As kids I used to stop at this place all the time to get food. I thought this was gourmet when I was a kid. Me and my wife as adults we still stop here every time we go to the Gateway Lodge. Service is always nice and the food is like homemade food and it always looks beautiful in there because of all the old sawmill stuff. read more

One of the few places in the area which offers breakfast during the week. Food was not what I would consider very tasty. Serving was average, price average but service was SLOW, and I do mean SLOW. Not many patrons in the place when I was there so it is not like they were overwhelmed with orders. When you order coffee, you do expect to see the staff bring around the coffee pot more than every twenty minutes or so. Ambiance was meh ! Decor could really use a serious updating. My guess is they have generally slow business and do not want to put any money into the place to be able to make a profit. But, that is only my guess. Would likely not go back unless nothing else was open. read more

The food was delicious! The staff was very friendly & suggested some food options. Very nice little restaurant! My dad's a logger & I just love the decorations & beautiful wood work in this place. Highly recommend if you're in the area or looking for a place that's out of the norm! read more

We just recently visited the Sawmill Center after many years.. oh how I have missed this place. I loved browsing the items in the shop. So many good from local merchants!!! Local homemade masks.. $5.00 a piece.. so we picked up a few. Very clean restrooms too. I could of shopped at the store for hours. I purchased two masks but lost one.. The mask pictured in my photo we must've washed maybe a dozen times since we purchased it and it's held up nicely. I wish we would've bought more. We will be heading back to Cook Forest again this year and will post another update . Bonus - just behind the sawmill is the emerald trail!!! Its short and a must see... take the dirt road near the entrance to the sawmill. Cook Forest is amazing!!! read more

We had a great hearty breakfast here this morning! I had an omelette and my husband had pancakes. We could only eat about 1/2 of what we ordered. The prices were reasonable and the food was tasty. We're going back again tomorrow while we're still in town! read more

I would recommend people to stay away from this place. Food was terrible. The sausage and bacon were not fully cooked. It took an hour to get food and drinks. The girl with the nose ring had attitude because she had to do her job and proceeded to say it was busy when we were the only customers in there. Food was good, except homefries at room temperature and greasy, service was lousy. Waited hour and half for breakfas only couple tables taken. Went to counter 3 times for coffee but none was available, 3 empty pots. Table on other side of room had hair in the biscuits and gravy, they took hair out and gave back to her. They should close up, maybe get someone else to buy it. Very apparent they cannot manage a restaurant with very few customers. Now I know why they make you pay when you place your order. read more

Typical "bar" food in the forest (they do sell take out beer). You walk up to a counter, order, and within 10-15 minutes the food appears at your table. Everyone at the table had a burger except me. I ordered the chicken patty sandwich. Everyone really liked their burgers and I was pretty upset I didn't order one myself. The chicken was good but the burgers looked amazing! Most of the table got the bacon burger and the bacon was properly cooked. Even the fries were pretty tasty! The in laws got milkshakes and loved those too. After dinner I was so full but I decided to get ice cream anyways. The ice cream is soft serve and there were three flavors. I was really hopeful for raspberry but not this day! We'll go back again as my in laws live very close. The food was good and so was the service in my eyes. read more

Covid-horror show. When I entered there was a sign on the door that said the staff appreciates the public wearing masks while ordering. I felt good about this and proceeded. A young lady was taking orders at the cash register and working the floor. I felt bad for her because it was a Sunday at 10am and she was the only server/ hostess. She did not have her mask over her nose. Then an unmasked gentlemen left his spot with a group of diners to come back to the kitchen to assist her. As I ordered I looked at the cook who wasn't wearing a mask either. I asked the man who had just walked into the kitchen area about it. He said "I don't make my cooks wear masks." Not okay. I later found out he was the maintenance man, not the owner so I don't know why he chose to word the sentence as though he made the rules. The maintenance man then continued to walk around helping the young lady out (which was kind, but not Covid-compliant) pouring coffee and bringing plates to tables. Then he sat down with friends. A friend to the left of him sneezed (unmasked of course) and a few minutes later the maintenance man who was sneezed next to got up and helped some more. If I get Covid from this restaurant, I'm calling the health department. The food was excellently cooked and tasty. I would have given it 5 stars if the place were Covid compliant. No one wants to fear for their health when entering an establishment they believe is Covid compliant and then is not. It's attitudes about health codes and service such as this that make Covid compliant individuals not want to get back to normal. This effects local economies, especially small town places people have hearts to support. read more

Have eaten here over the years many times, first time I have sent food back. They refunded me the cost without argument. Waited when we entered, waited quite a while for the food to be disappointed and never saw the waitress after food was delivered. Probably won't be back unless things change. read more

Been here, saw this. Wish I didn't. I got a cinnamon roll which was so incredibly dry that I couldn't even finish it. I also got overpriced mac & cheese to go & it took over 20 min (which I understand is partly due to covid) to be ready, even though it was clearly off brand kraft mac n cheese...They're out here charging triple for a portion of boxed mac n cheese that, for the record, could be way cheesier. Didn't know it was possible to mess up a box of mac until I visited this spot. The coffee wasn't even good, and my expectations for that were lowwwww to begin with. Been coming here for years, staff seems to be continually getting more miserable as time goes on. Do not be in a hurry if you want to eat here,for your breakfast will take at least 45 min to 1 hour no matter how few people are in there. Food is average and getting more and more expensive. No customer service awards tonight. Wait staff seems angry that there's customers here. Called for 3 pizzas, was told it would be 25 minutes..... When I arrived 25 minutes later....I was yelled at that I was told it'd be 25 minutes...40 minutes later, no pizza. Clocks function differently here. read more

Stopped here for the second time today. Very happy with the service and food! Burgers are so good and big! We had our dog with us today so we were waiting outside for our food. They were even nice enough to bring the food out for us! 2 employees even stopped and chatted with us for a little while. Very friendly and welcoming environment. The owner raises the prices of everything on the menu almost .25$ a year. You will get subpar food. You will pay too much. Bad management and ownership, and your experience will reflect that. Just avoid this place, unless you enjoy paying 15$ for a McDonald's quality meal. read more
