I started with the beef tartare which was great, nice beef with great flavors. The cauliflower was also excellent though I would have preferred they served it with my main rather than a standalone course. I also really enjoyed the duck, not at all gamey and a very nice size portion. I did feel the wit between courses was a little long, particularly as they weren't very busy, but I wasn't in a rush. A quite enjoyable meal.

Rodneys produces its own line of sauces and each was more delicious than the last, not too spicy and a great range of flavours. The service was also incredibly fast. It was Taco Tuesday and the tacos were great. They were haddock and perfectly fried. The aioli was great and little messy (in a good way). They have a hot sauce carousel from mild to wild as they said. I mixed the last 2 and that was the magic touch of spice and garlic. The oysters were great and perfectly shucked. The fish was overly battered, with only a very thin piece of fish inside. It was much overdone, rubbery and did not taste good, on all 4 pieces. The lemon caper mayo was very good though, had a nice savoury flavor. They were generous with the fries, but by the time they got to our house, they were soggy. The flourless hazelnut chocolate ganache torte with raspberry coulis, wasn't the most appetizing. It had a chai flavor, cardamom and ginger taste. Which didn't go well with the raspberry. Whipped cream melted into liquid. This order came to just under $60, which seemed pricey. I heard a lot of good things about this place since I moved to Calgary and was quite disappointed. We may perhaps try dining in and giving it another chance in the future after reading the most current reviews.

My entree was the pan seared chicken breast. It consisted of Ricotta Dumplings, Vignarola Fricassee, Wild Mushrooms, Chorizo Chips, Basil Pistou, and Chianti Reduction. Every piece of food on this plate needed to be there to make this dish as delicious as it was. Every single bite was delicious and pleasurable. The ricotta dumplings were so tasty and soft to the slice of the knife. It was excellent. I loved it!

It is located in the suburbs and a bit far from the actual Calgary Chinatown, but it came with ample parking and prices with the high quality food were simply unbeatable (Small: 5.95, Medium: 6.75, Large: 7.35 CAD). No carts, but dim sum is served all the way up to 3pm. We came just before 2pm and were seated immediately. The restaurant was huge and very easy-going at this particular time. We ordered the classics off a paper slip -- shrimp rice roll, siumai, har gow, turnip cake, ham sui gok, etc. -- and were blown away at the portion size which were on the larger end of the spectrum. They certainly do not skimp on the filling. For instance, the siumai and har gow contained very plumply-sized shrimp. Flavor was spot on as well. The hot tea was complimentary which is unusual from my parts. When we finished ordering, they even brought out a complimentary dessert which was a slightly sweet agar type thing. What a great end to a short and sweet visit to Calgary! We even had so much food to take back through airport security. The parents were much pleased with the leftovers.

My craving must have been intense because I didn't even think about it and started my long walk there. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. The bathroom is in the basement, the first floor is a bit small but has some tables, and the second floor has most of the dining area space. Interior decoration was pretty minimal but there was kpop playing and it was a bit dark in there so if you're looking to get a few drinks and Korean food with some friends, this would be a great spot. When I was sat at my table and I looked through the menu, the first thing that popped in my head was that they had quite an extensive menu. From army stew, bibimbap, bulgogi, and what I decided to get Dakgalbi (marinated chicken bbq). The Dakgalbi was really good and marinated well. I wasn't expecting the fried rice at the end to come with it like in Korea which was also really good. The only critique I have regarding the food is that there weren't that many side dishes (banchan) and the lettuce on the side was an extra $5. Service was on point. Thu and the woman server, I forgot her name, worked well as a team to make sure everyone was taken care of even though they had to walk up and down those stairs probably 10+ times just when I was there.
