They had our table already prepared which was fantastic, but the restaurant was slow and not very busy. We could've just walked in and, other than having to wait for them to prepare our table, been seated right away. Our waitress, Moriah, was fantastic! She had tables on opposite sides of the restaurant, but since they weren't very busy it didn't seem to be an issue. There were a couple of times when we had to ask for drink refills, but it wasn't horrible. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was good, and I appreciate that they have some options that you wouldn't find just anywhere. That's the kind of thing I look for in a restaurant. However there were a few places where they fell short. 1. There was no kids menu. This may not be a big deal for a lot of people. It wasn't a big deal for me since my toddler eats pretty much anything, so we shared. It WAS however a big deal for my 6 year-old niece who does NOT eat anything. They told my sister that they could make some butter noodles or take the harissa off of a pizza and make it a smaller size for her. She opted for the butter noodles which were bland and unseasoned. Then they have no salt or pepper on the tables so she couldn't even season them until she asked for some. It helped, but they still weren't very good. 2. The food is overpriced. It's good food, but the prices were a little steep compared to the quality. My sister and I discussed this later and we both had the same thought. We didn't understand why they weren't busy because they had the potential to be, and it just felt like they maybe were trying TOO hard. I would go back, but this wouldn't be a regular choice for me. I'd be happy to go if someone chose this as an option, and I might even choose to go back for a date night or something. I like the atmosphere of the place as well as how open it felt... I don't love a crowded space. Another thing I loved was the Smoked Caramel Bread Pudding. I'm surprised I liked it so much because I don't typically love added smoke flavor, but this worked! Listen, I LOVE bread pudding. If there's ever bread pudding on the menu, I'm going to get it. This being my birthday dinner dessert was absolutely fine by me. The edges were a little caramelized and it was absolutely delicious and everyone who tried it agreed. Give this place a try, but just know that you may pay a little more than what it's worth. I was immediately intrigued, especially since they're located in Pearland. It took a few months after HRW before I was finally able to try them out. Take Out: I've done take out a few times. The first time, I ordered at the restaurant. It took about 20-30 minutes for the food to be prepared. Miranda was so nice and offered me water while I waited. She was very friendly and personable. The next two times, I ordered online. My order was ready when I arrived both times, however the second time I arrived, service was extremely slow. I was in a hurry and didn't feel well so I left a little annoyed. Food: Cucumber Shooters - Really tasty! I enjoyed the walnuts and cream cheese. Deviled Eggs - The flavor changes monthly. The first time I had it, the flavor was olive and I didn't care for it. Nutella Board - I ordered a catering size for a party and it was a hit with the party goers. Smoked Salmon - I loved it! It came with an everything bagel, cream cheese, and an assortment of veggies. I had enough food for three days. Dine In: We were the only patrons in the restaurant. We also had a glass of the house white wine which we enjoyed. Food: Butter Board - This was extremely tasty! It's whipped butter with hot honey, garlic cloves, rosemary, and sea salt. The contrast of sweet, salty, and savory was excellent and I loved the flavor of the rosemary! It came with focaccia bread. Deviled Eggs - The flavor this month is dill pickle. They were much better than the olive ones I had a few months prior and I would definitely order this flavor again! The Pearland - This charcuterie board is one of their most popular. There was a nice assortment of meat, cheese, crackers, and fruit. I actually liked the beet crackers with the salami and sharp cheddar. TBTBTCBM never seems to be busy when I visit. It is hidden in the same shopping strip as the discount movie theater. Part of me likes that it's sort of a secret, but I want this business to do well. We were ready to camp out with a bottle of wine for a little while. Until... We get inside and see the tastings are pretty pricey. Prices range depending on the type of wine you sample, but I think we paid middle of the road 2 bucks for a plastic, thimble-sized sample. We ask for the sample. The woman behind the bar pours it in the tiny plastic cup and hands it over. And stares at us. So...nothing to say about this one? Must be a real winner. And as expected, it was not very good. We then sample another*, and she pours with no description whatsoever, and we cringe as we sip on this second sample. At this point, we know we'll be moving on, but we browsed anyways as we nursed this second, tiny sample. To our astonishment, they actually have some of the priciest wine we've ever seen at a Texas winery. As we circle back to the bar area, we're greeted with the following: "So, y'all want another sample or something?" ...thanks...but no thanks! *If so bad, why the second sample? 1. We're gluttons for wine/beer/punishment. 2. You got one free sample for "liking" them on facebook. We felt guilty about wanting to leave after having just one free sample. It was served with a side of green beans, puréed potatoes with a foie gras gravy. They have a descent drink menu. I walked the Wicked Wine Run that was hosted by Haak winery. It was poorly organized. There were…read morenot enough water stops and you had to wait in line to get your water. It was self serve and there were cups all over the ground. By the time we got to the second water stop there was no water left. And at the finish line they also ran out of water. It was very hot out and several people fainted due to the heat and lack of water. Emergency ambulances were called for those who fained. We had signed up for this event in March 26 and the event took place is Sept 26. That was plenty of time to prepare for the amount of people who signed up for the race. They also served red wine at the finish line which only makes people hotter. In the FAQ's they showed the route which went through the vineyards. We ran and walk on pavement through neighborhoods where there was little to no shade and it was extremely hot. Haak Winery did a very poor job organizing this event and actually put people in danger by not providing enough water and other methods like misting stations to cool people down. Do better Haak Winery. I will never go to another run hosted by Haak Winery. Very disappointing.
