Absolutely fabulous place to enjoy creative happy hour drinks and a happy hour menu that is very well worth the price. The food was good but the service needs a bit upgrade. We had 2 bottles of wine for our group and we could never find our waitress to get it for us from the ice bucket. We ended up bringing it home. They did clear the plates often but some of the food never came. We had to cancel a couple of dish. The managers though, were very attentive and came by to rectify some of it. read more

The Red Pine Restaurant is in a prodigious office complex that also house Merrill, Raymond James, and others. So in very good company. One has to walk through the building lobby to get to the entrance of the Red Pine Restaurant. Once inside the restaurant, a nice sized bar with booths surrounding it. They have an expansive happy hour menu and the service was excellent, since my group was quite big. The bartenders were friendly and very quick, especially with the mob I was with lol. The food was very good and the drinks tasty. The ambiance and vibe was slightly upscale, even though I was dressed more casual; my normal wear for happy hour lol. The high ceilings made the restaurant seem not so crowded, even though there were a lot of people for happy hour. Overall, a very nice experience and will be back for more experiences. read more

Severely Overpriced Drinks!! We have been searching for a great Chinese restaurant in the area so we tried Red Pine. We ordered the duck pizza appetizer which turned out to be flavorful but quite greasy. We ordered 2 entrees including Bronzino and Steak Tips which were pricey in themselves. The biggest let down was the exorbitant pricing for drinks. Lychee martinis at other restaurants we go to in the area range from $8.00 to $12.00. Maybe $14.00 but when our check came the price for a lychee martini was $25.00! And a cosmo was $20! Why would that be?? You can buy a liter of Kettle One for $30.00 at Total Wine, and restaurants buy wholesale which would cut that price in half. I think management needs to take my review very seriously because we realize if we ever return to Red Pine we would not have drinks from your bar. Our server should have mentioned how expensive it would be because this isn't normal pricing. I would have declined ordering any drink over $16.00. We didn't deserve to be ripped off for ordering drinks that were not on your menu specialty drinks list. And even your featured "specialty drinks" are around $14.00 on your menu so why did we get gouged? When we looked at the bill I asked the server if the pricing was correct and she said, "yes." Too bad because you lost us as potential, regular customers. Before tip our bill was $250.00. What a shame you had to blow it with severely overcharging for drinks. read more

We come at happy hour (3 pm) and graze our way through a wonderful menu of options. Happy hour allows you to try a good portion of their dinner menu at a fraction of the cost. Red Pine had become our family's new fave for quality top-notch Chinese food. We are in Plantation and more than happy to make the drive to Boca whenever we get a hankering for Chinese food. The best part of the night was the scallion pancakes. They were good, only enough for 2 people. Dinner was kung pao and garlic egg plant. The king poa was white meat... which is a no no. It was very dry and we barely had any sauce. The eggplant was cooked so much we couldn't even get it on our plates without it falling apart. Finally we had the Avery brownie with ice cream. It tastes like a box brownie. I was looking so forward to this! The other problem was that nowhere did it list there was a FRUIT drizzle on the plate along with the fudge. It was mango flavor. First time kicked out of a restaurant in my life tonight. First off, the food was TERRIBLE at best. More importantly, the service was atrocious! We ordered several dishes, and the food was served whereby by wife's main course was served first and her side dish came 20 minutes later. My main dish came 25 minutes after hers. BTW, spoons and spices came after asking for them from 3 different servers. I complained to the manager and was told that because I made a special order(my order was simplified) I had to wait and too bad. I couldn't believe they didn't do the right thing and say sorry and perhaps take a dish off the bill. Quality restaurants do this! I then complained to the waitress about the wait and the manager and said the manager effed up. At that, another manager ( Anna)said I violated Florida law and told me to go. As I didn't threaten or incite, I did not violate Florida law. I felt that the first manager threw menacing looks my way as I was leaving and think maybe he violated Florida law. I am sorry I said that the first manager effed up but I never said eff u to anyone there. We went for the first time for an early Sunday evening. My wife and I shared wonton soup, 2 egg rolls, chicken fried rice, duck 2 ways, and apple desert. Each had 2 drinks. All the floor and drinks were excellent, Service from Elizabeth was terrific. She explained all and had suggestions that were right on. It was no busy at 5 but by the time we finished around 6:30 it was very busy. It is not your family chinese carry out restaurant nor their prices. Emperor's New Clothes. I wanted to love this food. Buzz was good. Prices high but I will pay for quality. In fairness for this review, this was a takeout order. But, Chinese food has a higher standard for takeout. Best were the egg rolls. Solid but not delicious for $10 per egg roll. Next best was the meh hot and sour soup. For $27, there was a scant amount of meat and veggies with average flavor. The $32 cashew chicken was bad. Portion was small, amount of dry chunks of unflavored chicken was noticeably shocking, and hardly any sauce. The standard to go container was 2/3 full. Then the wok stir fried vegetables was the worst. Soggy, mushy bok Choy, very few mushrooms and mostly carrots. Overloaded with seeds and no flavor. We had heard a lot of great things about this place so we made reservations. The restaurant is beautiful! They were very busy so I do recommend reservations. We did not have to wait long. Our waitress made some suggestions and they were excellent! She suggested other items too but we will need to return to try more. We also had quite a bit of take home too. It's a beautiful restaurant with a great happy hour selection at the bar. Happy as there aren't many good chinese restaurants! We came tonight for the Cars and CEOs event where they hosted a dim sum and cocktail hour before dinner. The dumplings were delicious with a choice of soy and/or peanut sauces, and chili oil. They offered one cocktail and one mocktail both with ginger beer. I didn't enjoy the cocktail but the passion fruit mocktail was perfect and refreshing! We ordered the sesame beef, mo shu chicken, Peking duck, shrimp w walnuts, angry pig fried rice, and dry fried string beans for our table. The sesame beef was good and flavorful. Mo shu chicken was oily and too rich for my liking. Peking duck was under-seasoned and lacked a bit of flavor. The thin pancakes dried up and split, making it very messy to eat. The angry pig fried rice was oddly sour, and the waiter was nice enough to replace it with the egg fried rice which was very good. Dry fried string beans were very good. We finished with the tea sponge cake...chinese bakeries have wonderful sponge cake rolls which came to mind...this was nothing like it. It was an interesting flavor and sat in a puddle of wetness with unripe strawberries. I don't think any of us would order that dessert again. read more

We came to Red Pine after watching a movie to meet some friends. We didn't have a reservation, so we sat at the bar. I ordered a martini, which came highly recommended by a friend. I don't do vodka martinis, so I had mine made with Hendricks, did I like it? Well, I had two, so you tell me ;) I also had a Lychee martini as well. All were delicious. We didn't do dinner, we had egg rolls and edamame. They were really good as well. Service was great, the bartenders were super friendly and efficient. Decor is also cool. I love Asian inspired esthetic, so I loved it. I didn't feel the food menu was that varied. I'd have trouble choosing a dinner entree, but the appetizers and drinks more than make up for it. We got together with friends after the movies on a Saturday night. Our friends frequent Red Pine, but it was our first visit. The place has a modern Asian decor with a nice bar right by the entrance. We joined our friends at the bar and ordered some drinks. My wife ordered Edamame and some spring rolls. My wife had Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and I had a Moscow mule, we were very happy with the first round. My wife had a lychee martini for her second drink, while I had a few beers since I was driving. The service was great. The bartenders were attentive and easy to talk to. So. I'm giving this place 4 stars because the decor, ambiance, drinks, and service was completely on point. The thought that went into decorations and serving plates was great! The chicken dumplings were probably my favorite. As for the rest of the food, I was slightly disappointed. I LOVE dim sum. And haven't found any decent Chinese dumplings in Florida. I wanted this place to be my spot because the xiao long bao on pictures looked juicy and delicious. The filling and dough was perfect but omg. The salt. I felt like they poured the entire shaker into the dish. It was disappointing because it took away from the flavor from the pork. When the broccoli beef and rice came out. Same thing. So salty. My mouth was parched and on the drive home I was dying for water. My feedback is this place has SO MUCH potential, but the salt is a dealbreaker for me. I'd come back if they laid off it! Dec 2025 * Family We have been to the restaurant a number of times and have always been impressed. Tonight we brought some family members who had never been there before. As we entered I notified the hostess that one of the family members was celebrating her birthday today. I was assured it would be taken care of. In this restaurant the proper way to order is to order a number of dishes and have them served separately. Previously, as we finished one dish, another was shortly brought to the table. I don't know if this waiter was new but when we finished one dish we sat for at least 15 minutes waiting for the next one. Instead of putting in the the next dish to be cooked it seems he waited until we were completely done before the next dish was to start to cook, thus the delay. During this period no dirty dishes were removed from the table. After 2 hours we gave up with the fish which we had ordered and I called the manager. She cancelled the fish and did not even offer a dessert or something on the house. To finalize this evening the waiter came to the talble and asked if we wanted dessert? (What happened to the special birthday celebration I had mentioned when we entered?) I spoke again to the manager again and she could only say she would adjust the bill but I don't know how she could do that since we had charged out the bill already. Paul and I returned to Red Pine for the second time just as a couple this time. The venue is located inconspicuously in a commercial building with no real signage. However, once you find it and dine here, you will put it on the map for future visits. The venue has the WOW factor. The decor is very special from every angle. This time we sat in a booth not far from the bar. Tyler was our waiter who was very knowledgeable and sweet as he made sure we were happy throughout his service. We ordered drinks - Paul had his usual Old Fashioned- surprisingly they did not have One of the ingredients that he likes to add to the mix - the Contro ingredient. We had the double garlic eggplant as an appetizer. It was hot and delicious. Then we ordered the angry fried rice and Duck two ways - pancakes and lettuce wraps which we build. All items ordered are for sharing. This was a generous portion, and I am thrilled to have leftovers. We were too full for dessert. Was excited to try this place. Even though it's in a weird location in an office building just outside of town center in Boca, the ambience that they've established inside is nice. It feels like a restaurant he would walk into Chinatown. We went during lunch, and the waitress we had was lovely, but the service from the kitchen was slow. Let's get onto the food. The pork Soup Dumplings were excellent. Delicious flavor and steamed perfectly. However, four dumplings for $16 is a lot. Next step we had Hong Kong noodles with pork. I found the noodles to be flat and kind of flavorless, but the pork was cooked and sauced well. Their general tso's chicken, I found to be a huge miss. The flavor wasn't great and the rice that was served was some of the worst and most bland I've had. As a guy who grew up on Chinese food in New Jersey, I consider myself a connoisseur of American Chinese. Considering that we ordered an oolong tea and iced tea for soup dumplings and two dishes lunch came to $75 before tip. It is safe to say I will not be returning which is a shame because this place has so much promise. read more

We sat right next to the bar where most of the drink orders are picked up, so it was a little hectic there; we did feel rushed through our our entire Experience and meal; although I saw quite a few servers floating around I think our server was definitely in the weeds quite a bit but when he was by us, he was attentive for the most part. Today, I walked 20 miles.....from Delray to the Boca Raton Town Center and back with the intent to have a meal around 330pm at Red Pine. Note: I walk about 10-12 miles per day. This was my first time at Red Pine. A friend of mine recommended Red Pine, and despite the fact that the prices were more than double what most Chinese food restaurants would charge, I decided to take my family for a meal with me. The service was great. The tattooed gentleman at the bar was great and very attentive. In fact all of the workers in the bar area were awesome - including the young lady from Minneapolis. Note-we had to sit at the bar to eat because it was happy hour and general seating does not start until 4pm. We sat at the bar and ate items from the happy hour menu. Another note, the food is the same for the main menu and the happy hour - just arranged differently and more expensive after happy hour. But that's not my point. We spent $150 on the happy hour food items (no drinks) and on a couple main menu items. The ambiance was fine - like a Chinese restaurant in a Shanghai hotel (e.g., Ritz Carlton, Shanghai). The food was terrible, and I know that now as my stomach and that of my wife l/kids are bubbling. It's going to be a tough night. The food was similar to cheap Chinese food at your neighborhood Chinese food place that's part of a gas station, but worse. The egg rolls were wrapped in thick egg noodle dough with little vegetables inside. The General Tso Chicken was tough and the vegetables that came with the dish were wilted. Note: sauce doesn't make bad chicken taste good. The edamame was wilted and not crisp. Ugh. The chicken Bao Buns were tasteless - especially when you mix a soft bun with hard (not crispy) chicken. Note: that's not Coke or Pepsi on tap (a cola) and Sprite is white soda - they were both flat. The Black Bean Pepper beef was so salty that I couldn't take more than one bite (scarfed it down) because the salt was so strong that it caused the skin inside my mouth to peal. I can't believe this place exists and passes for good food. The place looks nice and is in a good location for Boca - but I can't believe a place that should have discerning tastes given the wealth in the area would allow this food to pass for good Chinese. I should have known when I saw General Tso on the menu - there was no such dish in China, even though Tso was a well known military leader. I had great expectations, but I was let down. I should have done take out at our standard Chinese food restaurant in Boca near Glades and Lyons - nothing fancy, but I can watch them cook our food fresh and the vegetables are never wilted in sauce - and the food is great at 1/3rd the cost of Red Pine. The food has my family not well tonight-I had to pick up Alka Seltzer Gold and 7-up (real white soda) to help us through the evening. They opened for lunch so we stopped in to try the place six months after our initial review. I'm sorry to say, there was not much improvement. The egg drop soup, and. Bok choy dumplings were delicious, however, the Hong Kong style noodles with pork had basically no flavor at all, except for the pork. Also, the Dan noodles sauce was way too thick and overpowering. Service was very good, however, the food was nothing special. In all honesty, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I was honestly disappointed in this spot. I had really high hopes upon walking in and seeing how gorgeous the decor and ambiance were. Our server was extremely nice and tentative but the food was mediocre and lackluster. The sticky spare ribs were the only good dish we ate. The soup dumplings were way too thick and starchy compared to a traditional xiao long bao. Lo mein lacked flavor and that wok charred taste. It was as if the noodles were simply boiled and then tossed in a sauce. The cashew chicken was also pretty bland tasting. What bothered me the most is the fact that the manager just stood there by the bar on his cell phone and did not even care to check in on the guests dining in his restaurant. He completely ignored the fact that a man seated at the bar was vaping and playing TikTok's loudly on his phone which was extremely disruptive. Must've been a buddy of his.
