I've been here a few times with different experience on service each time. Last time there was a group of 8 of us and the server was horrible. He took our drink orders and then didn't come back for at least 10 minutes and we wanted to put in appetizer orders. We had to repeat our order multiple times to ensure that he was hearing the right things. A few of us had endless shrimp and he took forever to come back each time so we had to order multiple in advance. The food is always amazing though and I've never had a problem with my orders. Service other times has been great. BUT ENDLESS SHRIMP in the fall - can't beat it. read more

First, we arrived at 7 on a Thursday evening and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. No problem. When they went to seat us, the table selected wouldn't work. We had 4 adults and a 2 year old and they tried to seat us in the bar area. Asked for a booth or another table, they made it seem like there were none available when I could see three clean tables from the hostess booth. From the time I got seated till I got my drink ( iced tea), it took approximately 30 minutes. When a restaurant is busy, imagine usually cool with waiting. They did not appear overly busy. The waitress brought the two alcoholic drinks that had been ordered, took our food order, then brought me my drink. From the time we ordered til we got our food took about 45 minutes. We had to tell the waitress We didn't have silver wear, ask for refills every time and point out things that were missed. Now, almost all of this so far can be forgiven if the restaurant is busy... It wasn't. Our waitress was acting like a new hire that had 40 tables and couldn't keep herself straight. She told us she would go check on our food immediately and proceeded to walk to the hostess station to talk. Food was the only real bright spot and the shrimp tasted good. Fries were Lukewarm and pretty terrible, but it's a seafood restaurant so I wasn't shocked. I ordered the "endless shrimp". Got my first plate. Waitress asked if she should put in my refill. Told her I wanted fried shrimp and shrimp pasta. Before I got my refill, she brings the check. Before I got my refill, she cashes us out. She then comes back and asked if I got my refill... I look at her like her head was spinning. She goes back to check and apparently someone else got my refill. She offers the other refills that are ready. None of which were the two I ordered. Because we had a 2 year old, I got my wrong refill to go. She put the shrimp scampi on its side do the bottom of the bag was butter sauce. The perfect end to a crap-tacular experience. The cheddar bay biscuits here have been served piping hot for nearly three decades, and the decor bespeaks a sturdy maritime ethos more Central Maine than Lake Springfield. I worked here two summers during College and what a happy two summers they were. Our staff of glorious misfits would all head to the old Bombay Bicycle Club after a shift to unwind with a cocktail or five and stumble through some late-night karaoke. And to the 5-top of construction workers that would come in religiously every Friday circa. July 1997 to knock back Budweiser bottles and surf and turf specials and then tip 40% ... Tried sooo hard to not eat at a chain but the local places from Yelp were too full. I sat at the bar because I was alone but the service was horrible. Simply because they were understaffed. Corporate restaurants are run by accountants. There is no line on the P&L for service. Food was ok because it comes out of a can. read more

Yesterday I met a couple of friends for early dinner. Won't go back . The server was terrible. Didn't serve biscuits until I asked & then forgot part of our order . Never served , acknowledged, or apologized for not serving soup . She ignored one of my friends & I had to get her attention. It looked like she had a problem with her. ?? The salads were lacking croutons & ( ?) whatever. My meal was not appealing & dry . So sad . I've enjoyed my meals in the past. We have an EXCELLENT RL at home so we decided while on a break from ball games, we would have RL, one of our favs! Should have waited the 30 mins to be seated at Cracker Barrel. For starters, we waited 5 minutes after being seated to even see our server. Next, out of broccoli, corn on the cob & baked potatoes, do to a truck issue. My blackened tilapia was not cooked in the middle. Yuck. Mashed potatoes were hard and the temperature of my food was insulting. My daughters fries were cold. Our chocolate wave dessert, "layers of warm, decadent chocolate cake" was near frozen. Cute. As I looked around and listened, I was surrounded by unhappy guests. Very unfortunate. read more

Went to Red Lobster with a friend yesterday, as a special treat. What a treat that was :( We came in at 3:00 PM. the restaurant was at about 50% occupancy. There were four other groups that came in when we did we were all told it would be 10-15 minutes to be seated. There were many empty tables, but more tables completely covered with dirty dishes that weren't being bussed. 15 minutes after we sat down to wait we were seated and told our "seafood expert" would be right with us. I checked my phone for messages when we sat down so I knew what time it was when we were seated. 3:20... at 3:40. We were hungry and thirsty and getting pretty irritated. During our wait, we witnessed two servers walking around chatting to each other the whole time, not serving, not busing, just walking around talking to each other. We never could catch anyone's attention to come wait on us. I saw the girl who seated us, go into the servers area and get herself a drink and standing and talking to the other workers. I finally got up and went to the hostess stand and let her know that we'd been waiting 20 minutes. Unbelievably, it took another 5 or 6 minutes before someone came and waited on us. The waitress who came was rushing to put on her apron and we asked her what was going on, and she said she'd just walked in the door and they threw her our way. I felt sorry for her a bit, we were pretty ticked off. We were ordering the $16.00 four-course meal so it was hard for her to offer us something for free to make it up to us. Another lady came over, she must have been an assistant manager or something, and talked to us and offered us free drinks or dessert or appetizer. But we didn't need those. More than anything we just wanted an apology. We were finally told that the hostess completely forgot to tell anyone we were sitting there, yes, because she was having fun in the servers station. We'd probably have ordered more high priced food if we hadn't been allowed to just sit, but the longer we sat the more we reconsidered the higher priced meals. I have to say that the food was excellent, amazing in fact. The biscuits could have been done just a little more they were kind of doughy inside, but other than that the food was amazing, and once we did get service she was great. Since we weren't given a discount on that meal or a free anything the manager brought us a $20 gift card for our next meal! Now that's a great and nice way to solve a problem. Very bad experience yesterday here. This place used to be great and we ate here all the time. Yesterday, however, the hostess was unfriendly. Our waiter was ok, but he was forgetful and confused. He finally brought out the salads, but the lettuce was actually warm( no tomatoes, no onion, a tiny sprinkling of cheese, a tiny bit of dressing. )We asked for more dressing, but he never did bring it. We had to wait on the biscuits because they were out. we got our shrimp, and it was ok, but no baked potatoes because they weren't done. After a 10 minute wait, we finally got the potatoes, but they were in a dish with a bunch of water in the bottom, like they had been boiled...very weird. No sea salt on them. This place must have changed management. Won't be back! read more

Ordered popcorn shrimp thinking it was going to taste like it did last time I had it, but it was very soggy. The breading had fallen off all of the shrimp. It was absolutely horrible. We also ordered him the lobster dip and the tostada chips were extremely stale. My bill was over $60 and I don't think it was worth $20. I will not go back again read more

I was recently employed here needless to say management was horrible they played favorites and katherine always made me feel like iwas walking on egg shells I got fired because I had a table walk out anyways the tables was sat a single man in the back of the restaurant it was after 9 PM and I was boh closer so I was cleaning and getting all that put away the host could have stopped by the kitchen where I was and let me know there was a table in the very back of the restaurant so they wouldn't let me work them I called to see what was going on and they refused to answer the phone when I did call 7 times in a row when I came to meet with Sam and katherine they didn't even listen to what I had to say they had already made up their minds she let me go i told her thanks for making me drive all the way across town to be fired thanks for wasting my time and she Ridley made a smart remark thanks for wasting their time i was a dedicated employee i worked 7 night s a week most of the time came in early stayed late it just felt like they had something against me after. Awhile and i was getting wrote up for everything other employees would so the same things but were overlooked heass were turned it just wasnt fair i dont reccomend anyone working for this corporate establishment it was very disappointing and u guys wo der why u have such a high turn over rate hes a tip get better management that katherine ruins everyone night while shes there read more

First time eating in this chain. Regardless of some of the naysayer reviews I've read, it was really good. I had the mixed grill with salmon. Danny the server at the bar was great. I was listening to the other servers at tables and handling take out orders and they were all so nice. When you start to read some of the comments left on line, it is clear that the expectations of some far exceed reality. Good food, good price, nice staff. So much for: "I wanted to rate it higher, but my water glass didn't get refilled for over 3 minutes." Get over yourselves. read more

The only reason I gave 1 star was the biscuits. Terrible food...ALL OF IT ! Here's a tip...maybe change the oil in the fryer a little more often. My family and I went there for dinner last night. Ordered 2 of the specials that were offered. The server put the drink order in the system but forgot to add the food order. After waiting for 20 mons or so I contacted the manager and told her what happened. The manager immediately took over. She brought out the kitchen manager who explained what happened and they apologized a dozen times. The server immediately, owned the mistake which was commendable. They discounted our meal but just wanted to say that they handled everything promptly and professionally. We tipped the server 20% of the original bill because she was professional enough to own up to her mistake and still provide the service. read more

Right... It's a Red Lobster, so you know what you're going to get. No mysteries here. My visit was Sunday, 11/4/2011. We went at 6:30pm and the place was really slow. There were 5 of us in our party. We got a couple of appetizers and the "Crispy Calamari and Vegetables" was well cooked. Everyone enjoyed it. I ordered the Harborside Lobster and Shrimp. Shrimp was nicely done, lobster slightly over cooked. Of course the Cheddar Bay Biscuits were delicious. The best thing about the visit was our server. She was amazing. Friendly, fast and genuine about her service, not just playing it up or milking it for a bigger tip. I don't like to go to Red Lobster often but next time i'm there i'll be asking for Shauna for sure! read more

Our experience here was great! Even on a Friday night, we were seated immediately in a cozy corner of the restaurant. The lighting was ample and not too harsh, and the room we were in was well kept. The waitress who attended us, Jasmine, was awesome! Without even writing it down, she got our orders perfect even after having a short conversation with us, and she has a great personality and sense of humor. She checked on us frequently and made sure our drinks were plentiful. The food we ordered came very fast and tasted wonderful! I had the popcorn shrimp and coconut shrimp. I rarely finish a whole plate of food, but this was delicious!! We had a Bahama Mama and a Long Island Iced Tea (a drink to which it is easy to add too much of a particular alcohol), both prepared very well! read more

Unfortunately we did not get same service and quality as other Red Lobsters Ive been too. We were seated quickly, but waited forever to be waited on. Waitress took our order, than never returned until our main course was ready, at that time we recieved our drinks, salad, and main course, which was 40 minutes later. Our food was luke warm, our salads were warm, and ice was melted watering our drinks down. Couldnt even eat anything. When manager came over she apologized as she said it was a new waitress, but didnt offer new food or drinks, basically told us to deal with it. We left and ate McDonalds. read more

The general manager, Samantha, called me today to apologize for the poor service we received and to gather some more information to see if she can help to make sure the problems we experienced don't happen for other customers or happen to us for future visits. There doesn't seem to be a point to writing a review, you know what Red Lobster is right? I've eaten at many Red Lobsters and its my moms favorite place up in Michigan, but this one in Springfield is just nasty. The strong fishy smell about drove me to leave as soon as I was seated. I ordered an IPA and when the waitress came back and said they didn't have it after telling me it was "in the computer" I just walked out. Being in the computer isn't nearly as good as being in the fridge. That place needs a major facelift. read more

Ordered take out via Door Dash. Driver had to wait 20 extra minutes for food. Despite her having placed the order in an insulated bag the food was at best lukewarm. By the time we figured out what was missing we were left with cold fish. The order was to include 2 ceasar salads with dressing. Only one was included. The other was a side salad with no dressing. Or the dressing is what I thought was the sour cream for my potato. Either way missing one of those. I would never order out or eat in this Red Lobster. read more

Walked in dressed nicely with my two quiet and calm children while my mother parked the car. I didn't need a high chair or a booster and as in standing a foot away from the counter the three women are debating on where (more of who) they're going to seat me with. After two minutes of listening I stood by my children who were looking at the lobsters. They did not say a word to me. I informed my mother what was going on she pulled the manager over as I took the kids to the car. The manager responded "well there's few tables we can seat a high chair at." Well the first thing I ate was the biscuit. And holy heck are those delicious. Soft and buttery with a hint of a foreign zest I just couldn't put my finger on. Old bay perhaps? Overall this red lobster was very good, Ceasar salads with shrimp were great, seafood chowder good and the 30 Shrimp dinner very good. Drinks a little expensive and taste a but watered down. My husband, toddler daughter, and I had lunch at this restaurant. When I first walked in, the smell overwhelmed me. My husband said it just smelled like fish, but every other Red Lobster I had been to didn't smell like that. However, our lunch for better from there. We were seated promptly and had GREAT service. Our food was prepared well and delicious. The waiter even made a fruit plate free of charge for our toddler. I couldn't even smell the fishy smell throughout our meal. All he said was they are sprayed once a week, which contradicts what the waitress told us that they sprayed daily for insects. They moved us to another booth, but guess what?!? Half of the food was decent like the crab of course but as soon as they brought me my plate I thought my mashed potatoes looked rotten because it was brown and gross looking. I had my mom try it and she said it was probably just instant mashed potatoes.. Yum. And my mom said her shrimp and lasagna tasted fishy. We ate there on Saturday Night 1/20/18 and we sat down waited 15 minutes waitresses were walking around us and didn't wait on us. I finally got up hunted down the Manager and told him about it and he came and took our order and then we were passed on to a nice waitress. Then today I was checking out our bank account and they charged us twice for our meal so now I have to go through the whole deal of getting our money back.
