Service is slow, takes a while to get food even when there are not many people there. Dark inside which makes it look dingy.

Horrible environment. Terrible service. Mocks unsatisfied customers with "entitlement awards". How dare people expect decent service and treatment for their hard earned money. read more

The food is really good here. The wings are the best with so many flavors to choose from. If you are in the area definitely stop by and try it. It is more of a bar atmosphere but there are tables to sit at as well. read more

Service was good and beer was good. I'd pick a different meal next time. First time in here and I've never gone wrong with a buffalo chicken sub before anywhere else. Here it is a long thin chicken nugget it seems like. Definitely wouldn't recommend it. I'll be back and try something else. read more

Got the munchies so decided to stop by and grab a bite to eat. The staff was friendly but there were only 2 working. Wasn't real busy so should be no problem. Got our drink orders in then our food. Drinks were prompt but our food took a little longer than expected but we weren't in any hurry so it was alright. Was satisfied for what we got. Our drinks weren't kept up with so wasn't happy with that. A little expensive for the bar food we got. Nice place. Worth at least one visit. read more

We stopped here on our way back to Pittsburgh. I am always up for a great neighborhood bar. The beer was good, drinks were good and everyone was so nice. The problem is you just can't be on any sort of schedule. We walked in a little before 4 pm (not very busy) and our food didn't come until a little after 5 pm. Once the food did come, however, it was quite good. Also, the prices are incredible so you can't beat that. This is the perfect place to catch a game, or post up for a while but maybe do not come starving because you will be waiting. read more

One of my favorite places to get bar food. Also some of the best food around. Haven't had anything bad yet on the menu. The only bad that I can think of is sometimes they're understaffed. Making the wait for food can be over a hour. But mostly its worth the wait. read more

I love the Monkeys salads. They have the most fresh chicken salad with vegetables around. The wings and quesadillas are good too! We order from their business for take out at my business and have never had a bad meal. read more

The Toasted Monkey is a great neighborhood bar that is welcoming and fun. The building that houses "The Monkey" has been home to the R Bar and the Village Inn, but this newest bar at this location is the best yet. The owners and staff are fantastic, the food is good, and the beer is ice cold. The place is non-smoking too (smoking outside only) which is a big plus for me. read more

Tried this place twice. The food wasn't bad but the service was terrible. I am from the area but was made to feel like an "outsider". At a bar!!! The place was full of regulars who seemed to get all of the attention of the wait staff. That happened twice. Will not go back!! read more

Ordered take out during covid. We got a few dozen wings and they were amazing. We also got the cheese steak fries and WOW. All the food at the Toasted monkey has been great even when we eat prior to the new covid restrictions. The staff was friendly and always smiling. Friends raved about this place on Facebook, so we decided to have lunch on a Saturday. This was our place back in the day (1980s) when it was the Village Inn and it was a bar that happened to sell food. Good times at the Village. Anyway, now it's a restaurant that has a bar and we were very pleased. Large menu, a little thin on salad offerings and for vegetarians, as I am. I will occasionally eat cheese and the appetizer quesadillas were quite good. Perfect size to pair with a side. I had fresh cut fries, which were great. Skip the basket and get a small order because it's huge. Mac Daddy had a fish sandwich and fresh made potato chips. He loves Lube Chips from Quaker State and he rated these as good. Fish portion was enormous. Our waitress was adorable. Very friendly, upbeat and accommodating. She brought us a patio table - the other tables are high- because I use a wheelchair after giving us the option to eat outside. She was very attentive, even though she was busy. She had a hissy fit when the kitchen mistakenly put chicken in my quesadillas and whisked them away. I would have picked the chicken out; I'm a good sport. I want to try the pizza. If you're a burger fan, there are plenty to choose from. Most sound like you need cutlery to eat them-big and lots of toppings. Decor is lots of wood, lots of kitschy signs and monkeys. Well lighted. Very clean and neat. We told our waitress all about The Village. Our heyday came well before she was born. I gave it four stars because the iced tea is bottled Gold Peak, which is my favorite. Some people suggested that we go here and told us to go early so that we could get a seat. We walked in and it was practically empty. They have seating inside, outside and at the bar. Typical bar food. Prices were fair and food was average. read more
