for us. He was very friendly and invited us to come back soon when we chose to go somewhere else.
