I live near the ocean and can buy fresh off the boat seafood, so why am I at a Red Lobster? Well, many small businesses in this area are closed on Sunday and so we were left with chain restaurants options. This Red Lobster has a private parking lot with dedicated spots for pick-up. A hostess will seat you. Most of the seating are booths with nice high backs which make for a cozy little snug. There are lots of big window walls letting in the light. Even on this dreary, rainy day. Our waiter, Alec, was excellent. Red Lobster has a full bar and include some adult beverage suggestion in the menu. They also have iced tea, lemonade, sodas, coffee and hot tea. The menu, not surprisingly includes lots of seafood options, but they also have chicken tenders, hamburger and steaks. Soups are clam chowder or lobster bisque. Entree sized salads come with the option of adding seafood or grilled chicken. And of course, they drop a basket of warm cheese biscuits at the table soon after you arrive. I opted for a hot tea on a cold rainy day while my SO chose a Lagunitas. The tea came with a cup of hot water, plus a small pot of hot water to brew a second cup. Unfortunately the water was not boiling, so the tea didn't steep well, but today, that's OK. I really wanted a warm drink to wrap my cold hands around and that's what I got. Oddly enough, we both ordered steak: filet mignon and sirloin. Our sides included fresh brocolli, Ceasar salad and a baked potato with sour cream and bacon. The potato was nice and fluffy, the bacon plentiful. Ceasar salads were fresh, the brocolli cooked very soft: I like more bite, but I know plenty of people who would have thought this was perfectly cooked. Our steaks were cooked as ordered and had a nice 'cooked on the grill' taste. Alec kept a very good eye on us, checking in often, refilling my water, making sure our steaks were cooked correctly, etc. during a very busy Sunday lunch rush. When the check arrived he let us know he would take a cash payment but cards were paid through the monitor on the table and if we needed help with that just let him know. We are familiar with this process, added a tip and selected the 'email receipt' option. This restaurant was clean, well staffed and the food good quality. The restrooms, located near the entrance, were very clean and well stocked. We'd definitely visit this location again. read more

We came to Red Lobster with family for dinner. The place was busy when we arrived; hence, our wait time was about 10 minutes. However, the restaurant didn't seem crowded or loud. Our server Peggy was excellent. Her professionalism, her friendliness and her ability to know what was needed at the table was outstanding. We never had to ask for a condiment or for refills during our entire meal. All the entrees were delicious and were ample enough. We did enjoy the experience and hope to return again soon. The food tasted great. The portion was a lot smaller than the pictures on the menu. Especially since the prices are a lot higher than the last time I was there. I will pay for good food with good portions but not small portions. read more

Several weekends ago we went to the Red Lobster in Dubois for our sons birthday. 4 people ...... I have to say also that RL is my favorite restaurant. We ALL had the worst dining experience ever!!!! We had to listen to an asst manager yell at some young girl for using her phone on her shift, we waited for 20 minutes for appetizers, our service was awful, we waited for our cold food for 50 some minutes...awful. We didn't complain to a manager because of the whole screaming at an employee. We had a coupon was was not used etc. the worst service!!!!!!The lady waiting on us bragged that she had 9 children ( who cares) Our bill was 174$ and we literally were there for almost two hours. I'm sad to give such a rating. We always come here for celebrations, but tonight was not a good time. Our daughter is due to have her baby any day and we wanted her to have a good meal to remember. The waitress must have been new because she didn't ask for our order or if we had any questions after bringing our drinks. I saw her walk by our table and had to yell to order our food. Very bad. There were no biscuits until our meal was here. Why bother then? My shrimp scampi was burned to a crisp and awful. The lobster tail was good though. No manager stopped by to greet us or ask about our good. It wasn't what we expect for the price. I think we'll pick another place to celebrate the baby's birth. read more

Not what it used to be. We had to wait at the front desk for the hostess to talk to 3 different coworkers and try to figure out if they could seat 12 people and how long that might be. Then someone went to get the mgr to finally make a decision. Meanwhile there were 6 separate groups waiting behind us. Biscuits are nothing like they used to be. Butter shortage? We had dry biscuits with no flavor at all. Salad with your meal? Be ready to pay $2 extra now. You can have coleslaw. 1/3 cabbage 2/3 mayo. Prices are higher, much higher. This Red Lobster location is absolutely embarrassing. It's never good. The last time I went here, the service was the worst I have ever experienced. Slow, forgetful, had to ask for things multiple times. The food was mainly cold when we received it. At least it was cooked the entire way through, but cold. The baked potato was burnt to a crisp on the bottom. Totally inedible. We told our waitress and she just said, "oh ok". I told a manager about the poor experience and she apologized, but didn't offer any compensation. Never again. Do not come here. read more

I wish I had written down the name of the girl who waited on me but she was Beyond good . She asked how I was and I told her I was tired from working all day and I was happy to sit and finally eat . She was so sweet . She made sure I had a couple yummy biscuits before I even ordered . Fresh salad ( I hate wilty or watery salad) Standard Red Lobster fare , but she went out of her way for me so 4 stars for them . The only reason I'm giving them a 1 star is because of the excellent customer service from Andi. She was very attentive and professional. Aside from that, it would be 0 stars. From the time I walked in and waited to be seated for about 10 or more minutes, no one was at the counter to seat me, there were @ least three waitresses that looked at me, but never acknowledged me with a greeting or anything. I decided to call the restaurant and low and behold, after 5 or more rings, someone walks up front and ask how many. The funny thing is I typically would have walked out, but because I had the taste for Red Lobster, I decided to stay. I guess it's all relative. When it comes to the Red Lobster in DuBois, if it were in the Philadelphia suburbs, I would probably give this place a two-star rating, but given its location and the relatively small number of restaurants available, I would say it's deserving of a three maybe even a four. We arrived around 6 p.m. on a Friday night and the place was packed. The hostess indicated there would be a half hour wait and I think we probably only ended up waiting about 20 minutes. They did seem to keep everything running smoothly and quickly. The guy who seated us was extremely friendly and our server was attentive and knowledgeable as well. We were all satisfied with our meals that ranged from the parmesan crusted tilapia to the coconut shrimp to a New York strip steak. I had the steamed crab legs and thought they were reasonably well done, but they seemed a little dry toward the top. All-in-all, excellent service and fair food. read more

Alicia was a fantastic waitress! Overall service was quick as we noted we were in a hurry. Biscuits were very delicious - we went through 2 batches and Alicia accommodated in providing a 3rd to go. I asked for salmon (very reasonably priced $12 for 5 oz!) to be seared rare but they are required to cook to a min 150 so Alicia suggested I get it baked/broiled to keep in the moisture. It was very delicious! The pineapple salsa was good and the meal came with two sides AND a salad. Wowzy. My mom got the Cesar salad as her side with her 10oz grilled tilapia but didn't like how much dressing they put on. Alicia was very accommodating in taking it back and getting another one with dressing on the side. TLDR: Large size and lots of sides and fish options and chicken for those who don't do fish. Everyone is so nice. They treat you like family. They know me by name. I feel very wanted there. They know the menu inside and out. Always coming back to check on you. Drinks are never empty. I was on vacation when I stopped in this location. I have to say that I'm very glad I did. It was one of the best meals that I had the entire week, including fancier & more upscale restaurants in the area. The service was great, the prices very reasonable, and the food excellent. I also ordered an alcoholic beverage in which you get to keep the glass. Parking isn't an issue since this restaurant has its own lot. I wish that I had time to go back! read more

Just watched what appeared to be a manager and junior employee breaking down boxes of frozen shrimp and traying them IN THE PARKING LOT NEXT TO THE DUMPSTER. Food safety advice sir: those food service gloves don't do anything if you're handling the outside of shipping boxes and PUTTING YOUR ARMS INSIDE THE DUMPSTER. The service was average but the one thing I didn't like was they made us sit the whole way in the back by the opening to the kitchen and there were girls back there talking inappropriately. We have never received such horrible service at a Red Lobster. Our server came and we weren't ready to order and 10-15 minutes later she returned, took our order. She came back rather quick with our salads and then we waited. She came by and told my husband she'd get him more water. We waited at least 10 minutes and she came with our food and his water. Then we never saw her again. We waited and waited and finally(about 15-20 minutes) another server asked if we needed a box. Yes and 2 minutes later she came withe the box and our bill. Then again we waited. Finally my husband asked the manager if he could pay the bill. She said sure took the money quickly. I left because I was afraid I say something not so nice. I have been to this Red Lobster several time and I have not had a bad experience yet. The service is fast and friendly and the food has always been good. My recommendation is get as many of their cheesy biscuits as you can. They are probably full of something that isn't good for you but they are delicious. Last time I was here I had to wait for a table. They do lack enough waiting room, but the line moved fast and I had my cheesy biscuits quickly. Red lobster is a decent slightly dressy chain restaurant and this is a perfect example of how it should be done. Will visit again. read more

For price, the plating and portions are average to meger. Ir may just be a chain thing. Service was average, yet friendly. I've had better experiences at fellow Red Lobsters. I wanted to like this place because there is not much to choose from in Dubois, PA. Everything was overcooked. My wife actually sent her fish back because it was like rubber. This is out of character for us and we were both nervous to do so but the manager was very polite about it and took it off the bill no questions asked. The waitress seemed like she was too pissed to talk to us after that but it really wasn't a reflection on her so I am not sure why. She did continue to be cordial. They do have a good selection and they were good about our complaint so I am marking it up higher than the quality of the food deserves. read more

had a 4o minute wait,got seated,waitress, friendly, took out order,,had to wait for almost 20 mins for the biscuits,got our meal after waiting another 15 mins,,was told our baked potatoes were still cooking in the oven,,,finished our meal then low and behold she brought out our baked potatoe...and I said,wow, we get our potatoe when im done with my meal...she must have told the manager that I wasn't happy,,manager came over and apolized for the delay and offered us a free dessert..which was nice of her,,,but she should have due to the potatoes problem...ranch dressing was different and had no taste...not nearly as good as our other meals in the past..it seems like this place has gone down hill a lot in the last few years,sad to say....:( read more

What a great meal and service. MO was a excellent waitress. She is top notch. I had the triple item special. Firecracker shrimp, coconut shrimp, and shrimp cheese pasta was excellent. My wife had one of the woodfired meals. Salmon, lobster, shrimp! Great wood flavor. We were visiting Dubois, pa for a few days. This was the best Red Lobster meal we have ever had.
