I can't say I recommend them. My condo building used them to strip/grind and repaint our metal balconies. After they were finished it was a goopy, sloppy, uneven mess (like I could've done it myself with no specialty tools, in a bad way) and about a year later the rust is already coming through my balcony again because they did such a poor job at buffing, grinding, actually covering tough crevices with paint, and sealing. While they were painting we had to tell them and show them they didn't go a good job, leaving rust droppings and dried paint scraps in crevices of the railing that they *painted over*. They came back a day or two later and not only gave me attitude but their second attempt they didn't really make a difference. In my photo you can clearly see they allowed a thick coating of gloopy paint covering an entire seam at the upper part of the corner, and textured bits being painted over instead of smoothed or simply dusted off read more

I had a really bad experience with these guys. Chris was nice enough when he gave me an estimate, but the guys who did the work - not so much. Apparently bad language was ok to them. My real issue was that I had to clean (floors and my baseboards) for a couple of hours after they finished and I still have some paint on my couch that won't come out. Paying them turned out to be a bad move because trying to get them to correct their mistakes after that proved impossible. They painted my living room and dining room. Really? Must I give one star? I hate to do this, but alas -- I must. I was excited to work with them as nearly all the reviews were fab. Try getting a consult scheduled with these people, though...it's not easy. My tale begins when I called the first time: Chris, the owner, called me back promptly, successfully and quickly got a consult scheduled. Well, we have just moved in -- things are hectic...contractors, movers, decorators, etc. When I had to cancel our consult because of a furniture delivery coming A MONTH early (completely out of my control), I called to cancel and I got a prompt response acknowledging my cancellation. Good to go thus far. I called to reschedule a few days later...I wasn't called back for over A WEEK, so I decided to call BACK AGAIN. When I, very politely, told Chris about this lapse of contact when he [finally] answered his phone, he could not have given two *bleeps*...hardly acknowledged what I said and just sat there silently waiting for ME to continue the conversation. Okay, now I'm thinking, "Is that just me or was that rude?" I move past it. Well, Chris (or his other employee Jeff) not calling me for a week REALLY threw off my schedule, because I needed to get the consult done IN that week and half I wasn't called...so scrambling to find a date before our Fall Excursion to Boston (our only vacation this year), I made the consult for the end of October, a few days AFTER we came back so that it didn't need to be rescheduled. Well, wouldn't you know it -- the day before our trip, our lil' puppy slipped on the deck, hit his head HARD on the ground, and ended up in the ER with severe head trauma. No trip for us, and nursing a sick puppy. :( So, I called, explained the situation again and told him I'd need an earlier appointment on his voicemail since we were no longer going to be out of town. Well. Again...FOUR DAYS have passed now, NO response. I understand I'd needed to reschedule twice by this point, but these were clearly NOT reasons I could control. When a client asks to be called back, and is being responsible and attempting to not "no show" the company when they show up at the house and I'm unavailable or not around...I'm trying to not waste THEIR time. Since I've done my part, attempted to cancel and reschedule regardless of the chaos going on in my life and they can't do the same....I'm not wasting another minute trying to get a hold of people who won't call me back. I'm on to a better company who got back to me within an hour and has 100% good reviews. Go with Venetian Designs guys. Far more professional, much better attitude, and understand the benefit of doing good business before you pay them a dime. It's the entire experience, Red Line, not just the paint job... Red Line Painting is the ONLY painting company you'll ever need. Chris Rutledge, the owner, is most professional and so unlike any business owner I've encountered. His website is fantastic, easy to navigate, and includes a tremendous amount of useful information. A self-avowed "paint geek," Chris's proposals are clear, concise and extremely fair. His knowledge of colors is a blessing for those of us who lack the color coordination gene. His paint crew? THEY ROCK! My husband and I were fortunate to have RLP paint our condo. Even with a slight miscommunication in color choice, THE CREW (Sylvester, Rob, and Chris2) handled the entire job with the highest level of professionalism. They were timely, tidy, fast, and personable. Never, in 3 days of work, did we have less than 2 men working on our unit. They stayed until the job was not only done but done to our satisfaction. How unique! Btw, Chris was out of town when our work was scheduled to begin, and Brad (another owner perhaps?) took care of all the details. Brad is calm, cool, and collected and Brad knows paint! We looked at two other proposals. RLP was neither the most expensive nor the least expensive. Great work was much more important to us than was finding the lowest price. I am so glad we chose Red Line Painting! Jeff was amazingly helpful, professional, and courteous. I requested a quote online, and the next day he came over for a quick walkthrough. The next day I had the quote (beating his deadline by a day), and as soon as I approved it he scheduled a color consultation at my request. REDLINE TO THE RESCUE!! My previous contractor cancelled on me the day before they were supposed to start. I called Redline up and they really helped me out of a huge pickle... These guys were great. They were able to give me an estimate with no hassle. I called them up on Friday and they were able to finish my unit (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) on Sunday in ONE DAY (vs all other contractors who estimated 2 full days). Not to mention they charge almost 30% CHEAPER than other competitors. I am a stickler when it comes to research. If you are like me, stop looking and call these guys up now. They are BY FAR the easiest guys to work with The only complaint I have is that i picked Benjamin Moore colors, and they eventually used the analog colors from Sherwin Williams without telling me. The colors are the same, so I guess it all worked out in the end. I just wish they had told me. So if you are truly set on a specific brand, be warned that they use Sherwin Williams if you don't specifically tell them. read more

SO even though they just started painting when I left for work this AM, we have been so happy with Red Line's service that I had to start Yelping early. Our contact Chris R has been totally accessible via email and phone. He came for 2 free consults, and was able to book us when we wanted. We moved all our furniture for them and forgot to remove the nails in the walls, but he happily said he would take care of it, along installing 2 light bulbs that I nor my husband could reach due to 12' ceilings. It just goes to show that he goes above and beyond with no hesitation. I will update when I get home today to check out how it looks, but so far the service has been excellent. ***UPDATE Got home and the first coat looks fantastic. START TO FINISH....HARD TO BEAT! We hired Redline to paint the inside of our home while we were out of town. Start to finish it was an excellent experience. We started by having Redline out to scope the work. They were highly consultative and knowledgeable when it came to paint colors and materials. By the next morning we had a formal proposal sent in PDF that was both detailed in the scope of work and easy to read and understand. Contacted these guys after finding seepage issues from the infamous split-face block the walls of our condo were built with. They prepped, caulked, and used Modac to paint all the exposed surfaces. I couldn't have been happier with these guys. I just moved into a new condo, and had halfway thought of painting it myself, but thinking about how much work that would be and days and days of painting and purchasing materials, I just decided to get it done professionally. I called for an estimate and right away and got a proposal emailed back to me. The price was so great (honestly I was thinking it would be double- I've heard of people paying big bucks for paint jobs) for an 800 sq foot place. Here's how I would describe their work: clean, very detailed, super super even coatings of paint, professional, and friendly. They arrived at 8am and finished at 4pm- I don't know if they would ever want to claim they do jobs in one day but I was very impressed that they did. Here's how you can tell if you have a professional painter- they don't leave a mess, the trim is perfect in every area (ceiling to wall, wall to molding, and that 2 inch space between your bathroom vanity and shower- all the way down to the floor). Red Line Painting just finished the entire interior of my son and daughter-in-law's home. They never disappoint, but this time was by far the BEST job ever and we owe it all to Brandon. I had booked the painting but my daughter-in-law met Brandon and his crew at the start of the first day. Her initial impression of him was more than favorable but by the time they were finished she said she would never use any one else. I feel exactly the same way. They did such a beautiful job - and it wasn't easy! They turned deep green, blue, purple and brown walls to white and you would never know what colors laid beneath. We used Red Line Painting to take on the task of painting the property Iron Railings, Gates, Fences, 10 Front Balcony Railings, and 8 Rear Steel Balconies. This was part of our buildings 10-year maintenance plan for rust abatement and normal wear-and-tear. This was no small job and I personally wasn't looking forward to it given the scope of work needing to be done, but Red Line handled the job professionally from beginning to end without a hitch. Chris, the owner, was very responsive to all reasonable requests and often replied to e-mails at all hours of the day/night. While their quote is not the cheapest nor the highest, but they did offer a better warranty and seemed more knowledgeable than the other 3 quotes we received. The quote was clear and very detailed for each portion of the job. We also had a special color request on the front balcony and they easily accommodated us. Once our Condo building accepted their bid, we moved on to having contact with Brad who scheduled and oversaw the project to completion. He was also very readily available via e-mail and phone for any concerns/requests we had. Juggling 10 units and owner-availability to access the balconies can always be a pain, but they handled it quite well and were very accommodating to all of our unit owners. They were able to get to all balconies without renting a boom, which saved us thousands of dollars. There were just a few missed spots as to be expected in such a large project at such great heights, but they were readily available to come out for touch-ups until we were 100% happy with the job. The quality Sherwin Williams paint they used should allow us 10 years of peace of mind. They also will come out and do touch-ups as necessary for a reasonable fee in case any maintenance is needed in the year's to come. Obviously time will only tell how well the paint holds up, but the initial result and work is fantastic and our building has instantly gained increased value in curb-appeal for years to come. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our garage door worked fine at 7 am. At 8 am our nanny arrived to find a worker from Red Line "doing something" to the garage door. He walked away when she went to open the door. It wouldnt' open. She asked him why the door wasn't working and he didn't answer her. First, we didn't even know they were hired to "clean the door frames" by our association. I thought some random person was breaking into our garage! Second, both the workman and his supervisor Brad were horribly rude and assert that nothing the workman did could have broken our door. Really? It worked fine at 7 am and didn't work at 8 am after he "did something" to our garage door??? The company now refuses to have it fixed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

They asked me to prove they do great work and asked me to give them the business. I find this sort of approach by them to be unheard of in the industry. I gave them the opportunity and they did a great job! The guys that showed up were on time and polite. The painting and drywall work was great. I add again, this was the best quote I received out of 3 quotes and the work did not at all reflect the lower cost. Admittedly they are not the best communicators, but the work done and the guys doing the work were top notch. I will use them again and I recommend you look past the potential communication short comings and give them a shot. Based on the reviews here I called to schedule an estimate. They were very prompt in scheduling an appointment. 3 days later I received a bid on the job that I thought was very reasonable. I emailed to clarify the timing of scheduling the work and did not hear back from anyone for 3 days and only after I called again. Once my questions were clarified I called to schedule the work. Again 2 days went by and I called again. I then received and email of available date they could come in. I responded to the email my choice of dates based on their availability. I never heard back from them again. 3 days later I called to see if they were coming, still not response. In my opinion, you quote is only good if they don't have a better job that comes in the door. Instead of being up front with me they keep avoiding my job. My job was only $1000 and must be taking a backseat to something better. I would be suspicious of making a down payment in fear they get a better opportunity and your work never getting done. read more

I got several estimates for painting our condo's metal outdoor staircase. Red Line had the best price and they also were very professional in providing a very detailed proposal, so we went with them. Chris managed the project from start to finish which I really appreciated, because so many contractors sub out their jobs and you end up dealing with a few different people which can be really annoying. Once they started it was finished promptly in a couple days, and then Chris came back to inspect the job and complete any minor touch-ups. They are a very efficient operation, it was refreshing to deal with them. I ended up hiring Red Line again for another job inside my condo and again they did a great job at the best price. Red Line Painting has done two overnight jobs for my store, Home Carpet One, over the last year. Suffice it to say that it takes a lot of trust to leave a crew of painters in your store overnight. Chris and his crew more than were worthy of that trust. The job they did was first rate. The projects both came in on time and on budget. Every day by 2 pm or 3 pm there was a supervisor on site to go over the prior night's work and preview the work they were going to do the next night. My husband and I had Red Line Painting paint three rooms in our condo. We were absolutely thrilled with the process from start to finish. First, Chris responded to our request for an estimate right away. He was understanding of our annoyingly full work schedules and found a time that worked for us to come over for an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable. We met with one other company and RLP was significantly less expensive despite being much better reviewed. As we've never used professional painters before, I had a lot of questions. Chris responded to my e-mails in a timely manner and was extremely helpful. As first-timers, we could not have asked for nicer, more professional people to work with. Chris and his two employees arrived 15 minutes early on the day of the project. He explained it to them and was on his way. In addition, he required no deposit OR payment until the project was completed. That gave us confidence that the job would be done right. We used some darker colors and the painting work is close to flawless. They even spackled some spots on the wall before painting. It's also important to note that our condo was left cleaner than we left it. The only way we could tell anyone had been here was by the colors on the wall.
