Our foursome stopped in to Vince's for dinner, I parked in front, and although I am handicap, purposely didn't park in the handicap spot, I mostly save that spot for a more handicapped patron than me.
My wife, my brother, sister and I entered the front door and some bigmouth, not ask but yelled loudly, challenging me, "do you have a handicap placard", " you can't park there, that's for handicapped" everyone in the place looking at us. The belligerence was loud and intentional, seemingly meant to embarrass me publicly as some lowlife that would intentionally take a handicap spot. Just imagine, the biggest mouth in the bar, making the biggest commotion, getting everyone's attention, just making a scene.... Come to find out it was the owner, clearly he had been drinking.
As he was yelling these statements, I told him I I am handicap and do have a placard, I did not display it as I did not park in the handicap spot. He kept on and on with his yelling, waving his arms being belligerent. So, I, the handicapped driver Neuropathy in my legs, I have to painfully hobble back out to my truck to prove to him I did have a handicap sticker, Even though I did not park in a handicap spot.
Once that painful event was over we did take a table however I was so embarrassed and mad at what transpired, with the support of the waitress, in front of the customers and the group I was with we decided it was best if we leave the establishment and we vowed and expressed to the owner, never to come back. With no defense as he was wrong mumbled, yeah sure, that's fine. On our way out we calmly shared with the owner that it wasn't so much him inquiring my status as a handicap but the manner in which he acted obtaining information....
If your looking for dinner with possible verbal abuse from a rude owner, this is the place to go.... We'll never be back.
Sad, Sad, Sad.... I feel bad for the ignorant owner... read more
