My friend found the red room bar via a Google search. It's located inside of printemp, a luxury department store. It's beautiful inside and made me think of old movies where the stars grabbed a cocktail while shopping. The attention to detail was easy to see. The ice cubes were imprinted with the store's logo. Some of the drinks even had the name floating on top. This isn't a place I would frequent, but it's worth a visit and the photo ops.

Cozy, stylish, moody. Stopped in while visiting the Printemps store and really enjoyed the vibe. The espresso martinis were exceptional, rich and perfectly made, though somewhat pricey. Definitely feels like an ideal spot for a date night or special occasion. Service was good.

You'd think that this bar being one of the main concepts of the shop, it would live up to the hype of excellent service and ambiance. It was alright at best. Starting with the pricing - some of the generic cocktails were more expensive than food, $30+ ? Servers are not attentive and service is exceptionally slow considering they have 7 or 8 tables to service at most. Ordered two drinks right with food order. Waited 20 minutes for two cocktails and then another 15 or so minutes for food to come out. Had water poured when we sat down, no pitcher left on the table and no refills either. Lastly, the bar staff decided that instead of having two large trash bins one was enough and it was acceptable to be replacing that large bag of trash in the middle of service. Gross. If it wasn't for the bar food being good, this would have gotten 2 stars. Not at all fitting the concept of French luxury nor the vibe the store is aiming for. GYT cocktail - mostly a solid block of clear ice in a tall glass. Tasted okay but horrible for the price. Red juice with a splash of sparkling wine - $14 for the juice and another $9 for a droplet of champagne? Really? Had to ask for the cheaper option before they stuck us with a droplet of an expensive bottle Crispy chicken sandwich - pretty good, on the small side though Pomme frites - best item of everything we ordered. If I had to go back I would get the pomme frite to go.

Awaiting my Sorbet-a Guava-Hibiscus with Ginger Lime Shaved Ice . Sounds refreshing for a warm day.

Very pleasant oasis away from the hustle and bustle of my great city :). Finding various Manhattan escapes are always a fun find. I enjoyed the refreshing Sorbet- Guava-Hibiscus--Refreshing with a kick of ginger lime shaved ice. July 2025. Inside Printemps-The Red Room Bar. Main Floor Very pleasant staff, service, tableware. Fun! A very nice treat. You deserve it! Stop by. NOTE--These days it's almost rare to pay in cash, we are so used to using a card to pay. (Sometimes it may even cost less to pay in cash, to avoid a small extra charge for the restaurant to handle the extra cost for cc usage). I paid in cash today, and the person who delivered my check, (not my server) and took the check, forgot to bring me my change. I had brought it to his attention that there was cash in the check holder, since there was a coin to keep things simple. Perhaps he misunderstood and thought I also meant bye-bye, just because I said there is cash in here LOL. I don't know , but pay attention if you are paying in cash, that's all. Enjoy!!

The good is that the Red Room at Printemps is so rad to visit. The ambiance is unbeatable, it's moody and a little hidden and it feels like the perfect girls night out spot. Unfortunately I had a pretty bizarre experience here when I tried to walk-in on a rainy weekday with a party of four. It was quiet but the tables were mostly taken. Hours before we came there were a ton of reservations so we didn't think it was necessary because we only wanted drinks -- we were wrong. Apparently you cannot stand by the bar at all. There were three open seats but they wouldn't even let one friend stand between them so we were forced to wait. Okay, no problem, they said it would be 20 minutes. It happens. Well, an hour passes and finally I go up to ask about it -- they shrug and say well you can order drinks and sit on the couches by the shoes if you want while you wait. Okay, sure. Kinda wish we'd known than an hour ago. We order our $20+ cocktails and sit around... for another half hour. Still no table, no bar, nothing. We ask what the deal is, again they shrug and say sorry no dice. I note there's a whole new crop of folks sitting at the bar. We close our check and leave. I'm a very patient and reasonable person, but the experience was pretty lame. At bare minimum by the time an hour passed they should have reached out to us (sitting across the room a mere 10 second walk from their podium) to update us on the situation. We felt pretty forgotten about, which was just kinda dumb when we were sitting there staring at them the whole time. But whatever! I will say the cocktails were pretty darn tasty. I had a pink pony club and it was lovely. But they just don't seem to have their stuff together so make a reservation or wait at your own peril.

Sexy little bar with great classy entry to the main dining room Maison Passerelle. Highly recommend ordering the Pink Pony Club! With Pommes Frites of course! Delightful service, the staff is so lovely. Definitely a pre-dinner cocktail bar or great place to meet.

This was so delicious all around. The fries were some of the best I have had in the city, which is weird to say for fries, but they were coated in a malt vinegar dust and served with two lovely sauces. The doctor's orders cocktail was perfect for this time of year. I'll be back!

Every time I visit The Red Room at Maison Passerelle, I'm reminded why it's my absolute favorite restaurant in New York. The food is consistently outstanding; layered with texture, freshness, and flavor that feels both elevated and comforting. From the perfectly crisp pommes frites to the glazed honeynut squash bursting with spice and sweetness, every dish shows such thoughtful execution. The balance of flavors and presentation is just beautiful. Even something as simple as a fried chicken sandwich feels like a work of art here. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with a cozy glow that makes every evening feel special. It's the perfect mix of sophistication and playfulness. Highly recommend for anyone who loves vibrant flavors, creative cuisine, and a dining experience that feels personal every time.

Great cocktails in the Red Room Bar at Printemps. If you are shopping at Printemps, or just in need of a respite, this is your special place.

Ordered a Cadillac Margarita (Casamigos) for me + Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) for my partner + thick Fries + Slice of Chocolate Cake Drinks weren't anything special but the fries were hreat and cake hit the spot. Actually, I'm so glad we stumbled in because their cute and short food menu is PERFECTION for lovers of small bites -- crab dumplings, caviar deviled eggs, spicy tuna crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, oysters, sardines, etc... Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. Our waitress was fabulous and so friendly, great with timing and checking in!

While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. We got the Butterscotch flip, Getaway driver, and Big trouble. These drinks were not it. Although the prices are okay($19 each), they definitely need some improvement. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill. It was especially frustrating because we were the only ones in the bar at this point and we could hear them chatting downstairs. Overall, both service and the drinks need improvement. He is the best mixologist in NYC. He danced with lemon slices cutting through pours of clear liquids from heights. He tossed and shook, and was precise and caring. A true artist. David made our night. The only reason I would ever walk back into this place is to sit at the bar and let David mesmerize me. FOOD: Broccoli rabe was fresh, but I needed a steak knife to cut through it. It was very al dente. Not cut properly, which is to cut crosses in the stems. Salad was fresh and crisp, high quality fennel and greens. Lovely. Agnoletti was divine. Home made. Focaccia very good with subtle flavors and just the right crust. Olive oil, good. The front of house staff was lovely, two ladies, and a friendly guy. Super lovely. Treated us like friends. Also the busboys were all gentlemen. I loved them. They brushed crumbs off the table with panache. The only complaint is the waiter was robotic, and issued rule after rule. No smile. EX: It was a freezing night. We wanted to order appetizer's first, and have a chance to look at the menu. He couldn't do that. "I need the whole order." Then one of us wanted to order the pre fixe dinner. "You can't do that. You both have to order it." He was very cold, a robot. To enjoy ourselves, we had to push through the horrible treatment. Too bad for the waiter, when I asked about the special pasta, he butchered the pronunciation, giving me a soft pitch to teach him Italian. I blasted him. C'est la vie.
