We would give 0 stars if possible since it's not 1 star. Wife and I arrived at 450PM on Saturday 3/7. There were several parties before us and we were told about 5-10 minute wait. WRONG. Finally got seated 30 minutes later at 520PM. After being seated and looking around there appeared to be at least a dozen empty tables that we could see. So didn't understand the delay. At 528 server finally showed up and took our order. At 545 wife finally received her salad. Wow almost 20 minutes to get a salad out. Then we waited for our meal and waited and waited some more. It was almost an hour later we finally got our food. All this time our server never informed us of a delay or offered to refill our drinks. The manager never stopped by either if there was even one on site. Also does Red Lobster have any hygiene standards for employees? I ask this as one employee walked by our table and he reeked no wait REEKED of skunk weed. This smell persisted for at least 5 minutes after he passed by. This has got be the worst run restaurant in the city. We can see why this chain is trying to fend off bankruptcy. We will not be returning any time soon. read more

We went to Red Lobster first on Valentine's Day and we had a reservation for 6:30 p.m. and they wouldn't serve anyone for over an hour & weren't serving any drinks at the bar. We decided to leave. You ruined our night because we couldn't go anywhere else. We decided to come again. On 3/18/26, we ordered at 6:30 p.m. and didn't get our food until 7:30 p.m. The steak was overcooked and cold. The waitress told us that she watched somebody take it off the grill, which is a big lie. The shrimp was cold. The salmon was undercooked and was fishy. The lobster tasted like chicken and the broccoli was crunchy. The waitress got to the point where she completely ignored us and walked by our table without checking in on us. We asked for the manager because they are bill was over $110 and the manager came back and only brought a $10 discount which was a slap in the face. He came back and brought it down to $26 so we were able to use the gift card for $25 & out of pocket cost was $1.00. The service sucked and it wasn't even busy. The person by us also was overcharged, the other table complained about food as well as another table by us. This ruined our night as well since we didn't even get out of there till almost 8 o'clock. This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had, and I definitely would never return. It was last minute on Saturday at 6pm,and I knew most places I'd normally go would be busy. I checked their site and saw multiple openings, which should have been my first clue. We got there at 6:10 for a 6:15 reservation, and were seated right away. I was surprised to see this place so dead at this time, since it had always been packed on prior visits, but that had been 10+ years ago. Our server was just terrible. It took probably 15 mins to even be greeted, and by that time we were ready to order. She came to get our drink orders and left abruptly before we could even order an appetizer. She came back and said the bar was behind, so we put in our order then. In the middle of me giving my order, she just walks away! She didn't say anything to excuse herself, and didn't return for at least 5 mins. We didn't get any biscuits until an hour in because she said the kitchen was behind too(despite being dead, but maybe they had a lot of to go orders, I rationalized). We finally got our salads after an hour in our seats and me having to ask, and even those were bad. They had way too much dressing and tasted like mayonnaise, despite being different dressings. I got up to use the restroom,and she took my salad (which I was done with, but she didn't know that), and more importantly, my fork. Meanwhile, I'm seeing other tables that arrived long after us getting their food. Finally,our food comes from a different person, and I asked for a fork. I didn't notice when she brought it, that it was a tiny lobster/crab fork, so I just ridiculously ate my meal with that, because our server was never seen again until we asked for our check. We both barely ate the food as it was horribly overcooked, cold, and just seemed off. It tasted and smelled bad, and I've had stomach issues for 2 days after eating it. Also, evidently they don't de-vein the shrimp anymore, which is totally disgusting and unacceptable (see pic). We got our check and got out of there asap. We were there for 2 hrs and 20 mins for just 2 people at a dead restaurant! The place needs either shut down or an entirely new kitchen and wait staff. It was comically bad, but paying that kind of money, with still a generous tip for this terrible food and service, was not funny. After arriving at 5:10, we ask the server what how many people were in front of us and they had said to but at that time they had lost our name so they said sorry. I asked to talk to the manager. They bought out a waitress that sat at immediately. They gave us our tea and our biscuits. We sat for two hours waiting on our food. The manager did come out and apologize. Ask if there was anything he could give us super salads or anything I said no we were getting ready to leave so he said please stay comp your food by the time we got our food. It was so bad even after waiting all that time I left it sitting on my plate. I love scallops, but they were unrecognizable. They had so much breading on them and they were cooked so bad. The clams of course were uneditable. The best thing was the brussels sprouts except they were cold. The manager said the problem was there wasn't enough people scheduled for the kitchen, but isn't that his job we were seated in the very very back of the restaurant so when the heat kicked on, it was so hot you couldn't stand it but when it kicked off, it was so cold you couldn't stand it. I watched one man get his food that said he wished he went to Long John Silver's because it would've been hot. It had been fresh and it tasted better he left. I watched two other tables get up and leave before they even got their food. It was a very, very sad experience. read more

You know those times when you're on the road, and food doesn't go your way? You get to the point where you want a decent meal...and I got it at this unassuming Red Lobster on Dirksen. I was welcomed when I entered, and Dillon in the bar was my server. I started with a glass of my fave wine, and he brought me out not one, but two baskets of those addicting biscuits - fresh & hot. The salad was fresh and perfectly dressed, my salmon perfectly cooked. All in all I left feeling full and feeling as though I scored a satisfying meal for a good price. The service was good. The food was rotten. I ordered a surf and turf steak m/r. Food arrived and steak was overcooked. Our server was attentive, returned the steak, and she apologized. Then I turned to my lobster and took a bite, it was rotten,spoiled. I didnt want to complain but my partner took a taste and spit it out. It was that bad. Got the manager Katie Hess. She explained that I could not take the bad lobster with me because she took it off the bill. I expressed concern that I might be sick because of the bad lobster. Then my steak arrived with a hair in it. I cant make this any better. The experience was uncomfortable, I left hungry, I am not from here and am on vacation. Not being a seafood eater myself it has been a very long time since I've been to this restaurant. I was very surprised by the cleanliness the service and the quality of food here everything was very clean, including the bathrooms, and the food was very good. I had a Caesar salad with the bacon mac & cheese, and My Wife got the coconut shrimp which was also very good. We also got a margarita flight, which was, a nice option to share. Last night I decided to come and have the Surf & Turf meal with Sirloin and Lobster. I added the garlic shrimp scampi skewer, and had the sea food stuffed mushrooms and a Caesar salad. My daughter had the kids meal with golden fried shrimp. My waiter was very courteous, but the food was less favorable. Whomever the chef was last night had a HEAVY hand on the salt.. The sirloin was perfect. The asparagus was delicious and the mash potatoes were served in smaller portion that I anticipated. My Caesar salad was very salty. Kinda just ate around dressing. My daughters golden shrimp were also heavily seasoned and so was the lobster butter sauce (mind you I am a person who enjoys seasoned food, not raise your blood pressure seasoned though)... And most disappointing was the appetizer of the seafood stuffed mushrooms... I tasted absolutely NO seafood, they should just call them cheese stuffed mushrooms, they are also so small I don't know what reasonable portion of seafood you can include. These appetizers are $9.99... I wouldn't typically pay that for 6 mushrooms but the emphasis of the "stuffed with seafood" made it a pick but I will not opt for that with the reality of finding little to no seafood at all with this dish. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to this Red Lobster on S. Dirksen Parkway here in Springfield, Illinois for my 63rd birthday! The food was simply amazing! The biscuits were hot out of the oven! The salad was fresh and crisp! And my coconut shrimp was simply delightful! The service was impeccable! Our server was, Kim, and she was absolutely wonderful! Very attentive, refilled our glasses, and checked back to see how the food was! Kim even asked if everything was all right a couple times. I was even surprised with a birthday plate with two scoops of vanilla, ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and the best raspberry purée sauce I've ever had! Both my mother, and I were simply overwhelmed by how delicious the food was and the impeccable service! This was during the lunch hour on a Saturday and we are so thankful that we chose Red Lobster for our celebration meal! The atmosphere was very clean and just delightful! I have not been to a restaurant and sat down for over three years. This experience renewed my faith that good restaurants are still out there! I have not been to a Red Lobster in quite sometime. We were on the road all day and wanted a nice meal, so we thought we would give it a try. Our food was really good our compliments to the kitchen. But the desert that my husband got was way below the 1st two courses. He got the Brownie. It was sort of like a flourless one, it was just super dense and just not what he expected. I have to add with all the sickness going around I was shocked ro see the hosts and servers standing at the hostess station (which we could see from our table) putting thier hands on thier faces, one even was chewing on her finger. I watched each of them pick up menu's and proceed to seat people or wait on a table and never wash or disinfect thier hands. That is a terrible pratice to get into. Most chain places are the same with decor and food. So like most Red Lobsters the food was good. I had the salmon and a side of scallops. And of course the cheddar bay biscuits are always awesome. Last time we were in, the snowcrab was dry. This time it was dry. I ran seafood restaurants in AL and GA. This happens when the crab is either steamed while thawed and left sitting or (and most likely) steamed and left sitting in a sad attempt to par-cook (which you NEVER do with crab, or most seafood) and then reheated to give the appearance it was just cooked. The "crab cake" (see photo) was a flat, disintegrating and dry disk...it wasn't even as big as a grocery store crab cake. Yet Sam (the woman manager on duty) said this was how their crab cakes are supposed to be (minus a little "flaking). We will never return...you shouldn't go either. Our waitress provided us with OUTSTANDING service. Whatever we asked for she brought us immediately and with a big smile on her face. It was my first time at Red Lobster and I will definitely be back. I had the four course meal for $15. The lobster bisque was sublime. My coconut shrimp was delectable. The garden salad was fresh with just the right amount of ranch dressing and croutons. I am now officially addicted to the cheddar bay biscuits. OMG, I could eat a basket of those all by myself. My brownie ala mode dessert was a nice ending to my meal. The only thing I didn't like was my wild rice pilaf. It actually tasted spicy as if the cook put a large amount of black pepper in it. I made a curb side order at my local red lobster for a certain time. I arrived and followed the text instructions and they said the order will be right out. I waited 20 minutes before I went inside to confused workers saying 'well the order was ready, I don't know why we didn't see it.' This is the THIRD time this has happened to me. Why have a curbside option, if I have to come inside. It doesn't make sense. I wish I could take away the one star review I'm giving. A one star review is a luxury to this establishment. read more
