Great location at Pier 30! Cool, old school diner vibes right on the water. We ordered single & double cheeseburgers, served on sourdough w/ mustard, pickles & onion (ask for grilled). with fries & a can of soda. Overall, it's not something I'll be craving. It's "okay", somehow lacking in flavor. I would stop in again in if I was heading to the game & parked @ Pier 30. It was fast & convenient, but there are DELICIOUS places all around this city.

Came here since I've never been and I always passed by it! Good: - Very convenient location! Super close to my running trail - Nice large outdoor patio! Lots of seating and feels like a place people go for happy hour at work - The chicken parm was filling - the fries were meh and the chicken parm was good and comfort food - great price too Bad: - The place is very self service and you get your food and eat it wherever - The wind was so strong our food and napkins kept flying out of our plates and hands - Wouldn't come just for the food though Overall this was an authentic SF dig and felt like a nice visit for once.

Red's Java House is one of those iconic, classic SF waterfront diners that you must visit at least once. Sit by the water, enjoy the serene vibe, and catch a spot that has hosted many moments of history. Photos line the walls, documenting moments of San Francisco. There is a seating area out back on a corner of a parking lot, next to the water, and a bar leading into the back sitting area. Order food at the front register, and take a seat; they'll deliver your food. I love coming to Red's for an affordable meal, and relax by the water.

    Irish coffee

Whenever we passed by this place on our way to the Ferry Building we always had the intention to stop by and try their Irish coffee. Well today we did and it was such a letdown. There was barely any whiskey in it. The coffee was very watered down, and the whipped cream came out of a can. No sugar was added to the drink. For $13, it is expensive even by SF standard and was priced higher than most other places that serve much better versions of this drink. Will not come back.

A local staple! Great, laidback spot with a view. The burgers get all the hype, but the fish and chips were perfectly, thinly crispy on the outside, piping hot and soft and juicy on the inside. Friendly service, great views!

This is definitely the spot for well priced food and drinks on the Embarcadero. Carlos was a great bartender! My group and I really enjoyed every part of our meal here. Lots of seating inside or outside. Clean bathroom. Great service and stunning view of the bridge. Highly recommend stopping here for a bite. Best margarita I've had in SF too!

Damn!! This was a fantastic burger!!! Got the Anthony Bourdain special. Double cheeseburger, fries, and IPA 805. And let me tell you this was tasty. It's served on a sourdough roll and comes with pickles, onions, and mustard. Simple but DELICIOUS. I will most definitely come back.

Passing along the Embarcadero and stumbled upon an old fashioned pub with spectacular views of the bay bridge from the rear patio. Very cozy with nice relaxing jazz music while I sip my kona big wave beer on a lazy Monday afternoon.

Reds is truly a cult classic! My first visit to Reds was back in 2004 and I'm desperately trying to figure out how I found out about Reds 20 years ago. I've affectionately referred to Reds as being able to buy the "adult happy meal " since I can get a burger, fries, and a beer. Food is good and beer is cold. There were a lot more people than I remember frequenting Reds. A lot more people! Prices are extremely reasonable, customers are very friendly, but as I said it just has a true cult following. I really hope Reds is there for another 50+ years. Nothing fancy but has earned its place in San Francisco history. This is a must stop going to a Giants game.

Red's Java House is such a historic place along the SF waterfront. Despite living in the Bay Area for decades, we finally got the chance to experience this classic American diner. The ambience here really takes you back to the '50s, with red vinyl seatings, and photos and memorabilia on the walls. I read that the latest owner tried to ''modernize' the place but encountered fierce resistance from loyal customers. It is like a place where time stood still. Anthony Bourdain made this place famous when he dined here and praised the diner. As for the food, the menu presents many American classics but with a local twist. For example, the burger and hot dogs are served in sourdough bread rather than the conventional buns. We ordered the double burger, double dogs, fish and chips (french fries) and an order of onion rings, and they were good for the kind of American comfort food you expect. We enjoyed the food but what people really come here for is the ambience and a connection to the past.

Dark interior, typical dive bar atmosphere, large covered patio in the back where they serve food, with plenty of tables and seating. There were a few counter stools inside where the stage is set up for live music events. They only accept cash at the bar, but they have ATM's on site. We had a few drinks, a couple beers, standard cocktail, and the John Daly (fizzy) which was quite good with a nice sweetness to it. The place got packed later into the evening, but the crowd was just the right amount of crazy, and we had a good time. I also appreciated that there wasn't a long wait for the restrooms like at some other nightclubs and bars. I heard this place is closing down soon. Glad I got to experience it at least once, especially with the shark-themed musical performance setting the mood for the night.

Tater tots - 3.5 stars. Good but nothing special. Has a thick crisp. Fries - 4 stars, subtle crisp yet soft the middle, great seasoning. Fried Chicken Sandwich - 3 stars, meat was dry and the slaw was very basic. Quesadillas - 3 stars, fine But they were nice to make this for the kids even though it wasn't on the menu.

Although it was busy (not packed), we were immediately greeted by a beautiful soul and smile, by the name of Christiana! I didn't notice if there was a DJ or not but the music was THUMPIIIIN (not all bass.. just fun! lol) They were still serving food at 10pm, although I am not sure if late night serving was due to the special event. We had one order of 3 tacos and split it (they were gone before I blinked), Calamari, and fries were large portions. Drinks were good! His energy is warm, his knowledge is deep, and his cocktails? Absolute works of art. He asked what flavors I liked and crafted something completely off-menu that was hands-down one of the best drinks I've ever had. Watching him work is like watching a performance precise, passionate, and full of flair. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming, and the music set the perfect tone for a night of conversation and connection. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just looking for a memorable night out, The Alchemist delivers on every level. Pro tip: Sit at the bar and ask for Manny.
