We waited ages until someone came to wait of us. He apologized, the waiter of that section was too busy and he would take over. This waiter was great- but everything else was awful. After waiting at least 15 mins for even someone to ask us for our drinks- it was a full hour later until we got our meals. My soup was cold. My steak was cold. They gave me the wrong sauce ordered at first- and when that was fixed- it was lukewarm at best. I told the waiter it was my son's birthday- but we didn't even get a dessert or anything because by the time our food was there- my son was exhausted and I was losing him. Soup was extremely salty, as was the sun dried tomato sauce. My filet was fine. Nothing special, and it was a bit tough. My son and I are here for the week for his birthday gift. He loves steak so I thought a nicer steak house would be special for him. Mom and son time- but honestly, I wish we had grabbed McDonald's and called it a night. $83 and one of the worst experiences I've had in awhile. The other waiter who was too busy to take us kept coming over and making odd comments to my son- and he hid by the last time. It was just strange. My son was pretty weirded out by that guy. Ha. We had a lovely meal seated at the bar at the Cherokee Grill. They're a bustling spot, so we were happy without reservations that we were able to grab a spot at the bar. The bartender was lovely and attentive throughout our visit (though, obviously, he was quite busy! He kept up on everything like a champ). We began with cocktails. For me, I got a Manhattan, which was perfectly made. For my main dish, I got wild salmon with sauteed mushrooms as my side. I also got a caesar side salad and my meal came with warm, and absolutely delicious fresh baked bread. Everything was flavorful and perfect. The salad was well dressed and had tomato--I'm flexible when it comes to caesar but I know some of you all are purists so just a note. The salmon had a wonderfully smoky flavor from the grill, and the mushrooms were perfectly sauteed and delicious. The restaurant is large and has ample seating for any size groups. The service was a bit slow but the restaurant was full and our waitress was working quite a few tables. My friends and I are on our annual girls trip and decided to give this place a chance at the recommendation of someone. The ambience was very nice as it wasn't dark or dimly lit like most steakhouses. Our server Terrell was amazing and provided exceptional service with a smile. He also told us about his favorite items on the menu and made some very tasty recommendations. Our starters were, spinach and artichoke dip, crab dip, crab cake and crab stuffed mushrooms and EVERYTHING was a 10/10. Unfortunately over the years, the quality seems to be on the decline. The hostess didn't smile, didn't speak, just motioned to follow her. That was disturbing. Drinks were delicious and calamari was ok. A bit greasy but ok. Family ordered two filets and prime rib and they were cooked to perfection. My ribeye was not cooked as requested and way overcooked. I wasn't able to resolve as the waitress didn't come back to see how our meal was cooked. I only ate a few bites so that was very disappointing. Our group of 6 ordered the Prime Rib and Shrimp. The prime rib had great taste, but most definitely was not cooked to order as it came out luke warm. The shrimp was terrible. The bread at the beginning is good but "herby" according to my husband. Last time we ordered filets, so this time we tried the ribeyes and were definitely not disappointed! Wonderful quality and cooked perfectly (medium, as ordered). I started to get a different side but I loved the blue cheese grits so much last time, I just had to get them again. They offered free desert but we were done and just wanted to leave. Never offered to adjust the bill or anything. They should have given us credit for the crab cakes as it was obvious we did not like them as they were all still in the plate. When you pick up a plate where the $40 crab cakes only have one bite missing you should take care of the customer. As for the restaurant it is extremely loud. After a long day of museums, the aquarium, and tons of walking, we stopped by for a relaxing dinner. Chloe was our server, and she was just a doll-- very kind, great personality, prompt and efficient. We ordered the egg rolls appetizer (forgot to snag a photo of them) to share while we snacked on their bread and butter. Both the bread and the egg rolls were delicious! For dinner, we ordered the Filet special (12 oz.) and the Lobster tail special (1.5 lbs). The kitchen was having a hard time with large parties back to back, and the filet we ordered came out medium-well instead of medium-rare. No worries, though-- they remade it to a rare/mid-rare temperature that was much better than the first steak brought out. My mac 'n' cheese side was phenomenal. It was like a spinach dip with pasta; cheesy, creamy, slightest bit of heat, perfect al dente noodles. Sinfully delicious. For drinks we tried their Caramel Apple Old Fashioned and a typical Old Fashioned made with Bulleit. We skipped on the dessert menu because we were so full, but the options listed sounded great. The food here is fantastic. I've been here a few times, and my kids absolutely love that they have a Shirley Temple on the menu. (It was the only thing that got them through a hike without complaining). The steaks here are great, the sides are also awesome, and the place is super classy. Great for a date night. But I'd have to say what really stood out about our last visit was our server, Jess. She was so attentive, kind, and helped my teenage daughter get exactly what she wanted for dinner.
