My youngest kid had been wanting to try lobster for a long time, and I kept putting him off until it seemed like a good trade-off for having a staycation during their spring break. We ordered fried calamari after they had run out of shrimp cocktail for their Saturday dinner service (!), and it was decent if a little rubbery. Our family's orders included salmon, grilled shrimp, fish and chips, a whole steamed lobster and chicken tenders for the little one. After a single bite of lobster, my youngest declared it "weird" and "too bitter." In reality, it was fresh and delicious. It was the first time I'd ever ordered a whole lobster, and it was an experience to crack it open myself (with a helping hand from the kids, too, of course). The server had offered to have it split for easier access to that delicious lobster mean, but I thought it would be fun to do it ourselves. Our server was lovely and attentive, checking in with us a couple of times to see if we needed anything. The manager also stopped by to see if we were all right. We were there just a little before 6 p.m. on a Saturday, so it wasn't yet too busy. Visited Red Lobster to celebrate my mother's birthday since she wanted seafood. We were a party of six. Our server took our drink order, and we asked for five more minutes to look over the menu. About ten minutes later, a different employee came over and said she would take our order because the previous server "didn't understand us," even though all we had done was order drinks. That felt unnecessary and a bit insulting. The second server took our order but never returned. By the end of the night we'd been handed off to three different servers with poor communication throughout. We felt disrespected and dismissed as guests, especially on a special occasion. My family and I came here for Mother's day which I understand is a busy holiday for restaurants, but the service was awful it took an hour for them to even bring the biscuits and after waiting for 2 hours I asked to speak to the manager to see what was going on, the manager said she was going to the kitchen to see the status of our order she never came back, after 2 and half hours a waitress finally came with our food and proceeded to drop my families entire order on the floor smh. If I could rate the hostess alone, this would easily be a 1-star experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, yet the hostess, Leslie, placed us at an inappropriate table even after we specifically requested a booth. There were multiple open booths available, so the choice made no sense. When we asked to be moved, she then seated us at another awkward table located right next to what appeared to be the employee break area. It was clear from her attitude that Leslie did not want to be there, and her lack of professionalism showed. Thankfully, one of her coworkers noticed the situation and offered to move us to a more suitable table, something that should have happened from the start. The saving grace of the visit was our waitress, Egypt. She was polite, friendly, attentive, and overall provided great service. The hostess could learn a lot from her coworkers, especially from Egypt's professionalism and customer-focused attitude. Absolutely disgusting experience at Red Lobster. I was served a cooked roach on my salmon -- yes, an actual roach cooked into my food. This is beyond unacceptable. It's clear this location has serious sanitation and pest problems. The staff removed the plate and waitress was extremely nice so was the manager, but that does not make up for the fact that I was served something so vile. For starters we waited so long for someone to come and assign a seat that I had to ask a waitress if we needed to seat ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and worked very well considering the time and circumstances. We ordered the Admiral Feast with coleslaw and mashed potatoes as our sides....I figured I have had this in the past so I couldn't go wrong. The coleslaw was swimming in some kind of sauce, it was horrible. The mashed potatoes were totally tasteless, there appeared to be little on no butter or milk and the Admiral Feast entrée served on a tin plate was horrible. This place has hit rock bottom! I don't suggest visiting this location at all anymore. I really could not believe how nasty the restaurant was! If it looks that bad out front, how does it look in the back?????? GROSS. I went on a Thursday at around 4:30pm and the restaurant was 90% empty. Not one soul was waiting to be seated, but for some reason the hostess told me it would a 10 minute wait. The booth she sat us in was unbelievably dirty. The silverware was also dirty and the table looked like cats had been scratching on it with their claws. The carpet? TERRIBLE! They had lots of specials on the menu, but the salad before your meal is no long complimentary! You still get the hot biscuits but you're going to come out of your pocket for a bowl of greens. The food was lacking in every single area! I don't know what's going on at this RL but they need help ASAP! The staff all wore their masks underneath their noses, but at least they had them on I guess? Visited this restaurant for my aunties bday and I was impressed. I didn't have red lobster since 2 years ago and I was very skeptical. But to my surprise I enjoyed my meal and my dessert. I ordered the ultimate feast that came with crab legs, lobster, garlic shrimp, fried shrimp and two sides . Worth every bit of $45. However I did substitute the garlic shrimp for grilled shrimp and the fried shrimp for the coconut shrimp and they charged extra for the switch ( lame) .. They also charged extra to take those delicious biscuits home to go. I enjoyed my meal so much I forgot to take photos first. Tonight I went there to order a dozen of biscuits. I went to the bar and was told to go to the to- go -window , but the server was in the back packing an order . I waited about 5 minutes and was told by the bartender the server was almost done. When she came out, she did acknowledge us, but she took the order outside, came back and went to the reservation desk and began to wait on the guest who were waiting to be seated. I left at this point and so did another couple. My issue is this, I'm used to be able to get a to go order from the bar. The bartender wasn't crazy busy, why couldn't she punch in my order? Especially bcuz she knew the server was backed up? I know one thing for sure, they need a new system and more server. While they are at it, they need to renovate. It's a Tuesday evening. There is nobody at the host stand when you enter. Two minutes go buy until a server comes over to seat us. This should have been enough of a red flag, and we should have just left. The restaurant smells musty. The carpet is obviously dirty and has retained the odor of stains and splatters not cleaned in ages. We are sat without a full set of menus. As we wait at least 15 minutes to meet our "server," we've had enough time to decide-on and place our dinner order. After 20 minutes of my drink not arriving, I manage to flag our "server" to cancel it. There doesn't seem to be a dedicated bartender on-staff. After canceling the drink, we waited another 10 minutes (45+ total minutes since walking in) to see if any food would arrive. It did not, so we got up and left. I'm confident that it's the best decision we could have made. I would urge anyone not to come here. The brand is faltering and the staff, management, and maintenance have already checked-out. I DID NOT PLAN ON DOING A REVIEW.... I literally decided to go eat here because my friend wanted cheddar bay biscuits. We had a very long wait because of the kitchen staff being under staffed for the night. However it didn't stop them from making sure we had a great experience. Sam the manager was on the floor and attentive to anyone that may want his assistance. He came right over when we caught his attention and gestured for him come over to the table. He informed us of the wait time so pleasantly and we appreciated it. Then we were greeted by Kahala the waitress. She was so pleasant when she took our orders. The wait was definitely over 40 mins (again it was only because of a kitchen issue, not normal) but worth it. In between the wait Jordan assisted with making sure our salad orders were correct. The salad was amazing also by side the food. Honestly I have no complaints even though it is low light it's a good vibe even on a bad day for them. That's amazing to say for a restaurant that even when short staffed they still give exceptional service and that I am greatly for experiencing. Dropped by for lunch when we were shopping in the area. The place was pretty busy for after lunch, but by no means swarmed. Not sure if they were short staffed or their waiters don't seem to care, but often service was slow or the host was cleaning up tables. I asked for napkins and after an eye roll and no reply the host requested them over his communication piece. We were sat by the bathrooms, which was a complete turnoff once I realized why I kept smelling ammonia and urine when I was eating. The lobster roll had an abundance of meat, but it was lacking flavor completely. I had to mix it with tartar sauce and salt to doctor it up. 3 stars because my guests enjoyed their meals and the soup is still one of the best at any location. Had a definitive problem with waitress in the area were we seated. However, restaurant manager changed experience from very bad to enjoyable. It may be because of the labor shortage that restaurants are having. We had a Waitress that was just unresponsive, very unorganized and very very slow. Maybe the worst I have ever had. Here is a list of issues: - long time to acknowledge we were there (greater than 10 minutes) - never introduced herself - Took drink order, took over 10 minutes to bring water that was requested. Brought one drink, but not the other (over 40 minutes-kept blaming the bar - finally manager brought drink in 5 minutes) - brought food after very long time before soup We noticed the dissatisfaction with other tables in our area--three or four active. A couple that was seated across from us got up and left after being ignored for an extended. Once the waitress brought the manager over, our experience greatly improved. He explained that there was a party of 20 or more people in the restaurant that may have slowed down the bar, and then he went and made the drink. He also acknowledged that he would make sure the waitress received more training. Afterwards, he regularly checked on us. When the food came and I said he could cancel the soup, he said take it to go, and that he was compting (picking up the check) for the whole meal. The food was very good. Worth the wait. Red Lobster uses a table device to pay. When I went to pay, I wasn't even able to add a Tip because the bill amount was zero. We have been to this Red Lobster before and have also been satisfied. We regularly go to Red Lobster. The Manager definitely changed the initial unfortunate circumstances and turned our negative experience around--which is why I am rating this meal 3 stars. By the way, it is very hard to criticize a waitress, and makes me very uncomfortable. Tipping provides some level of positive reinforcement. Probably better when dissatisfied to positively point out what you don't like so the person can improve--we all need constructive feedback. read more

My guest and I patronized this Red Lobster on rt 22 in Union, NJ on a Saturday about 6:30pm. It wasn't crowded yet there were long waits for tables. However because we have the app we put ourselves on the waitlist 20 minutes before arriving and was seated right away. Jeff was our server. He was very kind and attentive. Served us with efficiency. The food was also good. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms, fish and chips and the ultimate feast. However the frech fries and baked potato were undercooked which is part of the reason for 2*. The cod fish could have also been cooked 3 minutes longer. The other reason for the 2* is the cleanliness. It was dirty and full of flies and gnats. The salt and pepper shakers were greasy and gritty. The walls had bits of crab on them along with the nests of flies. This red lobster needs a deep cleaning. read more
