Amazing rolls & butter, crispy wings, tasty burger and cold beer! Pleasantly surprised by this dinner stop on September 7 2026!

The food was extremely disappointing. The chicken was incredibly dry, and the so-called "vegetables" were so unrecognizable that I honestly couldn't tell what I was eating. The service wasn't much better. Our server seemed completely uninterested in being there, which made an already disappointing meal even worse. It was practically empty during dinner, and after our experience, I can understand why. Save yourself the time and money -- there are far better places to eat. read more

The server was a nice young man, but I quickly realized he was overwhelmed or distracted. My order was simple: grilled chicken breast, mixed vegetables, and cottage cheese (yeah, a GLP-1 meal) He brought the cottage cheese right away. 20 minutes later I was looking for my meal. I tried waving him down, but finally had to track him down. He claimed the kitchen was backed up - but other diner's meals were coming out. I asked him to go check, then he appeared with my meal. I still tipped excessively. I don't berate someone that young. But here's a life tip: timing matters. read more

Tonight marked the final dinner for me and my family of 5 on our 16 hour road trip halfway across the country... and what better way to spend it than at the Red River Roadhouse in Clarion. Our waitress Jaclyn was nothing short of incredible, she was the only waitress I've ever had that was able to telepathically sense (from across the room) that I was in need of water, and swiftly made her way over to fill it up without me even asking. The food was on another level. The half rack of ribs was juicy and tender, with perfect balance in the sauce to seasoning ratio. The food was cooked to perfection, my compliments to the chef. In conclusion, my night at the Red River Roadhouse was nothing short of exceptional. And though I may live hundreds of miles away, I will ALWAYS make the effort to return and enjoy the food, service, and ambiance that is the Red River Roadhouse. read more

Stopped at the RRR for dinner on a Thursday in late March. Not real busy for the dinner hour. Lighting was a little dark for my taste, but that's a minor personal preference. Waitress was nice and responsive. Steak and fries were good - wanted more flavor out of the steak, but still good. In and out in about 45 minutes. read more

I'm really surprised to see the bad reviews for this restaurant. We must have hit a good night. Stuffed mushrooms weee awesome. Filet mignons were cooked to perfection. Salads and sides were good. We sat at the bar and Mariah took great care of us. We loved the place. read more

Upon arriving, the hostess greeted us with a smile and seated us promptly. Our waiter, Xavier, was very polite and knowledgeable. But our food was not as expected. My big mac & cheese was probably sitting the lamp in the kitchen for a while, my wife's "tender " pork chop was ok...it came with a loaded, baked potato, and the sour cream tasted horrible! And she let the waiter know, and he was very sympathetic... overall, we will probably go back at some point. But not to order what we had ordered before. read more

Steak and ribs were incredible as always! Perfectly cooked and delicious. Kids meals are huge. Always a must stop when we are in Clarion.

Went here for lunch around 12:30pm and it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took at least 20 minutes just to get a beer refill. After waiting quite a while for our meals, the waitress finally came back and told us our food had never even been put into the system. Only then did she place the order, which meant even more waiting. When the food finally arrived, my wife's steak was supposed to be medium but came out extremely rare--barely cooked. By that point, we were already frustrated and just wanted to finish up and leave. I also asked for another beer that never showed up. We ended up paying $125 for three people for a meal that took forever, had multiple service issues, and wasn't cooked correctly. After we asked for the check, no one followed up or tried to make things right. Overall, very disappointing experience and not somewhere we'd recommend. read more

This is a local mall business and it's good if you're staying in a local hotel or rest area. The beer prices reasonable I am from the Buffalo area so when I ordered wings extra crispy I'm a pretty harsh judge. The bartenders were very friendly and good listeners. I had a few pints in the bar area that was clean and quiet on a Wednesday night with a snow front coming in the area. I took my wings to go. I am certain they were probably frozen. This is not a bad thing as they were definitely cooked as I requested, ( you can always tell fresh though). The sauce was good and if you like spicy wings... you can order here and keep a favorite spicy bottle in your car/house. The coating on the wings to add the crispy crust made the wings really worthwhile. I also heard a guy at the bar order the ribs and he seemed to really enjoy them. read more

My wife and I stopped in while passing through the area and getting fuel. It really was a nice little spot however it took a while for our food. That said the food was very good! I truly enjoyed the spinach salad with the warm bacon dressing. I also got to enjoy a bit of my wife's blue cheeseburger. The homemade chips were delicious as well. We left with a piece of pumpkin cheesecake for later that night. We sure did a great job checking up on us. We appreciated the stop overall. Keep up the great work. read more

This place is absolutely not what it's cracked up to be! A "steakhouse" - ha! More like a step below Applebees but trying to be a step above. The front desk attendant at the hotel I was staying at suggested this place. I got a 10% discount card (thank you!), but I would have been better off picking up something frozen at Aldis around the corner and microwaving it in my room. Soup of the day was chicken noodle, which was mostly mushy overcooked pasta noodles in a slimy broth, and it was not hot! I ordered a basic salad and added chicken, but it was just more disappointment. For nine whole dollars I got a little helping of grilled chicken, which was salty, which means low quality. At times, the lettuce tasted like fish or bacon, couldn't really make up my mind. It was supposed to come with cucumbers, but they were tiny little slices hiding at the bottom of the salad. I guess the scary part was the olive oil for dressing alongside red wine vinegar. It hardly came out and there were floaties in it. Yuck. It all seemed so promising when we sat down, though, because the warm rolls that showed up right away with a dollop of honey butter (I think that's what it was) were incredible. Yes please to those! Service was OK. Nice girls, but they would be better off finding a gig somewhere more promising! Turn back now while you can, sweethearts! Ambiance was mid. A little too big. Maybe put the money into food quality first. read more

Food was very good! Started with rolls. We had a Prime Rib Dip and Cod sandwich. We couldn't believe the portion sizes. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Cod. For me, I enjoyed the potato soup. I requested some horseradish for the prime rib. It was very filling and was tasty. I'm not quite sure if I liked Gouda cheese on the sandwich. I guess I'm used to another flavor. We would stop again. The RRRoadhouse doesn't look too appealing from the outside and the poorly maintained parking lot. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of A Texas Roadhouse. Nice decor and well maintained. Service by Michele was great. She signed the name on the tablecloth backwards. Skill! lol. read more

Waited at the hostess station for a full five minutes, which I could have handled, but 2 employees were standing in the hall talking and an employee walked from the kitchen to the dining area and then back and not one person even attempted to talk to me or get someone to seat me. I left and went somewhere else. Everyone is always saying to support your local small business but the reason a lot of them are struggling and going out of business is their own fault. read more

Crab cakes were very watery inside (probably frozen, thawed and then cooked). Mac n Cheez Whiz, (need I say more?). Hubby's steak was good. Place is clean, service okay but would not dine there again or recommend. read more

Service was horrible. The waitress came to our table 1 time to see how we were. The staff seemed more concerned about the social lives then to attend to their customers. The bread was raw and the baked potato tasted old. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Ever had a prime rib sandwich with chunks of gristle and a 1/2 inch bone chip in it? Neither had I until yesterday. Almost as much cheese as on it as meat. No au jus, just some white stuff that's supposed to be french onion flavored. Their fries are the pre-frozen, starch-coated fast-food kind. The staff and the place itself were fine but the food was terrible. read more

Started off rough almost ready to walk out. 3 girls standing at counter talking to their friend as I stood patient waiting to be seated for 10 min very frustrating. I said finally can I please be seated and they looked at me like I was the issue. No you have a job to do like the rest of the planet ! My waitress Lydia was excellent such a friendly attentive and nice person to talk to. Thank you for making the night at dinner better. Food was terrific nothing to complain about. Nice restaurant inside as well. Manager ... Teach your staff their friends aren't more important than customers ! read more

This place reminds me of a poor Outback knock off with 90s decor. The menu was lackluster. I usually get a salad but the choices were not thrilling so I played it safe and got the chicken nugget appetizer and the " fresh Cajun chips" . The chips were not fresh nor even warm and well on their way to being stale. The fried chicken was ok until I got home and realized they had very old grease in the frier as I was shitting through the eye of a needle a 10 paces. My husband had the wings and French onion soup. He had the same experience with the BR Olympics and reported the soup tasted like Campbells with a few croutons tossed in. Sooooo....unless you like completion defecating I suggested anywhere else. The wait staff also looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. I sign I should have heeded. read more

My wife and I regularly stay at a motel close to the RRR. We have eaten there for the past six years. The motel used to give us a discount coupon we could use at the RRR. In our most recent stay, the motel no longer had the coupons for RRR but had them for another local restaurant. They said we could show RRR our room key and possibly get the discount. We we arrived at the RRR we asked the seating hostess if we could get the discount with proof of our stay at the referring motel. Her reply was "Sir, I don't know anything about that" with no offer to find out. We then requested a table instead of a booth. She offered a table in a cramped location about two feet from a long table where six road construction workers wete eating. Since many other tables were vacant I asked if we could have a quieter table with more room and pointed to one. She replied "No Sir, I can't do that" I also noticed the RRR was only about a quarter full of diners. I didn't appreciate her callous attitude and lack of caring so we immediately left. We found another restaurant close by that was friendlier, more accomodating, food was better and cheaper. Goodbye RRR. I won't return. read more

Went for lunch on a Yelpers recommendation and lunch didnt disappoint. I got the prime rib sandwich and my partner had the angus burger both done perfectly. I had the loaded potato soup which was very hearty and delicious. I really thought this place was going to be promising. The staff was attentive as we walked in and the bread rolls where very tasty. Then came the side salad but when the meal arrived it looked like we just received steaks from 5 years ago that had been boiled to try and be revived and potatoes that had been drug through the mud. When we stated the food was bad, the server wasn't in any way shocked and said I understand. Took the food away and nothing else happened. We ended up leaving after 10 minutes. Worst experience ever. read more

My wife and I have eaten here before when we stayed at the nearby hotel on our way west. Food was just as good as the last time. My wife loved her griller Salad with Steak Tips (without the sprinkle of fries) (?) I had a Build Your Own Burger with lettuce, pickles, provolone and tomato. - medium. It was very tasty and juicy! My guiness went down great with it! Service was very good. We will definitely stop here again on our next trip. read more

Griller salad had many pieces of rotten or browning lettuce. When server came to check on us, I mentioned it and was told "Oh, I see, sorry about that" No offer to speak to manager or correct it The second time that's happened with a food order...apparently the waitstaff (and kitchen) could use some more training. The grilled salmon on the salad was also overcooked. read more

With a sever named Angel who was a good sport and attentive server how could this place go wrong? The decor was full of racing memorabilia and neat lil country type artifacts with my favorite 80's music filling the air we started our graduation fiasco with a array of appetizers Shrimp cocktail, soft pretzels, mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, loaded potatoes skins and stuffed crab mushrooms. No the question is what kind of crab? Imitation and filler big let down for the family crab aficionado. As we waited for entrees a mega mass of food there was wings with sweet chili sauce ribs with steak medallions grilled shrimp the grilled chicken and broccoli with Mac and cheese with each entree. I must say The portions are substantial and the food was delicious the ribs were tender the steak the grilled shrimp was slightly over cooked because of the texture and my broccoli was soggy like it was boiled too long but all in all this quaint local dogs pulled a 4 start out of the foodie family The entire group had a take home box and never made it to dessert Worth the trip. Highlight is the butter rolls get em eat them enjoy them read more

Second visit to this fine establishment. Arrived with a party of 9 and was told 45 minute wait which was confusing since the place looked to only be at 50% capacity. Either way we got seated in about 10 minutes. Great waitress. Very prompt with drinks and attentive service Overall the food was very good. Would recommend to stick to burgers, and basics which were very good. Few that got shrimp scampi were not overly impressed. The beer battered cod sandwich was outstanding!!! Thanks again to the staff for great service and better than Applebee's grub read more

Was really hoping things would be a lot better than when it was the previous restaurant. While everything tasted "ok", there was nothing spectacular about our meal, and a lot of it had temperature issues. For example, my salad was actually warm, where as it should be cold...obviously. My main entree, the Smothered Ground Sirloin, tasted ok, although it was unseasoned. However, it was "cool", and the vegetable medley that came with it was very cold, borderline "just out of the freezer". The rolls that a lot of the reviews have been raving about were cold and stiff. Very disappointed with this. The only thing I truly liked was the french onion soup, and the chicken "chunks", which were actual tenders. Our service started out great, but then dwindled from there. Had to ask for any refills, which is one of my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant. Not sure I would go out of my way to go back. I am willing to give another try at some point, but I don't think i'd make it my first choice if given other options. read more

It was after the dinner rush when we got there. A brief wait and seated in a comfortable booth, our waiter was quick to take and return with our drink orders. Chicken fingers for one, chicken salad for another, and a 6oz filet with side salad and a baked potato for me. All parties were very pleased with their orders, my filet was cooked just as I ordered it. No room for dessert, as our meals were plentiful. I would definitely recommend and look forward to a return visit. read more

This is the place to go if you're staying In the area. That said, it is pretty average food at best. They have a good selection on their menu mostly geared toward BBQ, steaks etc. The BBQ chicken wasn't very good although they make a decent French onion soup. I got boneless wings on a different occasion that were served cold. It's better than the fast food options but not a great restaurant. The beer selection is ok and they have a full bar. read more

We pulled into Clarion, PA around 7:45 on a Thursday night after spring since 10:30 from northern MI. We were headed for NJ and trying to get ahead of a predicted storm. The front desk clerk at the hotel suggested RRR because the food was good-and they were open until 9:00. So we tried it. We got a crock of French onion soup, a spinach bacon salad, a Griller salad with added salmon. The French onion soup was piping hot, topped with croutons and plenty of melty cheese. The smaller croutons made it so much more pleasant to eat than a giant single croutons. The spinach salad was served with a generous amount of crumbled bacon, a yummy hot bacon dressing, and two slices of bacon that were slightly underdone for my taste. But I'm an "extra crispy " kind of diner when it comes to bacon. The Griller salad-now here's the novel idea. It's a great garden salad featuring hard cooked egg, cheese, and topped with a nice handful of...FRENCH FRIES! The best of both worlds!! Healthy and well, not. But really tasty. I added salmon-and it was a super large portion. Delicious!! And the prices are amazing! And all served up by Lauren, who was charming, friendly, attentive, and didn't get grumpy when we were the last table in the place. Ask for Lauren when you visit RRR! It's worth the stop.
