On a recent visit I learned two things. One, they only take cash now. The other is that they only do hot dogs and chili dogs. I always remember getting raw oysters and my grandfather loved to get their cheeseburgers. But I get it, they are mainly known for their chili dogs. Ms. Ann and the crew there are some of the nicest people on earth. I will forever come back here.

We stopped here years ago and hoped the food was still the same. It might even be better than…read morebefore. We started with a bowl of gumbo. It was loaded with little bites of sausages, chicken, shrimp, and scallops. All those proteins were nestled with just the right amount of spices in a rich broth with onions and tomatoes. A nice helping of rice topped off the dish nicely. We shared the grilled catfish fillets. You have an option of one, two, or three fillets. We opted for three for only $21. The filets were good size and nicely grilled with a bit of blackening seasoning. The meal came with a single trip to the salad bar and a side. The salad bar has several options of pasta salads, chopped lettuce with toppings, and a sweet slaw. We chose the blackened new potatoes as our other side. We thought that they were really good. Bread options included: hush puppies, cheese, bread, or yeast rolls. The hush puppies were a little overdone. So we were able to get an order of the cheese bread. Which is large yeast rolls with cheddar cheese, baked in the top. They were really good. The servers are friendly and never seemed to stop moving. The seating is basic older restaurant booths and tables which are comfortable. They offer interesting sayings at each table such as... "I'm not saying it's your fault. I said I'm blaming you." They have a full bar and lounge. Side note-the parking lot is huge and has plenty of room for vehicles towing trailers.

We decided to overtip. Even though it is in a historic building in the heart of Dothan the ambiance is just ok as the location is awkward to access and the view from the front window is very lacking. Nothing short of moving to a new location could alter that so overall it was enjoyable. I'd go back.

It included two sides. I chose the elote street corn and fried squash/zucchini. The steak had a nice grilled flavor and was cooked perfectly. I was expecting it to be a little more tender, though. The fried squash was hot and fresh. I like to hit it with salt while it's still hot. The elote street corn was the star of the show tonight! The corn tasted fresh. It was seasoned very nicely and the lime juice put it over the top! All in all, a good meal. I ate every morsel. I wish I had saved room for dessert!

We started with a lemon drop martini, which was fantastic. Then came the Hot Crab Dip... and wow. Hands down the BEST crab dip I've ever had. Big, perfectly seasoned chunks of crab with a rich, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture--absolutely worth the hype. The Cajun deviled eggs were just okay flavor-wise, but the presentation was beautiful. For our mains, we tried the blackened redfish special topped with crawfish sauce over potatoes--so flavorful--and a basket of fried oysters with fries. The fries were fresh, thick-cut potatoes fried to perfection, which I always appreciate. For dessert, we had the bread pudding with banana rum, and OMG... so delicious. We also tried the beignets--definitely recommend eating those fresh and hot instead of taking them to go. They also offer brunch, so I'll definitely be back to try more. Highly recommend--this place is a must-try if you're in the area!

September 20, 2020…read more Never thought of traveling but my heart convinced me otherwise. Explored around Burlington coat factory to get some things. We got hungry and decided to go to the food court. Not much was open but I happened to noticed this little joint and thought "hey.. let's try this out!" They will say it's gonna take 15-20 minutes but let me assure you.. it will take at LEAST a good FULL HOUR before your order gets out. Do not believe them if they say it's gonna take 15 minutes unless you multiply it by four. So when you decide to come here. Make sure you have your time planned out! Here is what I recommend.. Do not come here hungry or you will be hANGRY! [Its okay to have a snack ready to much on.] 1. Take your order. 2. Then go have fun window shopping around the mall and set an alarm an hour from the time you have ordered. 3. Once your alarm has gone off or you have noticed that an hour has passed. Patiently walk your hungry self over to see if your order is ready. Ask them what is available because most of their dishes are not there anymore. It's a bit pricey because.. you know... it's seafood! The wait might just be worth it? Ehh.. yeah, just might be haha. We received the order about an hour and fifteen minutes after paying. There was so much food! We thought we wouldn't be able to finish it all but we killed it! They put the perfect amount of flavor into their dishes! I was amazing how good it was! No condiments necessary. Tastes better than most "fancy" restaurants I've gone to. This spot has given me a whole new standard of how seafood is suppose to taste like. Oh but make sure to bring your own wet naps because your hands just might get messy! Service! The workers are nice and it seems like they are all friends or family within but I just wish they didn't lie about how long it would take for the food to come out. Also make it clear when asked what they have. Make it simple and say YES or NO. Do not confuse me with explanations please! "Do you have tartar sauce?" "Yes or sorry we do not have tarter sauce." Do not say " Oh we have hot sauce and ketchup if you like and we will be making tartar sauce soon" The food is delicious! It amazed me! Just be honest about the time and what you actually have. Sorry for the rant but I have to make this clear so it does not happen to any of your other hungry customers. Looking forward to coming back here to enjoy the food next time I visit this lovely state!
