Haven't been here since my 3 kids were little. Stopped at the beginning of June 2026, for lunch. Restaurant is a large nicely decorated barn. It was freezing cold in there. Servers in long pants and hoodies. Patrons who had sweaters had them on. Salad bar pretty typical. Hot food bar not open. Hot food bar open only on the weekends. My adult children recently ate at the hot food bar and said it was delicious. Our server was young and inexperienced and could use more trading. I ordered a cheesesteak and fries which was large and delicious. I didn't get my mayo and had to track down our server because she never checked on us after delivering our food. I asked for mayo and she brought me 1 packet for this humongous sandwich. Had to track her down for drink refills also. She was very nice and we still tipped her well, but like I said she could definitely use more training. It wasn't busy at all. Us and 2 other tables were filled. Other people started coming in while we were leaving. Hubby had country fried steak. All food was delicious. Had to ask for check to pay. We then sat on rocking chairs on porch laughing about restaurant Patrons coming out of restaurant to their cars to fetch sweaters and jackets. Then we walked around the corner and had soft serve ice cream with chocolate sprinkles which was delicious! Would go again and would recommend. First time eating there. LOVED the rustic charm and the Big open dining area...and was able to seat my husband & his family 7 all total immediately. We think the waitress was new because she forgot to ask if anyone with sandwiches, would they like fries or a side with that, or what dressing they want with their dinner salads. Other than that, the food was great. And they had a salad bar. But for the price of that I could have had a dinner salad with a protein on it for a hair more. Now I know. They have a petting zoo, mini golf, panning for gold spot, & a driving range on the grounds. Ice cream too. Nice place to eat and take the family for a reasonable price. read more

I have been a fan of the Farmers Inn for a long time. I was sad when I hear about the fire. The renovations are amazing!!! The inside is just beautiful! The bulk food that was in the front part of the parking lot is now moved to the rear of the building. Similar items are offered. The building near the parking lot offers apparel for sale. The restrooms located in the rear of the building are larger in size- thank you! Always a fun trip to the Farmers Inn.. I look forward to the next time. read more

We were visiting some friends in nearby Oil City and Farmer's Inn was one of the many fun places they took us to while we were upstate. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Farmer's Inn (I loved the decor and whole set up of the place) and then of course went to the zoo and visited the nice little shops as well (I did not come home empty handed!). Food was okay, nothing spectacular. My issue would be the buffet & service. Our waitress did not tell us they had an age limit of 7 & under on the kids buffet. $10 for kid and $20 for adult. So when both my kids got the buffet including myself I was shocked to see how expensive my bill was. Both my kids are 12 & under. My waitress should have told us the ages, especially since I asked a couple questions about the buffet in the first place. So we got charged $25 more then we should (my 2 yr old got charged $5 for eating a square of jello from the buffet) have and they made no attempt to help amend anything, we got shrugged off. Had the most horrible dining experience here. Should have turned around and left when the one lady just turned the sign from 'wait to be seated' to 'seat yourselves' without even acknowledging me standing right next to the sign after she talked to and took the other couple to sit. Then we got stuck with a rude waitress "Christine" WOW. Almost walked off without asking about what my 2 year old would like to drink AND eat. Was just rude all around, gave us the cold shoulder. I had grabbed my own menus and of course some coloring pages for my child, but when she accidentally got them back "Those are coloring pages I don't need them!" Did she ever offer to get crayons so my child COULD color? Nope. How would I know where they are if I am a tourist? I had to grab them off a nearby table (none was at ours) She was so nice to the tables around us, but not to us. I can't understand what we had ever done for her to be a bitch to us for, the ONLY thing that I can even begin to think was the reason was because my boyfriend isn't white and if that's the case then she probably shouldn't work somewhere where tourists go or work in public period. The cashier that checked us out my sister in law and I where bitching and he never once apologized for her actions. Go for the little "petting" zoo. DO NOT eat at this establishment. Overcharged mediocre food that you can literally get anywhere else for less AND better staff. Plus side was the Zoo staff was super nice and pleasant to talk to. read more

Great place to visit for lunch as well as entertainment especially during this Covid..... They've got good meals, fairly big menu, at very affordable prices... They've also got a couple stores,a bakery, and an animal sanctuary with all kinds of animals to pet and feed.... As well as some you can't pet like bears and wolves, etc..... We stopped 6/9 about lunch. 12:30. I ordered the fish dinner. Came with baked potatoe, tossed salad, roll, 2 large ppcs. fish and a cookie. Wife ordered bowl of broccoli cheese soup and mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent! The waitress was caring and knew when we needed ahead of time. A must for anyone traveling in the Cook Forest, Clear Creek, or lower Allegheny Forest area. Plan a whole day to be there; they have: -Restaurant: sandwiches, burgers, American country style dinners, breakfast (buffet on the weekend), lunch, steaks, kids meals. They generally dont take reservations unless you are planning a banquet. -icecream parlor: indoor and outdoor seating, hard and soft serve, home made desserts, Apple dumplings, pies, strawberry and peach shortcake. You can also order food to go at the parlor. You can order at the window or call in and pick it up. -animal zoo: dont feel sorry that these guys are in cages. I know the employees work hard to care for these animals as individuals. They all have names and are spoiled! They have black bears, cougars, a leapord, a monkey, your full list of farm animals, deer, racoon, bob cat....Susie the three toed sloth and more! -bulk store aka The Smokehouse: candy, canned and dry goods, snacks, cereal, baking ingredients, spices, bottled sodas, camping supplies, milk, deli service meats and cheeses. They also have a smoker in there and serve smoked chicken dinners there on the weekend. -Gift Shop (Restaurant): tee shirts, souvineers, baked goods (bread, cookies), fudge, home decor. -Furniture Store: beautiful Amish built wood furniture, home decor, some times seasonal and discounted items from the gift shop. -driving range and mini golf: driving range and 18 hole minigolf is located at the furniture store. Theres a 9 hole mini golf located next to the bulk store that I recommend for kids (although I've heard they might take that one out but not sure) and I think there's a mini golf at The Outpost. -The Outpost: mini golf, playground, laser shooting range, pan for gems, gift shop, collectables. Across Route 949 there are rustic cabins for rent as well as a fishing supplies store that sells live bait. Lots to do and the people there are really nice! Avoiding the buffet, I ordered the three-piece Broasted Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. My eyes were obviously bigger than my stomach because when the waitress brought out my plate all I could think was, Wow! Although I like two large breasts as much as the next guy, there was no possible way I was finishing both of them plus an additional wing after eating a garden salad. If you are in the area, you have to visit this place; It's a local favorite as well as a busy tourist spot in the summer months (closed during winter months) ...but make sure you plan to be there for at least half a day because they've got a lot of things to do: -Country Restaurant + Buffet (breakfast/lunch/dinner) -Local gift shop -Petting zoo -Ice cream parlor -Dry goods store -Driving range (golf) -3 mini golf courses -Amish furniture store -Large play area for kids, with panning for gold, and a fun BB gun range inside -Cabins The restaurant serves great home cooked food to order, or you can get the buffet, which is always changing and has a great variety. Try out their breakfast too! This restaurant started out as a little tiny place, which still exists inside as one of three seating areas in the restaurant. They've built upon this single restaurant to create a pretty large venue, as you can see. The gift shop has a lot of locally branded stuff in it like tee shirts and mugs, (and a ton more) so you can get your share of Pennsylvania Wilds paraphernalia. The petting zoo has everything from bears and deer, to more random exotic animals and birds. They keep adding more every year, so you never know what you'll find. The ice cream parlor is just yummy, so many options. Hard or soft ice cream, tons of toppings, milkshakes, and blizzard type shakes, as well as coffee and smoothies. The dry goods store has everything from candy, to baking needs, and other bulk dry and canned food. The Amish furniture store has country style wood indoor and outdoor furniture, enough to furnish every room in the house. They recently added the play area for kids in the past few years. It's got lots of swings and play sets for the kids to play on, and one of the mini golf courses is right next to it. This use to be our favorite weekend place to go however after they opened there new building I observed today that the seating is tight the buffet is limited (not even cheese or croutons for the salad) also my wife observed water being added to the lasagna to it in our mind to stretch the sauce out longer also no desserts unless you want to buy it separately then to top off this unsatisfying meal the bill for 5 3adults 2 young children it was $102 when our same group use to pay around $65 before the place was rebuilt and our meal choices have not changed this year the only thing good was that the food that was there tasted very good other than the lasagna which I did not try due to the above statement and the salad was fresh but limited toppings read more

This is a great place for a family to spend the day. Lots of things to do and see; a hidden gem but the restaurant really is not good and very overpriced for what you get. For example, I ordered a BLT salad. It was a tomato cut in four pieces on the bottom opened with lettuce thrown over it, a pickle spear (yes, I said pickle) in the middle, which was out of place and then the bacon was 5 under cooked strips strewn over top of everything. Really disgusting. And the hot buffet is $14.99 and the stuff is dried up as soon as they opened it on Friday at 4. Unbelievable. The rest of the stuff makes up for the restaurant. The restaurant building and area look nice and appealing but the food isn't very good. The staff is very friendly though. A big negative is the "wildlife park" or zoo located there. While some deer and peacocks seem to be enjoying themselves, most of the animals live in tiny cages and seem very distressed. In the small entrance building, a few baby animals live in tiny boxes, separated from their mothers (some baby foxes and baby lamb). The sight simply brought tears to my eyes. I ordered off the menu and got a forzen chicken breast on a small, untoasted, picnic style hamburger bun (the only thing on my plate) for 8 Bucks! Service was awful and grumpy. The kids zoo was FABULOUS for my one and two year old boys!!! Very well maintained and workers were so nice, they event my son help feed the goats and deer. Price was so cheap and it was the highlight of our trip, would really recommend it to people with small children! read more

This is a great place for everyone in the family! There's a lot to do and see and plenty of different foods to try along with many different deserts. There's 3 different mini golf courses (two 9 holes and one 18 holes), a driving range, panning for gems, a playground for the kids, an Amish furniture store, the bulk food store, the animal zoo (with a small fee), an ice cream parlor which has indoor and outdoor seating (with a variety of hard ice cream flavors and 3 flavors of soft ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, whirlwinds(like a blizzard), food, and drinks), and of course the restaurant with a hot buffet and salad bar and a full menu to choose from. The ice cream parlor sells popcorn made by the Farmers Inn also. Inside the restaurant there's a gift shop with many neat things for everyone in the family. They also sell homemade cookies (chocolate chip, sugar, raisin sugar, peanut butter, orange and raisin filled) and bread (rye, sunflower, white, and wheat) Everyone works together as a team/family to make all of the customers happy and pleased with their visit. read more
