Homey vibes all around. Perfect stop before the Giants game. Excellent bar service in the back and great views. My $10 well mule was awesome. Great drink specials. No frills. Such a SF gem.

Great location at Pier 30! Cool, old school diner vibes right on the water. We ordered single & double cheeseburgers, served on sourdough w/ mustard, pickles & onion (ask for grilled). with fries & a can of soda. Overall, it's not something I'll be craving. It's "okay", somehow lacking in flavor. I would stop in again in if I was heading to the game & parked @ Pier 30. It was fast & convenient, but there are DELICIOUS places all around this city.

Stepping inside to Reds feels like entering a living piece of the city's past. It genuinely feels like Red's hasn't changed in 100 years--from the narrow footprint and worn bar to the vintage signage and unapologetically old-school vibe. Add in the great views and constant sounds of the Bay Bridge overhead, and it becomes a full sensory experience that's impossible to replicate anywhere else. Red's menu mirrors that same philosophy: robust but simple. It runs the full range from fish and chips to pancakes, covering breakfast through lunch without drifting into trend-chasing. But the most important note--the one regulars care about--is the famous Red's burger, served exactly as intended: mustard, pickles, and onion. Period. No lettuce. No tomato. No substitutions, no apologies. That same mindset applies behind the bar. The Red's Bloody Mary process is as stripped-down as it gets: the bartender (Shout out to Sammy!)--who might also be the manager and the cook--pours vodka, adds the mix, and finishes with exactly five shakes of Tabasco. That's it. No shaking. No stirring, served in a plastic disposable cup. The ice does the work, the drink settles on its own.

Love coming here before a game or event at ballpark. Don't come here for high-end food, you're getting a genuine sf sourdough burger and a cold beer. Great views of the bay bridge from back patio. Pro tip: get a burger to go if you are going to a ballgame. Service is good.

Came here since I've never been and I always passed by it! Good: - Very convenient location! Super close to my running trail - Nice large outdoor patio! Lots of seating and feels like a place people go for happy hour at work - The chicken parm was filling - the fries were meh and the chicken parm was good and comfort food - great price too Bad: - The place is very self service and you get your food and eat it wherever - The wind was so strong our food and napkins kept flying out of our plates and hands - Wouldn't come just for the food though Overall this was an authentic SF dig and felt like a nice visit for once.

Red's Java House is one of those iconic, classic SF waterfront diners that you must visit at least once. Sit by the water, enjoy the serene vibe, and catch a spot that has hosted many moments of history. Photos line the walls, documenting moments of San Francisco. There is a seating area out back on a corner of a parking lot, next to the water, and a bar leading into the back sitting area. Order food at the front register, and take a seat; they'll deliver your food. I love coming to Red's for an affordable meal, and relax by the water.

    Irish coffee

Whenever we passed by this place on our way to the Ferry Building we always had the intention to stop by and try their Irish coffee. Well today we did and it was such a letdown. There was barely any whiskey in it. The coffee was very watered down, and the whipped cream came out of a can. No sugar was added to the drink. For $13, it is expensive even by SF standard and was priced higher than most other places that serve much better versions of this drink. Will not come back.

    Fish and chips, cheeseburger

A local staple! Great, laidback spot with a view. The burgers get all the hype, but the fish and chips were perfectly, thinly crispy on the outside, piping hot and soft and juicy on the inside. Friendly service, great views!

This is definitely the spot for well priced food and drinks on the Embarcadero. Carlos was a great bartender! My group and I really enjoyed every part of our meal here. Lots of seating inside or outside. Clean bathroom. Great service and stunning view of the bridge. Highly recommend stopping here for a bite. Best margarita I've had in SF too!

Dark interior, typical dive bar atmosphere, large covered patio in the back where they serve food, with plenty of tables and seating. There were a few counter stools inside where the stage is set up for live music events. They only accept cash at the bar, but they have ATM's on site. We had a few drinks, a couple beers, standard cocktail, and the John Daly (fizzy) which was quite good with a nice sweetness to it. The place got packed later into the evening, but the crowd was just the right amount of crazy, and we had a good time. I also appreciated that there wasn't a long wait for the restrooms like at some other nightclubs and bars. I heard this place is closing down soon. Glad I got to experience it at least once, especially with the shark-themed musical performance setting the mood for the night.

Although it was busy (not packed), we were immediately greeted by a beautiful soul and smile, by the name of Christiana! I didn't notice if there was a DJ or not but the music was THUMPIIIIN (not all bass.. just fun! lol) They were still serving food at 10pm, although I am not sure if late night serving was due to the special event. We had one order of 3 tacos and split it (they were gone before I blinked), Calamari, and fries were large portions. Drinks were good! Tucked away as a speakeasy vibe and moody, golden lighting, it's the kind of place that feels like a secret you're lucky to be in on. The ambiance is sultry and sophisticated, with just the right touch of mystery. But the real alchemy? That's Manny behind the bar. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel like regulars. His energy is warm, his knowledge is deep, and his cocktails? Absolute works of art. He asked what flavors I liked and crafted something completely off-menu that was hands-down one of the best drinks I've ever had. Watching him work is like watching a performance precise, passionate, and full of flair. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming, and the music set the perfect tone for a night of conversation and connection. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just looking for a memorable night out, The Alchemist delivers on every level. Pro tip: Sit at the bar and ask for Manny. I eyed their Bento Box, in which I chose the Chicken Teriyaki, and the Tempura for my items. It comes with a salad, and a scoop of rice. All that for $20. My food came very hot! I was so pleased! My tempura was particularly great, with a thinner batter, and crispy and hot. I also got the chicken teriyaki, which was chicken breast grilled, and quite good, just a little more on the heavier grilled side. Still juicy though. Portions were a little small here, but overall I loved the food. I will have to come back for another Bento box someday, or bring my family here after work.
