We are new to town and heard this was a great place to eat. It did not disappoint!! We ordered the Caesar salad which had a delicious homemade dressing with a light lemony flavor. The bucatini pasta with burrata was so simple yet had an amazing flavor! The mushroom pizza was delicious. The best part of the meal, though was the grilled broccolini!! I would have only given them 1 star (the minimum) if it had not been for the delicious carrot gnocchi. The chef needs to find a restaurant with service that matches his talent. The waitress looked at us with distain for ordering still water instead of sparkling water to start with. We ordered the kids spaghetti, chicken and artichoke Pizza and the gnocchi. The kids spaghetti was so small it would not have fed a four year old. The size of the bowl was the same size as the one meatball included. The two florets of broccoli included were cooked but cold. The waitress never asked us if we wanted fries or fruit with the kids meal. We ended up with fruit but of course my daughter had wanted fries. When we informed the man who checked on her table he said "so sorry". After waiting approximately 40 minutes for the adult meals to come, we noted that the pizza was burnt. When the man came to our table again to ask how things were we showed him the pizza and he said yes that sometimes happens in the wood fire but that one is a little more done than we would normally like, "so sorry". The artichokes on the pizza were drenched in some type of sour liquid making them almost inedible. The pizza was also very dry maybe due to being overcooked. The gnocchi itself was delicious. Unfortunately I had told the waitress that I was allergic to onions and did not want any in my meal. Surprisingly the pea mash on the side of the bowl definitely had onions in it. I never even told them about that because I didn't need another "so sorry'. I just ate around it. We definitely will not be back. I'll have to find another place to get fresh gnocchi. read more

Chose this venue to celebrate a 50th birthday (not mine!... not yet!). Joined the waitlist via Yelp! and arrived 5 minutes early to a bustling bar and restaurant. Hostess and bartenders were pleasant and attentive. We grabbed a couple beverages at the bar- great beer selection.. in fact I was pleasantly surprised to see Ayinger on tap! I do not think I have ever seen it on tap anywhere except for when I stayed in Aying, Germany!! Our wait was short and we were escorted to our table. For appetizers we ordered the Garlic Bread and Arancini. Garlic bread was good, the Arancini was awesome! The menu had a good assortment of food options. I ordered the Mastaccioli with sausage. The heat of this meal and depth of flavor of the sauce was amazing... fennel would be a cool add... (at least that is how I make it). Nathaniel, our server, was a-mazing!! The red rabbit was awesome! We had the wings and they were so delicious. Not to hot but Sooo flavorful, super tender not over done. Then I had the fettuccini Alfredo and it was completely epic! I am not sure what they put in it but I was the best fettuccine I have tasted. And my wife is Italian so that is saying something. The wait staff was very patient on explaining everything from drinks to dishes. Even with the social distancing this is a terrific restaurant. Enjoy! read more

Went here for the first time tonight and will definitely be back! There was a long wait, so I recommend joining the wait list before you get there. Turns out the wait is for a reason - the food is delicious and the drinks are good. Our server was friendly and our dinner was served at a good pace. The Orange-Garlic Bruschetta was delicious! Don't let the weird combo fool you. It was so worth it. We also had the cavatelli which was spicier than anticipated, but tasty, and the Raviolo which was incredible. Should note that the grilled bread you may be offered with dinner is not free, but it's $3 and a good way to get all the sauce to your mouth. Worth it. read more

We visit this restaurant at least once a month (sometimes twice). We love it so much. We have tried almost the entire menu + drink menu and are never disappointed. The staff is always extremely friendly and BONUS: they have a huge parking lot so you can almost always get parking on busy Grand Ave. The prices are good for the portion size and the bar is fun if you're looking for a more casual dining experience. Amid the pandemic we have continued to order at least once a month and they're doing a great job with takeout. We are constantly hoping they'll get a rewards program since we visit so often! read more

Today we had the great pleasure to prepare and eat the lasagna, garlic bread arugula salad Take & Bake. The Preparation Instructions were well-written and easy to follow. The ingredients and servings were generous in size and well prepped. It was fun to pile on the sauces and cheeses to create the decadent dishes. We have been here multiple times, and unfortunately, it always has not been consistent. I will say overall, it is a great place for dinner and we will still be coming back. I do appreciate greatly the seasonal gnocchi which is always vegetarian!!! I will say out of all the seasons our favorite was the winter gnocchi with a nice chili oil on top of it, but they all have been good except for the spring one which was a bit sweet. We also have had the ravioli which is good but a bit lighter for dinner. The bruschetta is good but nothing overall memorable. I will say the mushroom pizza was delicious, and I would probably come back for that. Our two favorite dishes are gnocchi and mushroom pizza. I would definitely be coming back here! read more

This place is beyond delicious! I've ordered from on bite-squad over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food here is so good you literally will eat until your stomachs has no more room. Their lasagna is seriously the best I have ever had! (sorry mom). The pasta here is always cooked to the right consistency it is quite literally phenomenal! The sauce is really packed with flavor you really can taste the freshness of the ingredients I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but he would be proud of this place. From trash to class. So excited that they are here. I have a feeling it will be a weekly treat. We came on a Friday so spaghetti and clam sauce it is. They put pork in it and we later found out you can get it without. We shared a caesar salad. The croutons are a stand out. Everything is delicious. Ended with a satisfying deconstructed panna cotta. Basil got the house cake. We find ourselves constantly analyzing this place. Such as will it be competition for anyone? Not necessarily. More people are eating out, probably getting the same Wild Onion crowd and then some like us who wouldn't be caught dead there. Oddly it's still the party atmosphere, but a lot fancier. Same beautiful decor as Mpls. However the noise level blows through the roof. This keeps it from being a potentially romantic place. Unless your idea of romance is a Parliament Funkadelic concert. Same old half-assed handicapped parking. You'll get a spot but you'll walk around to the only entrance. So drop off your most handicapped person as you pull into the lot. Thanks to a top search on YELP on our last day of vacation in MN we found this place in St Paul to enjoy a nice last dinner. We pulled up and they have a private parking lot which is very nice. Walking in it was very cool inside and welcoming. With the cool night breeze we wanted a table to enjoy our meal outside. We had one immediately available to us. The hostess was so sweet that brought us to our table and gave our 2yr old his menu and crayons to bring to the table and had him follow her. Was the cutest thing ever! Reviewing the menu didn't take long to decide something delicious to eat. They have an extensive beer list with plenty of local MN beer on draft and even a few SoCal beer on draft so that was cool being that I live there. I had a smooth cider and then a cream ale to go with dinner. For dinner I ordered a Crawfish risotto that was so creamy and buttery and tasty. Worst part was that it honestly didn't last long in my bowl. Filled me up real quick. My wife had a spicy sausage pasta that was equally tasty! Even the children's menu food was so good! Not sure how long this place has been open. It looks pretty new and I'm not real big on the St. Paul food scene but this place seems to be a staple of Italian food in St. Paul. So so good!! If you are visiting or in the area you have to try this place out.....unless you just don't like delicious Italian food. read more

We were excited to try Red Rabbit being huge fans of the Red Cow. Even though the city is plastered with trendy Italian restaurants we thought it was worth a try. We were seated immediately on a busy Saturday afternoon at brunch and were warmly welcomed. The place has not changed much inside since the days of Wild Onion. The wine, beer and spirits menu is impressive. Domestics and imports for every palate and price range. We shared the salmon crisps appetizer-five generous crisps of raw salmon with avocado and fresh herbs presented on a blue corn crisp chip. Fresh and delicious. A perfect accompaniment to a glass of red wine or a beer. DH ordered the breakfast bowl and I had the cavatelli pasta. The pasta dish arrived with a unappetizing pool of olive oil at the base of the dish. The flavor was good and spicy from the house-made Italian sausage but I would not order it again due to the excess of oil. The breakfast bowl was tasty but the poached eggs bordered on being too raw. Hopefully time will iron out the kinks. If not, there are lots of other Italian restaurants that shine read more

Just tried this place for the first time after having a craving for some Italian grub. The Lasagna was so delicious! Not too bad for the prices as well. Also enjoyed the Cheese bread! An odd plating and meal pairing visit... I have been to Red Rabbit twice now, the first time was a very pleasurable experience. The pasta is great, and my friend said her gnocchi was delicious as well. We both decided today would be a great day to return. We started off with a Pizza Rolls appetizer, which was truly delicious. The food runner told us the cast iron pot the rolls and dipping sauce came in would be extremely hot, but the rolls were more or less warm. Next, we got our entrees. I decided on the Chicken Parmesan, while my friend got the gnocchi again. When I asked about side dishes/what comes with the chicken parm, they said it doesn't come with a side dish, but I could add a side of spaghetti for $5 (I could make pasta at home 10 times over for $5), but the chicken was a large portion so there wasn't a need. They weren't wrong. The two pieces of chicken were massive, and delicious! However the meal seemed like it was lacking something. Maybe pasta or a side of veggies. And for $18.50, I would expect more than two pieces of chicken on a plate. Attached is the photo of the gnocchi. My friend got it, and it seemed like something was missing on the plate, like it was missing a side dish, or needed to be plated on something much smaller. She thought the dish was just fine, but the plating choice threw us both off a bit. Finally, we ended with dessert and decided on the toffee cake. While the cake was good, the salted caramel was truly caramel with an excessive amount of salt, to the point of being gritty and inedible. As high of hopes as we had for the restaurant, I'm not sure we would return again. read more

Almost a 5. Wish I could 4.5. Really amazing food and great deal on draft beer (Odell pints for $3) I love that you can check in on yelp ahead of time. Because of that, we got in almost right away on a Saturday night. Service was super fast but our waitress was a little forgetful. Asked us if we wanted sparkling or still water and when we said sparkling, we were confused when we got still. Portion sizes were a bit small so don't expect leftovers unless you are an actual rabbit, but taking into account prices it was appropriate. Ambiance was nice, dark and a bit noisy but pretty typical. I would go again. Big fan of their other restaurant Red Cow too! read more
