We were really excited to try this place after looking at the menu. My husband and son ordered the brisket skillet and my daughter and I ordered the ribs, mine with sweet potatoe fries and hers with mashed potatoes. The brisket looked like McDonalds Mcrib meat and supposedly tasted like it. The ribs were so tough that you could barely cut through them and hardly had any meat on them. My sweet potatoe fries were cold as well. We did complain as we barely ate any of our food and they gave us half off. We are not picky eaters at all. My boyfriend and I took a mini break up to Dillon this past weekend, and as we looked for somewhere to have a quick lunch, this caught my eye. The Good... -The place is BEAUTIFUL! I just loved the decor. Though it seemed not to fit the "grill"/"sports bar" type food and vibe. The "A-OK"... -The service was not horrible, but kind of slow. Especially when the place wasn't really that busy. But we weren't totally ignored, so I can't complain too much. -The food wasn't fantastic, but it definitely wasn't the worst I've had. My boyfriend got the Bison Chili which was on special that day. He seemed to like it quite a bit. We also shared The All American Burger, with a Beyond Patty and fries. The burger was a little too well-done, and pretty dry and tasteless. The fries were good though, and there were more than enough of them. The "Eh"... -There's not a huge selection of veggie friendly food, but I don't really expect that of a "grill" anyway. At least there was a Beyond Burger... And if they learn how to properly cook it (and maybe season it) I'd give this place another star. -I got a Sofia's Mimosa, because it sounded delicious. Champagne, pomegranate schnapps and a splash of pom. juice... For $11, it tasted like cheap champagne with a splash of pomegranate flavoring. I would think with that description it would taste fruity and refreshing, but mostly it just tasted artificial and boring. I'd try this place again if we ended up staying in Dillon, but it won't be a "go out of my way" place in the near future for sure. read more

She answered our questions and did everything right, the only issue was it was only her working the tables and there were maybe 20 people in the area we were in. Pretty good for a touristy place! We went around noon on Friday and it was busy, but not packed. For a place with great views and beautiful interior decor, I have to say the food is much better than one would expect. We got the Palisade peach salad with elk chili and not a bad thing to say about that combo. Elk chili was lean and flavorful. When you other the cup size, it's literally the size of a cup unlike other places. So just plan accordingly if that's too small for you. We also got a burger and husband seems to like it. The crispy chicken wrap was also really good, we got the buffalo sauce option, for reference this buffalo is a bit more spicy than franks red hot. First I ordered the elk meatloaf. They were out. Then I ordered a bison burger. They were out of bison too. This was 5 PM on a Friday and they're already out? My sister ordered the brisket, mac and cheese, and creamed corn. We had to return that: the brisket was mostly fat and the few edible pieces were as tough as leather; the creamed corn was just watery and not creamed whatsoever. A managerial "hey sorry we're 0 for 3, how about a beer on the house?" would have gone a long way and stopped me from posting this review. My boyfriend and I took a long-weekend ski trip to Colorado, and stopped by Red Mountain for dinner. We were offered the 2 worst tables in the half-empty restaurant before we asked for the manager. Unfortunately, he chose to defend the hostess's behavior with the weakest responses he could whip up. "Seating is divided into three revolving sections." So, after we declined a cramped and remote table in section 1, why were we dragged across the entire restaurant to an even worse table in section 3? "You should have asked for another table." We did. She said our choice was "a little big," then walked us across the restaurant. "Maybe she wanted to seat you next to a window." We didn't ask for a window, nor the the giant column or adjacent office door that came with it. Just pathetic. I've been black for almost 60 years now, but this recurring phenomenon in restaurants never ceases to amaze me. The only glimmer of satisfaction we got was seeing his face drop as we left when my boyfriend told him my relationship to a newly-acquired local sports celebrity. Again, pathetic. We left for Dillon Dam Brewery across the street, and our waiter, Derek, without even realizing, more than made up for the shitty experience we'd just had. Well. I'm not one to leave negative reviews unless truly necessary. We ordered the brisket skillet. $25. It was cold when delivered. no exaggeration at all, cold. We immediately notified the server and he took it back and heated it up. Second bite- still cold. My husband then continued to eat it because he's not one to ever send food back. I tried to eat some of it and truly couldn't stomach chewing it. So I notified the server again. He was obviously annoyed and literally raised his hands up and was like "sorry". So I then said "I want this hot". To be clear- this skillet is served in a cast iron skillet. The skillet was only warm at best. I could hold the skillet with my bare hands and feel minimal heat. The second time he finally came back with it all dumped on a plate microwaved again. Needless to say, we didn't eat it. No conversation from a manager. Served with a healthy mound of mashed potatoes and a few pieces of asparagus. My husband tried the Mac n cheese skillet and the wagyu hot dog was crazy delicious! A fancy spin on a childhood favorite. The only downside was the temperature. We were seated in the center of the restaurant and there was a horrible draft from the door, it was around 4 degrees when we went in for dinner. This may be one of the coolest restaurants I have ever been in. The decor and aesthetics of this place are just so COOL. The restaurant was very busy the night we came in, and i found the tables to be REALLY close together. A little claustrophobic for my tastes. Beer menu was decent - liked the amount of local brews (being form out of town, i wanted to try local!) We started with the calamari - just meh. Not bad but not great. Wings- good! These were demolished quickly. After much internal debate, I finally settled on the Crusty Rocky Mountain Trout because.. when in Rome.. or er.. Rockies, right?! And, I'm SO happy I did. We came to Red Mountain Grill off a recommendation from an employee at a Corner Bakery, while on vacay in CO. The food was good, the service was quick, and the menu had a good bit of variety. I ordered the BB burger. It was a solid burger. I wouldn't give it quite the credit of being the best burger I've ever had, but it was a good burger and it hit the spot. I ordered some sweet potato fries to go with it and they were the perfect amount of crispy! I came with a huge group and they were able to seat us and serve us quickly. I was happy to see that they brought out the kids meals before everyone else's && that the rest of our meals weren't far behind. The most interesting item had to be an elk meatloaf dish. It looked absolutely delicious! The lighting inside was perfect for an evening meal....not too bright, but not dark. This unfortunately meant, my photos were less than beautiful, hence the lack of them with this post. Anyways, this was the perfect restaurant for us when we were looking for a "home cooked" meal away from home.
