Wow what an amazing place. Sarah took care of us and was amazing. We were driving from San Francisco to Philadelphia and got in late. They were one of the only places open. We decided to try them out and we just astounded. The place is unassuming and laid back but the food was amazing. I was there on Tuesday... Steak night. They advertise a 12oz ribeye that was easily 2 pounds. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was by far the best steak I have had to date. It's was better than I can cook a steak! I ordered wings for an appetizer and they were big and meaty and the sauce perfect. All their sauces and salad dressings are house made and delicious. The food is amazing. The prices are definitely better than most restaurants and the service way better. The next time I'm traveling thru PA I am definitely planning my trip to be able to stop back here. The wings were good. Had lots of beer options so that was nice. I wish they kept the Pool table opened all night until they close. That is what makes a bar experience great! I'll be back! My husband and I were traveling through on a long car trip and happened to stop by after doing a quick internet search...and we'll definitely be back! The outside is unassuming, and walking in it looks like any other local small-town bar, but the food, drinks, and overall experience really set it apart. We sat at the bar and had $1 Labatts on draft and ordered the best wings that I have ever had in my entire life. Seriously. They were meaty and fresh (fresh and never frozen is their claim) and so delicious. We picked Hell Sauce and it was peppery, tangy, and good and spicey, but not too spicy. My husband had the cheesesteak and I had the taco salad. Both were very, very, very good. Our order actually got lost in the kitchen and the bar tender bought us a drink to apologize. If you try Toby Hill, don't be dissuaded by the townies that hang out in front of the place or at the bar. There is a dining room in the back and we saw many families in and out on a Saturday night. Clarion University is in town and it sounds like this place is a favorite for students. The locals sitting at the bar were great to talk to and we felt immediately welcomed even though we were from out of town. My five star rating might be because I had low expectations walking in...but I truly have not had as good of a meal or experience at a bar like this in a long, long time. read more

This is, by far, the single greatest establishment I have ever been to, and trust me, you will not find those hyperbolic statements on my other yelp reviews. Anyone who gives this less than five stars is BANANAS. I have searched the country far and wide to find wings that are this delicious and also at this low price point. The combination is completely unmatched. The also have a great beer selecting ranging from all of the standard domestics to quite an array of crafts. Don't even get me started on the waffle fries..... DELICIOUS. You can get delicious food and beer for under $10. So great. There are a lot of college youths here, but its still a pretty tame joint. This place doesn't look like it would be awesome from the outside, but it is so fabulous! Ashley was our server and she was beyond wonderful. We had the fried pickles, pizza logs, and each picked a burger. The "Hot Mess" burger was to die for along with the pickles. The breakfast and Capone burger were both very good. Have patronized this establishment in the past and it was ok. Highly disappointed tonight. Waited over an hour for our food even though they were not busy. Ordered grilled chicken and chicken Parm sandwiches. They were cubed chicken, not what we expected. Still would have been ok except the chicken parm was on burnt black toast. Bar waitress failed to inquire about our food much less apologize for the wait or the obviously improperly prepared sandwich. read more

Nice little place to grab a beer or a burger. Specials are usually good, the bartenders are very nice and the prices are very reasonable, especially since I'm used to DC prices. If you want wings, I would highly recommend elsewhere, as anytime i get wings here they taste like they have been sitting out for a few hours. Also, hopefully you don't bring more than 4 people, since apparently that is their max seating arrangement, and won't allow you to put tables together or bring an extra chair to the table. Asked the desk clerk at the hotel to recommend a dive bar with good food and he immediately mentioned the Toby Hill Bar & Grill. Nailed it!!! The beer was good, not flat, but a little pricey, but since it is a college town, it is to be expected. Lots of TV's, but the layout is a little cramped and when they have a band in/open mic you can forget about talking to anybody or watching the game, never be able to hear. The food was much better than you would expect at a bar, our bartender was really cool and nice (I don't remember his name but he's in the Army national guard... Our food at Toby Hill wasn't perfect... the sweet potato fries still tasted distinctly of the freezer, but the other food was delicious and overall, it was a great experience at a great price. The wait staff was friendly and the food came fast. The menu has a lot of fun options and my swamp queen burger was memorable enough that I tried to recreate it at home. I've eaten here many times and stop in often to try out some new craft and specialty brews. They have a good selection of beer on tap. All the usual domestics and imports plus some great specialties that rotate constantly. They have a great bottle selection and there is something good for anyone's taste. The food here has always been good. The wings are great, and specialty burgers usually are a good pick too. I stop up on Tuesdays when I can for Mexican food night. It's not authentic Mexican food by any means but they have some very good, creative burritos for great prices. The decor and atmosphere of the bar is awesome. I would relate it to strip club, rude unless they want to nice. Food can be good or bad like the service. If you don't mind servers who are fake and rude it's ok. i had a lot of fun here. my boyfriend's band played, which is why i was there in the first place. i wasn't sure what to expect... a bunch of drunk college kids? townies? what are townies like in clarion anyway? but the crowd was responsive, active, but not annoying and the staff was awesome. everyone was super friendly, knowledgable, and generous. the prices were completely reasonable and the alcohol selection was great! i didn't try any food, but i've been told it's all pretty darn good and the atmosphere was really cool. the place is pretty big, but it's separated into two sections, with two separate bars to cut down on bar traffic. the room where the stage is has a huge awesome mural on the wall too! read more
