I actually know how to apportion two stars here - devoted entirely to the cheddar biscuits. They are amaze-balls. If I did not get stuck here on a date where I needed to act like an "adult" and order a salad and meal I would have just eaten biscuits. So there you go, dating ruins your fun. But anyway: hostess was grumpy. Yep, I bet that's a hard job to write down names and tell them how long of a wait it will be. Cool. Service was slowwwwwwwwww and I was hungry. Big point loss there. Salad was the generic "low quality" chain restaurant kind of salad, which is not greatly upsetting but worth noting. The food is generic, average at best, and really seems just unmentionable in the same review that mentions cheddar biscuits as the biscuits eclipse everything with their greatness. Pros: the waitress was extremely nice, talkative and helpful. She checked up on us regularly and was just great Cons: the table we were sat at was dirty with crumbs. The menu was sticky with gross stains on it. I ordered a smoothie and it took 15 minutes. My mom ordered a side of broccoli and when she was handed her plate of food, there was no broccoli. We were told that the cook simply forgot to make her broccoli. When she asked for a side of broccoli, they brought her a side of rice(um, what?) We were celebrating a Grandson's birthday yesterday when I noticed a cockroach climbing on the wall. We called it to the attention of the waitress and a manager. The manager brought over paper towels to get it so I offered to be the "exterminator" and was able to secure the demise of the unwanted guest. The manager and the store manager came over to apologize. As we were winding down our evening, the store manager came over, and in a coy manner, recommended Diatomaceous Earth she had written on a napkin as a way to control fleas and roaches, insinuating that someone in our group had brought the roach in with us. After all that we did and put up with, the gall of this lady to do this was beyond me. I was not made aware of this until after we had left the building or would have shared my displeasure with her personally. Normally, I would have left without eating after seeing the bug but we were there to celebrate a birthday and the location was his request. We will not ever be back. Curb side pickup was not a good experience but food was good, not fantastic but good. We had the special for a Tuesday which was the Salmon, shrimp and lobster. Lobster was very good, tasty ; shrimps were flavorful on a skewer; salmon was a bit dry but acceptable,coleslaw was not a generous portion but good and the bake potato was a bit small. The cheddar biscuits made up for the small potato. Yesterday my wife and I went to Red Lobster for lunch. We had read online about a few $7.99 lunch specials they had. We hadn't been to RL in a long time, both because they have gotten very expensive especially for dinner, and because we've experienced rather mediocre service in the past. But we decided to give them another try to satisfy our seafood craving. What a pleasant surprise the Clear Lake location turned out to be! The manager and waiter Manuel were so nice and friendly. The service was top notch and the lunch special prices made it affordable for us. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time and the Cheddar Bay biscuits were to die for as usual. It's too bad this location is so far from our home or we would go there more often. read more

Arrived and were told there was a 15 minute wait. This would not have been a big deal if they had been busy, but I counted 8 tables empty and waiting to be bussed. Staff was milling around with no sense of urgency, rather than getting tables cleared for the people that were waiting. Watched one table that was empty when we came in and it took 10 minutes before anyone bothered to bus it, and at that, it took them 2 trips. The service was lackluster, our waitress seemed more like a robot than an actual person. No sense of humor or personality to speak of. Again, no sense of urgency when things were forgotten. Drink ran out several times with no offer to refill until asked. On the plus side, the food was good. The cheddar biscuits are always great, and the snow crab was delicious. read more

Yesterday I called in a To-Go order. The food was OK but they would have never sent it to a table. We got a regular baked potato instead of the Creamy Langostino Potato (+ $3), One of the King Crab legs was empty, and the snow crab was dirty with stuff hanging off of it. I called the manager who had nothing but excuses ('with crabfest we're so busy' - it was 5:10 and no customers were there!; 'crab comes pre-washed in boxes' - I've bought bulk crab before and it's not washed; 'we just take the crab out of the box' - yeah, there's the problem) Gave me $ on a certificate but what I wanted was good quality in the first place. As a family that has always been loyal customers of Red Lobster let me start by saying my family and I will never come back. It was New Year's Day at Noon and the restaurant was empty. It took quite a while for our server to even ask what we wanted to drink. Once we received our non-alcoholic beverages the waiter stated; "he had no idea what was taking the bar so long". I eventually cancelled my Daiquiri. The waiter finally came over to take our order but it took forever for our food to come to the table. The lobsters were overcooked and we could barely eat them as they were tough and rubbery. Also, for lobsters that were just boiled they arrived at the table cold. For the price of 2 lb. lobsters that is DISGRACEFUL. The waiter did not come back to see if we needed anything. The waiter just kept walking by until we literally had to flag him done just to get refills on soda and water. In addition, the menu has been cut back from some of our favorite dishes. The portions have been reduced and the prices seem to have been increased. The entire experience was not up to Red Lobster's reputation. Red Lobster has just lost a loyal family of 4 as customers. read more

This place is kind of a special place for my wife and I. We actually met each other at a Red Lobster in Beaumont, Texas. So usually at least once, or twice a year we will take time out and have one of our date nights, or afternoons here at our local Red Lobster! Although not really or go to place for seafood, they do have some really good specials from time to time that we like to take in and the food is always good! One of them is Lobsterfest!!! You can order Lobster several different ways and it really is good! Plus, I think they've changed some things up so you get a little more food for your buck!!! I've always loved Red Lobsters cheddar biscuits anyway! The dinner salads are always fresh and they are cold with great tasting dressings! This last time we both ordered the same dish that came with one Rock Lobster tail and one Maine Lobster tail and I had the Lobster fettacini. The wife had the Lobster stuffed baked potato instead of the fettacini. I must say that when lunch was finished I was stuffed and the wife had to get a to go box!!! It's always enjoyable just to spend time here for lunch or dinner with my wife. Not overly priced, and our food is always good!!! read more

Wanting something new, I decided to order the lobster bisque. It was not what I expected. For me it was below average, would not order again. The consistency was fine but there was something off about the taste. I guess it's pretty well known that this Red Lobster is one of the lesser ones in Houston. However, my dad wanted to try it again, so we gave it a try last night. An overall 2 hour experiences (once we sat down), the service was poor, items were forgotten off (salads, sides, etc), the food was very low quality. My broccoli looked like it had been steamed 6 times over and was falling apart. The fries tasted old. I know they're frozen. Rarely are fries hand cut. But these were just soggy and gross. The garlic shrimp scampi made my mother sick. My coconut shrimp were nothing to brag on. I didn't get sick, but there's way better places in the area. For the price, we could have eaten way better at pretty much any restaurant in this area. Next time, we'll blow that much money where the food actually tastes decent. read more

I have been here before and I usually get create your own. We got a appetizer, cheese sticks. They were not good. It was frozen cheese sticks and the cheese was not melted inside. I usually get shrimp which is good, nothing real special. So, tonight I got the Lobsterfest surf and turf. I love the lobster! The lobster was cooked perfect. The sirloin was okay, it needed more seasoning. The cheddar biscuits were awesome as usually. My husband got the seaport lobster and shrimp. He liked it but the green beans were not warm and didn't have enough seasoning. He likes shrimp so he of course liked them and the lobster. The waiter, was great! He was very nice and polite. He kept my glass filled, which is a great thing. We probably will go again because I like the lobster. read more

Normally, this Red Lobster location is good on "slow" nights like Monday and Tuesday. My most recent visit was Mon., Dec. 30, during the holiday period and they were clearly overwhelmed during the 8pm hour. It's disappointing because RL has good food and specials, but if guests can't get seated in a timely manner, that food will go uneaten. Perhaps management needs to staff up on holiday weeks? read more

The first time we have been quite disappointed at this location. My wife ordered the crab legs. She has a very small stomach and can't order a full meal, so I get the legs as an add on to my meal. Today the legs were over cooked and not a full order. The server did an excellent job of trying to meet our expectations. On my plate the broccoli was over cooked and the Peppercorn steak lacked essential seasoning. The Tomato Caprese salad, the mozzarella cheese was seriously under salted. Service helped make up for it, but seriously disappointed in the food preparation. However we will probably return as this place holds memories for us. Today, my dad and I decided to try this place at lunchtime for the crab fest. We were immediately greeted and got a table right away. Our server, Melissa F. was efficient, kind and knew all about the specials, menu items, etc. We never waited or went without anything, even the filling of our water glasses!! When the food arrived, it was hot and a great portion. I had king crab legs and dad had the seafood feast. It was fresh and tasted great. Normally, I don't frequent chain restaurants because of the quality of the food, but this time, I was impressed. I recommend this place for a week day lunch anytime. Ask for Melissa F when you go. Have not been this disappointed about a dining experience in more than 30 years. The Red Lobster parent company should be ashamed of this location. Menu is priced as if this is a 5-star restaurant, but the food, service, staff, and ambience more closely resembles the experience found at the food court in your local mall. The restaurant was filthy. The lights in the ceiling above us were covered with dirt/mold and dust. The employees did not care about personal appearance. The Good: Don't expect miniature lunch-sized portions just because you're paying for a set menu -- the portions were huge. The Bad: The gumbo tasted like it came from a can. Go for the New England Clam Chowder instead. The Ugly: The employee manning the hostess stand, Taylor, was extremely unprofessional. I watched him drop 2 sets of napkins/utensils on the floor by the front door then discretely pick them back up to use while showing us to our table. I asked him for extra napkins so we wouldn't have to use the soiled linen napkins which caused him to hesitate for a second then reply, "Sorry, we don't have any." So I have a bit of a mixed review and mixed feelings on this place. I'm setting aside that its a chain restaurant and I'm solely reviewing it for its food quality and service. I've gone there at least half a dozen times. Usually I go there and sit at the bar by myself to eat lunch. All the times I've sat at the bar, I have had great food and service. I usually order the ultimate feast. I substitute another 1/2 lb of crab legs for both the fried shrimp and shrimp scampi for no extra charge (because I don't really care for shrimp) and a glass of pinot grigio. The bartenders are attentive but not overly chatty and they don't give me any hassle for substitutions. I really enjoy sitting at the bar. Red lobster is usually where I go to feed a crab leg and lobster craving. Its not the best seafood ever but it suffices. Now as for the negative part of my review. Twice I've gone into Red Lobster and sat at a table. Both table experiences were awful. First table experience, it took forever for our server to initially get to our table. And by forever, I meant 15 minutes. I don't care how busy it is, as a server, you should never let a newly sat table go unattended for 15 minutes without even a "Hi, my name is ..... I will be right with you." Throughout the whole dinner, she came to our table maybe twice. First late to take our order then second to drop off our check. There was always someone else that brought our salads, entrees, and refilled our drinks. This is no good. As for the second table experience. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder soup. Halfway through the soup, I took out of my mouth what I thought was an extra chewy clam but in actuality, was a muddied label with a barcode on it. You can only imagine my disgust. But again stressing, I work in the restaurant industry, I didn't want to make a big fuss. I simply wanted to let the server know of the situation so it wouldn't happen to anyone else. He seemed pretty disgusted as well and quickly brought over the manager. The lady manager came over and simply stated coldly "these mistakes happen, I will comp your soup, good night". That's it! Forget the fact I've lost my appetite to eat anything else but that's not the point. The manager didn't even let me give my two cents before just disappearing. Its as if she was a robot and showed no signs of apology whatsoever. I'm not looking for to beg for forgiveness down on her knees or anything but just a wee bit sympathy would be nice. She kind of reminded me of my old middle school librarian that was cold and mean and rude to all the kids. The server guy was perfectly fine but my encounter with this wench was what made me decide I will never go back to this place unless 1. I absolutely have a crazy craving for lobster and am too lazy to make it myself and that's all that I will order there and 2. I will only sit at the bar. read more

It's probably been a good year since we've been here, but we had nothing better to do and decided to visit. We walked in and for 2:00 they had some customers, but we didn't have to wait or anything. The waiter who always waits on us remembered us and was happy to see us again. He's been there forever(and that's a good thing), because he always has a smile, and is always willing to accommodate you. He's probably one of the best waiters I've ever seen. His name is Joe ;you should remember that name. We got a combo platter and soft drinks. Never had to ask for refills, Joe, despite waiting other tables ,was there anticipating when it was time for service. The food's great and they offer special deals (Monday 5th is endless shrimp day-darn!), and we also see where they've changed the menu a bit. Against my better judgment I took my 4 kids out to eat without any help. All of them under age 8. Struggling with the two little ones when I walked in the door the hostess Quincy came and took one of the kids out of my arms and promptly sat us. Our server was Lauren and she was amazing, Three spills later and she still had a smile on her face. We finally got through the meal and it was time to pack up, kids and left overs. Lauren quietly asked if I wanted drinks to go, so the kids would not hear her, I told her No thank you but I really needed a Rum & Coke to go but I was driving so none for me. I was dining alone and opted to sit at the bar. It took about 10 minutes for a staff member to acknowledge me. Once the area was clean and cleared it was all good from there. I wanted a signature drink, but my diet will only allow.me to have one glass of wine. I ended up with Riesling to feel like I was doing something big. I ordered the garlic shrimp scampi, snow crab, and stuffed flounder. I had green beans and a salad as my sides. My garlic shrimp were pretty good. My crab legs were not hot which made them a little difficult to eat. The stuffed flounder was a ok, but lacking in taste. The bartenders were attentive and nice. There was a time when I was uninformed about better quality seafood places and I would always enjoyed going to Red Lobster off Broadway and Bellfort during the 80s at least once a week. However as I grew older, I have come to realize that Red Lobster serves SHIT food. I would rarely go to one as over time, the portions would shrink and the prices would skyrocket. If you are going to charge premimum prices, you better serve better quality FRESH seafood especially since we are so close to the ocean. I grudgely went there due to a meeting and had their shrimp. What I was served was half thawed out frozen slop that even someone who was not the cook can see the ice crystals on the shrimp. Complained to the waitress and was reserved the same shrimp that appeared to have been nuked in the microwave to thaw it out. Texture was rubbery and tough. Got disgusted and paid bill and left. I have been to this location many times over the past 10 years. It has obviously been updated and the service was excellent. Our servers name was Melissa and she was very good, attentive and friendly. The food was better than I can remember. My wife had the coconut shrimp and stuffed flounder combo and received a huge portion of shrimp. We shared a shrimp cocktail which had "huge" tasty shrimp. I went to Red Lobster for the Lobster Fest. Usually my experience there is very nice. However last night my waiter left alot to be desired. He came once to take our order. Another time to bring the food. And a last time to bring the check. Our drinks werent refilled and appetizer and salad dishes were not picked up when finished.....we just stacked them in the corner of the table and another waiter came by and took them. All this resulted in a very unsatisfying experience. Hopefully next time it will be much more enjoyable like it usually is. read more
