Great experience at Red Lobster! We came in around 5pm on a Thursday and got seated right away. It was not busy. Our waitress was very friendly and let us know about the happy hour specials. She gave us the famous red lobster rolls and re-filled our basket when we finished the first one. I ordered the soy salmon bowl and wow those were the best brussel sprouts I've ever had in my life! And the fish was good too. I ordered the bacon Mac and cheese as a side and it was delicious! For drink, I got the raspberry Boston iced tea and it was great. This location has been one that my family has gone to for decades, and I'm shocked I have not reviewed it yet! Heck, even my ex boyfriend worked there for years so I'd pop in. This visit, Jessica was our server and was very friendly. The restaurant has not changed much for decor or seating through the years. Red Lobster has made some changes to their snow crab plate where it defaults to these crispy potatoes that it sits on. They were not very good and I didn't like that I couldn't do two sides like you used to be able to choose from. In the future, I'll go to a seafood boil place for when I'm craving snow crab. Our waitress was great! The food was very good. The experience leading up to our meal--not so great. We made a reservation for 4:45, showed up at 4:40. The hostess greeted us, started to seat us, then I told her we had a reservation. She clicked a button, said, "Oh, have a seat." Then moved on. Weird! No biggie. I'm rarely in a rush. We told her we'd wait at the bar. There was only one guest at the bar--already waited on--and the only bartender was also the service bartender. Okay. No biggie. I'm used to that. She threw an "I'll be with you soon," over her shoulder. No real greeting. Finally, she finishes her task, and then she walks right past us. No comment. She starts talking to someone behind the wall. That's enough for me. As soon as we stand up, she comes around, "Oh... I can help you now." Nope! We're still waiting for our table in an almost-empty restaurant on NYE, so I can't imagine it's because they are short-staffed. We were just about to leave when the manager shows up and walks us to our table, so we stayed. After all, Red Lobster has great shrimp. We had the firecracker shrimp for an appetizer and the coconut shrimp for dinner. Both were perfect. We both had the happy hour drink specials. The Pinot noir was pretty good, the LiT, not so much. For our 35th wedding anniversary, we went to the Red Lobster in Mesa, on Alma School Rd, a restaurant we have visited often over the years. I ordered my favorite, Salmon New Orleans with sides of Mashed potatoes and broccoli, and my wife ordered the Surf and Turf, with an upgrade to the filet mignon, a supposed 6 oz fillet. My diner was excellent and the server was just fine, but my wife's "filet mignon", was anything but. Their picture showed a normal 6 oz filet, usually about 2 inches think and round, but what we got was rather chewy less than 1 inch piece of meat that was NOT a filet mignon. The waitress took it back and later another lady brought out another "steak, that looked quite similar to the first. What these looked like was the filet part of a T-bone steak, thin and irregular in shape. It was also very chewy, not at all like a true fillet mignon. In the end we just put it in a box and took it home for the dog. A person, whom I believe to be the manager, did take off 20%, much appreciated and I did leave a large tip for a rather good waitress. Wanting a quick light lunch while running errands this Saturday afternoon. I stopped in at the Red Lobster. I asked to be seated at the bar to catch up on the college football scores on TV and ordered a cup of chowder, a glass of wine and glass of club soda. Alyssa, the bartender/server was friendly, welcoming and efficient in taking my order, and more importantly, in serving it. I enjoyed the hot cup of chowder with the Red Lobster biscuit ( I only ordered one) and my glass of wine. I asked for Tabasco and S&P to accompany my soup and Alyssa had it on the bar top before my order arrived. For my wants and needs, everything was perfect, quick service, hot chowder and biscuit and a crisp glass of wine. No added charge for club soda was a plus as some businesses choose to charge for a penny's expense. Alyssa met my expectations as a server as did the food. A very tasty light lunch and quick dining experience that I was seeking. Well done! Recognizing that Red Lobster as a company has many problems at the corporate level, employees like Alyssa will help them crawl out of the hole the prior corporate leaders dug for them. Was at this location last night with a very large crowd. The service was excellent, considering the fact that we had all age ranges, disabled, and all sorts of diets. We were there for a special occasion and the service couldn't have been better. Usually when we go with a large group, we have food servers and other personnel, who have no patience for large groups, disabilities or children. Went for dinner on a Tuesday to avoid the weekend crowds. About half full. Hadn't been to Red Lobster in about a year. Was always our celebrations restaurant. A whole new menu with the Boils and combos. Wife ordered a more traditional shrimp combo and I tried the Crab Carbonara. Started with the stuffed mushrooms. All the food was good and portion sizes were sufficient enough that we had leftovers for second meal at home. I added the Caesar salad which was fresh and bountiful although the dressing seemed a little thinned down. Used a 20% off (hard plastic) coupon that Red Lobster had postal mailed me about 6 weeks ago which helped with the prices for everything being on the high side. We had an excellent server Denzel who was very attentive and accommodating. Will be going back periodically when we are in the mood. And there are 7 different varieties to choose from. Although today they were out of shrimp ranging. They have a limited time offer on crispy dragon shrimp, which is really good. The service was good. here for a meal today on Mother's Day. It had to be the worst prepared food or should I say unprepared for some of it that we have had in many years of dining. Our server was amazing and did the best she could with the lackluster kitchen timing awful and a management that seemed to just expect that things kind of sucked. we wondered why it was not as crowded as we would've thought for Mother's Day though. It did have quite a few people in it. There wasn't a long wait like they used to be five we ordered things off the menu no special people around us got their food before we did and our server kept checking on it, but it was not to be found almost an hour wait for food and then when it came for of the five room temperature or Luc warm at Max one of the parties lobster was not cooked thoroughly and the crab legs upon being opened we're still chilled not even warm the side dishes ordered was not brought out and manager said it would be about one minute before it came. It was 20 minutes later before we got it most of us if we kept our food home with us to possibly try to reheat and see if we can make it edible. It was not worth the effort is a very expensive meal and a huge disappointment to what should've been a nice family get together, our family does not let outside sources ruin everything but this came darn close again. The server was stellar, but the Cook line and especially the manager was totally amateur. If not, just not tuned in. We won't be back. I attended a group seminar with a luncheon menu provided with many delicious options to choose from. Surprisingly, the restaurant serves cheeseburgers and chicken tenders which looked very appetizing as some attendees chose the Turf and not Surf items. I chose the coconut shrimp with loaded, really loaded (butter, sour cream, chives, cheese) baked potato with a very unique shrimp dipping sauce. There are a large assortment of nonalcoholic beverages to choose from including a wonderful, refreshing mango ice tea. The lead server was Maude, who was particularly efficient, prompt and professional, providing superior table service. Maude was very attentive to the smallest service details ,to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, with considerate additions as straws including for the water glass, lemon, sugar packet options, and serving piping hot cheese biscuits before the meal. The house-made Cheddar Bay biscuits are a specialty that Red Lobster is known for, and a treat for dining customers to look forward to. Maude ensured a wonderful dining experience for the entire group in the seminar and is an outstanding ambassador for Red Lobster. So before you read this review, look at my picture and guess how this steak is cooked. I come at 7.30. Put our order in at our first contact with our server...a minute or two before 7.40. Cool guy.. nothing less than what i would expect. Our food comes out after 8.20. I'm pretty pissed, but whatever just eat it and leave, right? But, my filet mignon is overcooked. I ask for a new steak, and i get a rear. And to top it off, it wasn't a filet mignon, AND it was salty af. I don't know what they gave me, but it was full of tendons. I have heard of nasty tales of the kitchen, and i guess i get to live it today. I'm wondering if they spit at my steak now. Am i being foolish? Someone who is willing to switch out my steak, something i rightfully paid for with something cheaper, and give me my week's dosage of salt in one steak might be willing to do something more awful. Been to Red Lobster restaurants from New York to California to Seattle, over a 45 year timespan, and over the past 15 years, the quality of the food has been on a continuous decline, to the point that I've probably had my last meal at Red Lobster. This visit I ordered the Lobster Linguini, and the highlight of my meal was the Caesar Side Salad that was Extra. While the linguine itself was cooked right, the "Lobster Sauce" was over powering, and the "lobster meat" was no better than bottom dragging scavenger leavings. Specifically, the "Lobster" pieces tasted like liver, were mushy, and definitely not fresh. The Langustino (not really Lobster) were very tiny, not pieces of fresh mature Langustinos. I recognize that the cost of all Seafood has increased sufficiently in recent times, but if Red Lobster is going to charge premium prices, they need to improve the quality of all the Seafood they serve! My wife had the "Fish and Chips" dinner, and her experience was no better than mine. Update: As reflected in the response to this review, I was contacted by Red Lobster "Guest Relations" and as requested provided more information regarding our experience. Subsequently I received an eGift card for use at Red Lobster in the future, something I will consider, but not at the same restaurant. It appears that the Red Lobster restaurants are franchised, so there's the potential that your experience at one, may not be found at others, thus my comment as to visiting a different restaurant in the future. I've always had a good experience at Red Lobster restaurants until August 21st. We finally got in an hour before they closed and we greeted by one of the rudest hostess ever she acted as if she didn't even want to be there at work. Second there was a big stack of dirty dishes sitting around on top of the bar throughout the hour that we were there eating you'd think that the annoyed hostess or the manager would come and at least take the dishes away since the waiter was also playing bartender kudos to Kenneth. Now down to the food your side salad that you normally get with your meal is now one of your choices in sides so don't expect a salad and the rice was crunchy and hard.
