Service was fine, but the food was not. Not is it only highly priced over $80 for two but apparently the only product they use on their food is butter. Pasta was bland and watery and not worth $30. Even the piece of lemon was roasted in butter. The appetizer was too sweet and the side dishes had completely uncooked green beans and over cooked small potatoes. Haven't been in a long time. This was my first visit to the Modesto Red Lobster. 30 min wait on a friday evening.(to be expected) Service was good and they didn't hassle us about how long we were there. Had the crab, which was fresh and delicious. Gave my server a good tip for being on top of things, but not hovering. I know that she probably needed us to leave at some point so we didn't linger too long after we were done with our excellent dinner. **Note: A good tip is 21+% people. It's good karma, so do it. I swore I'd never set foot in another Red Lobster after learning that one of their locations was shut down due to health code violations but I let my defenses down when my friends wanted to go. This location seems well run (except for the bar area at times) and the wait staff are nice. The food is as I remember it but seems like they've really been trying to up-the-ante on their creations. I thoroughly enjoyed this platter I ordered (forgot the name) but it had everything I like and then some. We have family in Modesto, Decided to try Red Lobster on a Thurs night - Big Mistake! Checked in at 6:15 and was told it would be 40 minutes, that was BS....finally got our dinner at 8:40. We had 5 adults and 2 children needless to say it made for a long night. Food was marginal at best, but by 8:40 I was so hungry the rubber lobster and overcooked steak went down fast! Endless Shrimp! 20min wait at 1:15pm. This place is busy. Even though the wait was a bit for a late lunch hour, they were very good at quickly serving us once seated. Ask for Tami. She was a great server. We tried all the shrimp and just to let those who love spicy the spicy shrimp is NOT spicy but good flavor. Our favorite was the grilled shrimp over all. Just wanted to share the worst experience we endured today at the Red Lobster in Modesto, CA. Today we called in the morning to try and make a reservation for a party of 12 for my daughters 18th birthday. We were told that reservations were not allowed. So we arrived at 3PM and was told that the wait would be 1 hour which we were ok with. But after waiting for an hour and a half, I asked how much longer. The hostess vaguely said she would check which took another 20 minutes. When she came back, she said that whoever told me that the wait would be an hour, shouldn't have said that. There were 2 reservations ahead of us which frustrated me more because I was told reservations were not allowed. Fast forward to our meal because for some reason we decided to stay. We all ordered and my plate came close to when my family finished their first serving the endless shrimp order. My son ordered chicken and linguini pasta. He received the pasta and no chicken. They brought the chicken after we were all done with our meals and they brought it with fries because they didn't want the chicken to be served by itself since the pasta was already eaten. By far the worst experience in ANY restaurant we have been to and I hope that you will address it. I had mentioned to the 3 employees that I would like to speak with a manager. The manager NEVER even came to our table. On another note, some of the hostesses looked like they rolled out of bed and came to work. They had the messiest hair and clothes not fit for greeting at the door. The one in particular was wearing a lacy sweater. Coral color and her hair was thrown in a ponytail and was just falling out. I came here for the first time a couple of weekends ago with my mom. Mind you that I thought it was my very first time at a Red Lobster's in general, but my mom said that I've been there once or twice before when I was young. Anyway, I was too young to remember it so I treated it as if I'd never been. The inside of the restaurant resembled a ship. All nautical like. Kinda cheesy, but kinda cute. The service was friendly and helpful. The menu was pretty big and I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to eat. But I decided to go for the Ultimate Shrimp Trio because the picture on the menu looked pretty darn good. Yummy cheesy bisquits. A pinch salty at first, but I got over it and ate two of 'em. My mom ordered us the Lobster, Crab & Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms that were pretty tasty. My ultimate shrimp trio had 3 yummy shrimp dishes with my choice of side (broccoli): walt's favorite shrimp (battered), shrimp scampi and shrimp linguini alfredo. I was seriously on shrimp overload. My mom had a combo of breaded clam strips and crunch fried fish. I had no complaints with the food. It all tasted great. But damn, it was a TON of food! We went home with leftovers. read more

I love this place when all of Modesto isn't here. This restaurant is awesome. And nearly perfect. When you come in everything is pretty clean. Their are always an abundance of employees. Seating is nice here since you aren't too close to other parties. Environment isn't very relaxing. My experience when I come is always great. The servers are always really good. Sometimes the servers take a while to check on the table for refills on drinks and breads. I recommend trying if they have it the four course meal. A balanced meal. Overall good restaurant but the down side for me is sometimes you have to flag a server down to get more of either a water or an alcoholic beverage. Food was extremely tasty and filling. Bread is super fresh and I got a spring scallop linguini it had a really good flavor. The Caesar salad was best I've ever had. The clam chowder could have been better. And the chocolate browny desert was great. Defiantly give this place a try and indulge into their tasteful menu. read more

We four had a perfect, delicious afternoon Christmas Eve dinner at the restaurant, which was not crowded. Our waitress was kind and considerate. The drinks were excellent, the Coconut Shrimp outstanding, and the Lobster tails slightly bigger than usual. The house salad was just a little on the skimpy side, but everything else was great. I had a $25 g.card and hadn't eaten at a Red Lobster in about a year so off we went. Doreen was our server and she did a fine job as far as checking in often to make sure we were happy and didn't need anything. I ordered the Island Mahi Mahi w/ shrimp and I had steamed broccoli sans butter as my additional side. I ordered the garden salad and used their tasty pineapple salsa as the dressing. The cheddar biscuits were a-ok- a bit more buttery than I like but not as if they had gone for a bath before being delivered to the table. My boyfriend enjoyed his Ultimate Feast with a substitution of grilled shrimp for the fried- I might be rubbing off on him although I doubt it. A manager didn't stop by to check on the table which I feel is something that Red Lobster typically does? My mother asked me yesterday if she could take my wife and I out to dinner at Red Lobster as it was our 5 year anniversary. Of course we agreed, and stopped in just after lunch service. Our server was a super nice girl named Marissa. She was very friendly, professional, and attentive. Kept our glasses full, checked on us more than once, always had a big smile. She even offered to take our picture. She earned every bit of the $20 tip. I would have left her more, but I didn't want the wife to start asking questions.... lol. Seriously though, Marissa was the best server I have had in a long time and she made our anniversary just that much better. You guys should make her a manager. read more

Walked in for the first time here and I must say it is a little confusing at first. Very nice and a great bar. Food is also good and pricing is reasonable. Service was excellent and very courteous. I had not come to your restaurant for awhile because I was upset from my last visit when I ordered scallops dinner. I was given six popcorn size pieces-the waitress said that's what you get for the dinner. This time we were the only ones sitting in line with open tables very visible for 20 minutes before asked if we would like to review the menu while waiting. When I was given the menu the choices did not include coconut shrimp which is what I wanted. They said only the five indicated. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!!!!! NOT ANYWAY YOU WANT IT IS It !!!!!!!!!!!! This is our family's fave place to eat. Food is great. The new interior looks great! But I took my family in there a little over a week ago and spent $300 +. I have to drive over an hour to meet up with my family and go. Not to mention I dont have money to spend like this very often. We ordered our food and when our main dishes arrived all but my daughters food was served. I was told they forgot to put hers in the order. Ok... we sat there and eat while my adult daughter had to eat off all our plates so she wouldnt just sit there watching us eat. We finished eating and my daughters food was still not served. Asked for the bill and told them to put her food to go. Another 20 mins before her food was ready! The waitress knew I was upset. Never sent a manager over or even offered to comp my daughters meal atlease. We left upset. I spoke with the manager about this issue and she said she was sorry but they were busy. I was there at 5pm they were not busy yet. She would use this as a training issue. I managed a restaurant. I know this is what they always say. Well it does not fix the discomfort of our visit. She took my address and said we will take care of you. I recieved yesterday a $20 gift card. This is a insult of taking care of your customers. My daughters plate was over $30 and the fact that we all had to give her food off our plates while she felt bad taking from us. This is just sad how much they appreciate their customers.
