We stopped overnight in Brookvale Pa. and found this small town pub/ restaurant with very friendly staff and a very full menu and bar. We had pasta carbonara and chicken wings. Both well prepared and delicious. 8 minutes off 80 into charming and historic town. A great alternative to chain junk food. Highly recommend!! read more

Came to Courthouse Grill & Pub after a Santa experience at the local YMCA and I'm glad we did! The Place is just down the road from where we were at and there was plenty of room at the table we chose for all of us to sit. We all enjoyed our meals and the waitress was friendly. The ease of checkout was exceptionally good. They had the QR reader in place. We will for sure go back and try a different meal next time. Enjoy! read more

After driving around for almost an hour to find a place to have breakfast in the area on a Thursday morning, we found the Courthouse Grill. Great place, so friendly, such a classic small town place. A pretty traditional breakfast but for the real potatoes and sausage which was terrific, not those skimpy little links. Friendly service, too. read more

Out and about looking for somewhere new to eat .. and in the mood for a tavern or pub food .. we decided to try this place. Walking in - we were stunned because we thought we were walking into a pub but it's a dining room. It felt like a cafeteria or banquet hall. The bar was downstairs in the basement ( we later learned) We sat down at one of the tables and reviewed the menu. There was so much on the menu - from tacos to burgers to steak. There was definitely more "Greek" type items on the menu than anything else. I felt like a gyro and assumed the lamb had to be fresh but it was the frozen kind already pre-sliced. It was still a good gyro. Our server was great. I doubt we will return. The food was average and we just didn't feel comfortable in the dining room it was just odd. read more

I would not recommend this establishment. I've ordered from the Courthouse on several occasions and I have 90% of the time been disappointed. They have forgotten/"not heard" orders and I have been charged different prices for the same order within the same week which is absurd. One night recently they complained about "turning on" basic cooking devices over an hour before closing and gave a lot of attitude about what they would make. It felt uncomfortable and then my food was thoroughly overcooked. Tip--adjust your kitchens hours of operation for COVID if in practice you are hoping to close earlier. Visited on a Tuesday morning, about 8. Server walked by me as I entered, never spoke to me. Seat yourself, so I did. Server walked by me 3 more times, never spoke or acknowledged me. Finally, she brought me a menu. And gave me about 35 seconds to make my choice. Based on how long it took her to acknowledge me, I figured I better order something NOW. I hastily order the pancakes. They had an odd taste to them. Not sure what spice it was, but it doesn't work. I took about 3 bites and couldn't take the spice. Thankfully another girl came out of the back and walked around to offer more coffee. Waited a long time for my bill, finally went to the counter to pay my bill. Not too far off the highway and a great change of pace from the usual franchise chains that dot the Interstate rest area. We had a large group of about a dozen people and we were seated quickly with no fuss. Our request for separate checks was met with a smile even though we had couples scattered all over the table which made it that much tougher for our server. This restaurant has an identity crises. The name says "grill & pub" but when you walk in, it has the feel of a family restaurant with cafe style overtones and service style. We came in before the after church crowd started in with large family groups 4-8 people at a time. Service was prompt and efficient, the kitchen served up the requested order quickly. We are traveling cross country and have been in a minimum of two restaurants a day for last 10 days. We would consider this a very good stop, actually quite surprising for an economically depressed community (or so a resident told me). We were impressed. My husband and I tried this restaurant and really liked it. We came back with our family a second time and I was berated by the owner after she made a steak Philly when I ordered a chicken Philly. The waitress informed me she was remaking it before it ever came to the table. I was polite and insisted it was no problem while my family started their meals. When it finally came out it wasn't what I intended to order and the waitress said let me see about remaking it. The owner came out from the back and said "what's wrong now?" I explained and she turned away and loudly said, "this is the third time I remake this." She threw her hands up in the air. I told her I don't want it then. Her tone of voice and manner was like a petulant child when she was the culprit of the mistake. The waitress profusely apologized and was great but I will not be back. 1st time visitor. Lunchtime on a Sunday . Ordered the Argentinian tacos . 4 small streets tacos with lettuce ,pico, cheese. Very tasty and filling. Also had the seared tuna appetizer which was amazing , albeit 15 dollars. Pricey but worth it. Grilled veggie appetizer was a fried tortilla bowl with lettuce , sautéed veggies not really grilled at all but again it was super tasty. Had onions, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots , cheese , mushrooms and some pico on it. All of it tasted super even though it was nothing like we assumed it would be like. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown "Historic Brookville" the Courthouse Grill & Pub is one of the few restaurants along Main Street. Heck, it's one of the few restaurants in the whole town, but anyway... There is plenty of seating, although I've never seen it really busy and filled. They offer decent traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner options, none of which will get you worked up on either the great or horrible side of the fence. Same goes for the service. However, the prices are very reasonable, but then again, remember where you are. read more

Driving across the country can be a big task but we are currently embarked on this adventure. We stopped today in this tiny little town known as Brookville. I thought it would be the worst place ever to get some food and enjoy the city, however I was pleasantly surprised. Brookville is the quaintest little town ever. We stopped at Courthouse thinking it would be a run of the mill, disappointing Americana type of establishment. I got their Saturday special of prime rib and I must say it was fantastic, easily the best prime rib I've ever had in my life (and I have MANY dishes to compare this to). My wife was less thrilled with her buffalo chicken salad, but said it was good for what it was. The menu is primarily Greek in composition, so expect a bunch of lamb dishes to populate the menu. The service was friendly and helpful, if a little young and inexperienced. My only complaint was that about half way through our meal, the owner I think sat down and started to loudly talk on her phone. The conversation didn't last long, so there was at least some solice. The wait staff deserves 4 stars. The reason I gave them 1 star was the kitchen staff needs to stay in the kitchen and cook, not run out to the dinning room every 5 minutes to yell at the wait staff about busing tables. This place was busy and only had 2 waitresses. The place was very dirty and needs updated. The carpet must be 20 years old and the rest rooms were terrible. We pulled off the highway to make a bathroom stop, wanted to find a nice quick place to grab food and drove into the quaint little town of Brookville. This was the only place open and we weren't sure about what we were in for... It was FANTASTIC. Friendly service. Generous portions of home cooked meals. We arrived just after the mid-day rush. Seating was at a premium and the wait staff was very busy. Within seconds of sitting down, we were asked by a harried server for our order. We politely asked for more time. She returned a bit later and professionally took our order. The food came out quickly, despite how busy the dining room appeared to be. It was tasty, reasonably priced and the portions very generous. Unfortunately, after serving us our food we didn't see our waitress again until the check was delivered. I have gone to this restaurant several times. Each time the food was good. The portions are hearty. There are some items like homemade gyros and other Greek dishes that are unique along with a host of other items. A lot of the meals are very reasonable in cost, but some of the meals seem a little pricey. It is homemade so more preparation is required, which may explain the cost of some of the more complex meals. Definitely above average and the folks are friendly. It is located directly across from the County Courthouse. Brookville is a beautiful little town. read more
