Very average food. The salad was kind of dry and it was mostly romaine stalks and not enough of the actual leaf. The chicken parm should have been flattened but it was just a breast with uneven thickness which results in uneven cooking - meaning you overcook some parts to ensure the thickest parts are cooked. Kind of amateur! The salmon was terribly overcooked. The side bowls of pasta were a bit gluey/mushy from sitting too long, I think. The desserts, especially the tiramisu, weren't really edible - sorry, but they taste straight of a Sysco freezer. But, the appetizers were pretty good, the service is competent and they were friendly at the front of the house. I wouldn't go back but you can find something here if you have a craving for very basic Italian food. read more

Good service all around. I got the Mostaccioli. The pasta was good, the sauce had a really good, strong taste. Good portion too, so I had leftovers. I didn't get it baked, but turns out they can bake it in whichever cheese you'd prefer which is cool. We got fried calamari for an appetizer and it was tougher/chewier than normal calamari. This is a super small detail that I may be the only one that's annoyed by, but I felt like I had no leg room under the table because the extenders were in the way. Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday. We ordered the chicken Parm and lasagna which came with a salad, side or soup. We opted for the Milano salad with their house dressing. Sadly, the salad was the highlight of the meal. For the mains, their pasta sauce is sweet, so the side bowl of spaghetti with meat sauce wasn't to my liking. While the chicken Parm looked impressive when it came out, it was a small piece of chicken hidden under sauce & melted cheese. It was average. SO's lasagna was also average, mainly it lacked flavor. Service was average / on slower side. Unless it was the only thing open, I wouldn't return. Seemed pricey for what we got. read more

We had the best experience and food! We had a wonderful server, Kathleen. She was very friendly and helpful! We asked if we could sit near a certain spot, and they accommodated us, no problem! We had a wonderful meal of cheese, garlic bread for an appetizer with wonderful marinara and then had spaghetti and tortellini as entrées. We had a catering order for a business meeting fall through last minute, and the helpful and friendly staff were willing and able to accommodate a take-out order for 30 on very short notice. We had several people in our meeting who were vegetarian/vegan and who had eating restrictions, and there were plenty of filling, healthy, and hearty options for them to choose from. The staff was competent and understanding, the food was hot and well packaged. A staff member even took it upon themself to separate and label our bags for those with food restrictions, something that was a huge help. Received nothing but compliments about the food! read more

To begin, I'd like to note that our waiter was very good. This is where the positive notation ends. It took a while for the entree's to arrive. I'm ok with that if the food is good, and it was not. My wife order Chicken stisilli. The chicken was tough and was served in a watery soupy base. It should be a light creamy base. I ordered the Seafood Ravioli with Jumbo shrimp. The ravioli contained little/if any seafood. It was a mushy paste inside a pasta that was not quite done. The three shrimp placed atop the dish were literally the size of a quarter. In addition, it was way over cooked, to the point it could have bounced off the ground. The dinner salads were just ok. The salad was drenched, and the portions have become much smaller. At the end of the meal we did share our concern with the meal. The manager did visit the table and explained they have had some problems with staff. We use to love going to Bella Milanos years ago. This has been our third visit in the past couple years in hopes it would improve, but it has not. $130.00 before tip, for a truly awful food. We will not be back. read more

Such a bummer. Went here for a weekday lunch with coworkers. The good- the service was attentive without being overbearing. The bad- sadly the food. Had the Baked Mostaccioli- a serving of penne pasta with really substandard red sauce- it was cloyingly sweet. Sugar was the only taste note coming through from the sauce. If you are an Italian restaurant and you don't have a stellar red sauce- that's problematic. One of my fellow diners had the Chicken Stasilli- which may have been the smallest chicken breast I've ever seen served as an entree. The dining room has a bit of an old-time supper club vibe. The staff was amazing. Rory, our server, is really good at her job. She made us feel special even though she had several other tables. Monique, the manager, saw we were celebrating (two friends-first lunch together in over two years) and made sure we were offered not only delicious food and great service but a free appetizer. There aren't a ton of high quality food options in Springfield so I was pleasantly surprised by my visit here. I was in town visiting family and we went here on a Sunday evening around 4pm. Service was stellar - he was on top of refills and we never had to ask for anything. Although the food took a bit of time to arrive, it wasn't bad enough to sour the experience. This suggests that the dishes are prepared freshly rather than reheated in a microwave, which is a good thing. I started with the Bella Milano salad. The dressing had a touch too much sweetness for my taste, but the salad itself was well-made - it had just the right amount of dressing without being overly soaked. You also get bread served with a side of olive oil, cheese, and seasonings in it. This was good - the bread tasted a little stale though. I ordered the pasta con broccoli. It was really good. It was lacking a little bit of salt which I went ahead and added, but the broccoli tasted fresh and not frozen. My table mates got the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza actually looked really good, I would try one of those next time. Everyone liked their meals and there was no complaints. The decor falls a bit short and gives off a dated vibe, but a simple revamp with some paint and minor upgrades could work wonders. I live up by Cleveland. But I ordered some take out to be delivered to a friend that had surgery. I wanted to send her some cozy comfort food. She absolutely loved it!!! The only thing that I was disappointed about was she received 45-1 hr. Late. Not sure if was the restaurant or the delivery person? Also they never rang the doorbell to let them know it was outside. Late posting but went in last Sunday for dinner and had a great time. The wait was short and they put us in a nice booth and our server was wonderful. We asked that our food come out at certain times and she did a great job at that. I ordered the the seafood ravioli and it was delicious. The crab stuffed mushrooms were ok. Didn't care for the red sauce because you couldn't taste the crab. I also really liked the salad and bread. The only downfall would be that when arriving and getting seated the floors had a lot of debris, not sure if it was breadcrumbs or what... Hansel and Gretel around here somewhere?! It was an official meeting and dinner with the president. We had a private room reserved prior to our arrival. The dinner was started with calamari as an appetizer. Everyone chose their own main course. The calamari was well seasoned and has fried banana peppers with it. I had chosen red snapper. It was made with a sauce rich in butter and capers. We used them for an office party for 35-40 people. Their catering menu made it super easy to pick one meal and then let people decide if they wanted to come. The room we had was private and the two servers did a great job assisting us and taking drink orders. I think everyone was very pleased with it. The food was excellent. Especially the salad. My fiancé and I stopped in tonight to partake in 217 Italian Week and were blown out of the water by how classy the service was on top of excellent Italian cuisine. We each ordered the $5 Toasted Ravioli special but I knew that would not be enough for our Italian cravings! She ordered a side salad and a side order of pasta. I treated myself to a medium-well Pepperloin steak with a baked potato and side salad. I have been to Bella's several times but this was her first experience. The food was amazing as usual, we only took home two toasted ravioli and some of the pasta (only because she loved my steak so much she ate half of it). The real standout to me though was our waitress. When my steak first came out I cut through it in front of her she clearly could see it was rare/medium rare and I was not too pleased. She volunteered to take it back and when she brought it back it was perfectly done...so much so my partner in crime said it was the best steak she has eaten in 5 years (she is a steak nut) so that speaks volumes. To top it off, as we were getting ready to pay our waitress came up to us and let us know she took off the steak from our tab - mind you this was a $30 steak and we ate every bite, but the staff here is trained to understand how a poor experience can ruin a business! The food was overpriced and not authentic Italian. The crab cake was ok but came over fried spinach which was very greasy. The cream garlic angel hair pasta was ok, it was flavorful, but very heavy in the sauce not Italian like at all and the biggest disappointment was the red sauce on the spaghetti and meat ball dish my son was so excited about. It tasted so sweet and artificial like the processed ragu sauce from the jar you get at the store. The meat balls were ok if they only were in a better quality sauce. For a Italian place and the price they charged we expected a lot more. I gave 3 stars because the service was good but I do not recommend it. read more
