My 1lb of Shrimps, with Medium Captain's Boil Sauce. Great but need more sauce.
C T.

It's been a year since we've had the bag of 2 lbs of Shrimp in the medium-spiced Cajun-garlicky Captain's Boil sauce due to the pandemic It came with the Broccoli and corn we ordered. That sauce makes the Shrimp! The shrimp are fully-dressed. Best part is snapping the shrimp head off and sucking that delicious sauce from the head! It was so good! We also ordered Seafood Fried Rice and Calamari appy. The fried rice was enjoyed by all. A teeny bit spicy with bits of seafood like squid and shrimp and corn. The Calamari was sooooooo tender & slightly chewy. That dipping sauce is to-die-for! Everything made it seem like we were at the restaurant. Captain's Boil, please consider opening earlier than 5 p.m. for people like us. :)

So it was my husband birthday and made reservations at lulu bar but a day before he requested to go to a low key place. Because it was his birthday, he thought "what restaurant does susy always says no when I suggest it". And so Captains boil it was. I have nothing against this particular restaurant, but eating with my hands and have my face all slobbered with sauce is not my thing. So I always have passed. However, at my husbands request I put my gloves on and bib and had really good shrimp with okra and corn with very generous portions. Okra was cooked just right. The sausage and clams my hubbie ordered were yummy too! Sauces were spot on. I am a Believer now and will be coming again. Just don't come here on a first date. :D They also observe covid measures and have limited seating so call ahead and reserve a table. They also have a sink to wash your hands in the dining area.

I've noticed this is a hit and miss. Sometimes their captain boils sauce is good and sometimes it's not. We order medium all the time for level of heat and sometimes it's too spicy it's not edible and sometimes it's perfect. I came back again today and was disappointed in the sauce it made me sick I couldn't finish a bag to myself. But when I came last time it was so good I ate 2 bags. They really need to work on consistency I don't think I will be back for awhile.

If you know how good seafood taste then this place is not for you. Less than impressive tasting food with a whopping price leaves a pungent taste of regret.

We went to this restaurant after completing an office move. We definitely had a strong appetite. We ended up ordering for about six people. We had three lobsters, 3 crab, 3 lbs of clams and a variety of other side dishes. For sure it was a lot of food. The quality of the seafood is high. The clams were nice and plump and meaty as was the lobster and crab. The sauces were delicious and being able to add and control the spice level was great. I have to say a very enjoyable meal. On the negative side the restaurant doesn't have blinds on their windows. We had half of the table bathed in sun for the whole meal. The other bigger issue is the cost. Our bill came out to 450 dollars. The seafood was good quality and the experience was fun. But it's hard not thinking about how far 450 dollars could take you at another restaurant. Also sides like corn should really come with the order of seafood.

Absolutely amazing! I come here almost all the time for some delicious seafood boil! It is just amazing! Would love to go back again as soon as I return to Calgary! Cheers!

Customer service was great. Food price a little expensive but worth to try if your first time.

Cool atmosphere, but very expensive. The food was good, but I'd rather have a plate or bowl instead of a plastic bag and gloves...

They should provide a 2nd sauce. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, which came with white steamed rice which we liked since most places you have to order rice separately, but the cubes of pork were so small, lean and quite dry and the carrots tasted old. We ordered the phingsha which was overpriced for what it was. Portion size was very small, the beef was dry and chewy. We would like to come back and try some other items, but we weren't overly impressed with our choices other than the chicken momos

Unfortunately, the online…read moreordering system was a bit quirky(not all the menu items were showing up) when my husband tried to order on his iPhone, so I had to place our order the old-fashioned way (via our landline) instead. Our food was prepared quickly (20 minutes), packed efficiently(i.e. remained hot and intact in their containers without any leakage), and was ready for hubby to pick up when he arrived. #3. Momo Platter($16): these are definitely our favourites(we prefer them steamed)! The platter includes 4 beef, 2 vegetable, and 2 tofu momos that should be eaten with their homemade chili oil sauce. #25. Chicken Gyathuk($14): this is like a chicken ramen with bits of vegetables in a flavourful broth. The chicken is shredded/torn and very tender. #26. Beef Thenthuk($14): this soup hits the spot and is so comforting on a chilly day like today. I love the thick, chewy hand pulled pasta which reminds me of the Xi'an biang biang noodles. So, in response to Jonny M., I'm sorry that you were disappointed, but these noodles are not like Chinese la mian! #27. Beef Mokthuk($16): what can we say? This soup is another winner! There are plenty of beef dumplings in this bowl for three to share!

We were pleasantly surprised with how great everything tasted. The udon is freshly made and the soups were so flavorful. The chicken was so tender and went really well with the broth. The tonkatsu sando was light and crispy and the sauce was tangy and smoky. Great spot for late night eats! It's located next to lots of bars so it was pretty loud. Servers were super nice and accommodating to let us move to a different table since it was too loud.

Of course, we must give it a try. The ambiance was amazing and made me feel like I was in Japan. We ordered two udon and hand rolls. The hand roll didn't quite meet our expectations and was a bit small, but their house soy sauce was delicious and not too salty. We ordered the shaved beef and shredded chicken udon. They were top-notch. The udon was fantastic, chewy, fresh and served with flavorful broth. We finished everything, including the broth. The portions were generous. However, the happy hour promotion was only for plain udon $8 and the meat was the regular price. It was actually a bit pricey without the happy hour promotion.

I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen and Spring Rolls and they were both delicious with super fresh ingredients. The only other time I have had ramen was in Japan, and this was definitely comparable to the quality there. The broth was wonderful, as was the pork. My only complaint food wise was the sauce the spring rolls came with. It wasn't the usual peanut sauce I would expect with this dish, but more of a soy sauce tasting sauce. Additionally, this location was very difficult to find. It was on the second floor of an office building that was locked when I tried to get inside. I called the number on the sign and it was not picked up, but after about 5 minutes or so of waiting they came down with my order and gave it to me.
