While the food was decent, Red Ginger made up for in fast service and very reasonable prices. It appears that they are running a special (unknown for how long) --- but you all rolls are 50% off. (I work corporate for a retailer so we will see how long this actually goes on and/or if it is legit). Regardless -- the selection is huge, appetizers are very inexpensive and most importantly... they keep my soda refilled. Keep it up Red Ginger! read more

So, here's the low-down on Red Ginger... If you are looking for the next Sushi Den, move along... if you'd like to keep your sushi tab under a hundy, you might be interested in this place. Their sushi is not bad by any means (be careful to not overlpad yourself on sushis that contained cream cheese... a lot of their sushis do, and cream cheese comas are the worst!). But, they are also not particularly high quality, so you might not want to venture out too much. However, in comparing their price to their quality, you cant beat the value! Tips: 1. They do half off their sushi all day erryday. 2. Buy two sushi rolls, get a soup or salad free. 3. King Roll is bomb! 4. They have 3 Jumbo roll options, all good but the first one on the list is my fave. 5. They give out little Guava flavored candies with the check... sooo good (it's a very interesting flavor)! read more

Really good sushi and hands down the best value in town! It's always my go to. Highly recommend!

Red Ginger has some great rolls and some OK rolls. What makes me a fan is their prices, two rolls = free soup deal, green tea, and red ginger. Yep, their ginger is actually red. LOL I like it. It's not too strong, perfect. Their rolls aren't overstuffed with rice. My favorite roll is the Red Ginger. It truly is DELICIOUS and very tasty. Good service too! Ambiance is OK. Not bad tho. Four stars from me! read more

Loved it! GREAT pricing ... everything 50% all the time ... and not marked up to start. Clean place. Only issue was the little gnats flying around "bugging" us throughout whole dinner. Patio is in shaded parking lot ~ but at least they have one! Staff was very kind & helpful! Will definitely return ~ Phenomenal selection! read more

It's great sushi and was 50% off all rolls so super good. The habachi is not cooked in front of you so that was a little disappointing and they put a sweet teriyaki sauce on everything when they bring it out. Still good and the kids liked it just don't expect Benihana's since it's like 1/3 of the price. I would come back for the sushi though read more

Love this sushi place! I have been here over 20 times and always have fresh fish. There prices are extremely cheap so I never spend over $20. I love the cucumber rolls and hand rolls. Highly recommend! read more

This is a review just based on a delivery. While the delivery was slow, the food here is cheap and was definitely tasty. We tried the red ginger roll special, hot baby roll special, and the soho roll special. The soho definitely lit my mouth on fire for a bit, but I still enjoyed it. I love this place - I've never had a roll that tasted fishy (in a bad way I mean - like old fish) like some other sushi places around the Broadway area (Taki sushi I'm lookn' at you: using old fish in a California roll? T'sk). I've eaten here almost a dozen times and, for around $20, always walked away stuffed and satisfied. The servers have always been nice too. It's no high end Izakaya Den "impress your date" spot but for their prices and great location, Red Ginger has always hit the spot. read more

A lot of the reviews here are completely unfair. This appears to be a family owned place that provides good quality fish at a very reasonable . They are not marketing themselves as a high-end or trendy establishment. Their approach is clearly about value and they do this well. Only suggestion would be to get rid of the 40% off on rolls. If the special is going on all of the time, just make it the regular price. read more

This is my go to sushi spot, I have been here more than 10 times. The prices are seriously unmatched and very low. The food is also unmatched and incredibly tasty! I like to order the sweet potato roll currently for 3.50 as are many other rolls. I've not seen cheaper sushi anywhere. The shop is clean and very cute. The food comes to the table quickly and the waiters and waitresses are friendly. You can sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs making your food. They also offer mochi ice cream and Ramune Soda. Do yourself a favor and visit Red Ginger! read more

I love this place and can't get enough! I love coming here with my children, the staff is always so kind and helpful. They are family friendly and have boosters and high chairs. I have 5 little ones all under 5 and the staff is always so patient and kind to my family every time we go in. Their food is amazing and on top of that you can't beat the price! Our favorite is the calamari rolls and the pink flamingo. If you are a sushi lover like me and my children I would strongly suggest red ginger. You can't beat the price and you don't want to miss out on the great service you will receive every time you come to eat there. read more

At first, I wasn't impressed because we ordered this as delivery. Going to the restaurant was a different experience. The food tasted much fresher and service was excellent. You get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting large rolls or anything to write home about but I was expecting the sushi to taste somewhat good. It was very fishy and pasty and the rolls, while they were 8 pieces instead of 6, tiny in diameter so it was a lot of rice. We ordered the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and the shrimp tempura. I saw it sitting on the bar trip ready to be brought over for more than 5 minutes. While it was busy, there were 3 servers who walked by it and had nothing in there hands and didn't end up going to a table to do anything so I was pretty disappointed in the service. If the service had been lacking but the sushi good, I could have still given this 4 stars but wow the sushi was questionable to say the least. The spring rolls we ordered were crispy on the outside but mushy on the inside. Overall, I will not beg coming back. I'd rather pay double and have delicious sushi and great service at Fontana up the street. read more

I have never in 30 years on this earth wrote a review for any restaurant, good or bad, but this review needed to happen. Being in the restaurant industry I understand how bad reviews effect businesses and I still couldn't help but start a Yelp account to try to save someone from terrible sushi. For the last week I have been working on a farm and eating really crappy food so my expectations were LOW heading into this meal. After taking a bite of tuna sushi I realized that I wasted $35 on fish that wouldn't make the cut on a KingSoopers sushi tray. I don't expect great sushi in Colorado but I do expect to be able to tell the difference between yellowtail and mackerel but my yellowtail tasted like horrible mackerel and my mackerel sushi (my favorite cut ever) was so gross I spit it out. The rolls were sliced into 7 different sizes and were so mushy that I couldn't finish them. This place is over priced for how extremely low quality the food was. Maybe put as much effort into the food as you did with your "Covid barrier" and it would be edible... I wish I could give them negative stars. read more

The low prices definitely reflect the quality of the sushi you are getting at Red Ginger. This place is ideal if you really want cheap sushi and only order items like California and vegetable rolls. If you are looking to order tuna or any other raw fish, maybe go somewhere else. The tuna used at Red Ginger is basically canned tuna fish, but you get what you pay for. They have a pretty extensive menu, and the presentation of food is nice, but again the overall quality is low. The service is a little slow... on one occasion, our sushi just sat at the bar for nearly 15 minutes waiting for our waitress to notice it, I was about to just go up and pick up the plate myself. On a different visit, we had to flag our waitress down to take our order after waiting far too long. If you don't mind paying a little more for better quality sushi and better service, skip Red Ginger. However, if you are craving sushi on a budget, or don't mind a lower quality, you will probably find Red Ginger to be decent enough to satisfy your sushi cravings. read more

started coming here frequently after work. the vibes are chill, the people are friendly, the food is great :)

OOOH, nelly. I am in some big big trouble. My friend and I have sushi about once a week. When she came to visit me in Boston, we had found a favorite place that had this one special roll called an Adam maki roll. I can't remember if it was tuna or salmon, with crunch, spicy mayo, and avocado. Sounds pretty simple, but so hard to find! We've been looking all over Denver for something similar. For two years now, we've been looking. I was really way too excited when I got a menu in my mailbox from Red Ginger and saw the descriptions of the rolls. We came for lunch and ordered sashimi ($3/2 pieces; tuna, salmon, scallops) and one roll to share. PERFECT. (we got either the S22 or S33, I think). Sushi lunch for two for under $30? (maybe even under $25, including tip). We will be back. Oh yes. We will be back. read more

I hate to do this but after a week of contemplation I can't justify more than a two star rating. Really, I've experienced MUCH better so here we go: First, the Unagi is a joke. We're talking a flavorless slab of eel that is no bigger than a quarter. I'm a self appointed expert on Unagi. It should be slippery and full of flavor and it should leave your mouth in a state of bliss. Less than impressed with the serving here. Next, let's discuss the service which was fine if you like asking for a glass of water three times and then it arrives at the end of the meal. I wouldn't say we were ignored but we weren't attended to either. The employees were nice and I would still give them a star cuz I'm that kind of guy. The rest of the meal was the horrid "T" word - typical. Nothing stood out about this place other than the cheap prices. But hey, you get what you pay for so 1/2 price is a red flag that screams low quality. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible but you can get the same stuff elsewhere with a bigger bang for the buck. Also, I have to say this place was too darn bright. I mean, having sushi on the sun is great if you want a tan, but at an evening dinner with friends I shouldn't have to wear my sunglasses. I want Sonoda's back... read more

I decided to try out this place after several of my friends had said it was yummy and it was too late to cook. I really wish I had not. I will preface this review with the fact that I used to work at a fairly high end sushi restaurant and therefore I have pretty high standards for sushi. First I'll start with the rice, it was bland and the texture was completely off. For anyone that knows anything about quality sushi, you know it starts with the rice. When that is barely palatable it isn't a good sign. Then let's go to the fish, out of my trio of Salmon rolls (salmon avocado, salmon skin, and spicy salmon) I was only able down a couple pieces. The salmon skin which is usually one of my favorite rolls was inedible due to the fact it tasted rotten. The salmon avocado was OK but you could tell it wasn't very fresh. The spicy salmon was seriously gross (I blame myself on this one as I know spicy anything is the crappiest part of the fish). But seriously, it wasn't even good enough quality that I would have been willing to eat it cooked no less raw. I also ordered their namesake roll and the flavor profile was completely off balance. The eel was too sweet and there was waaaay too much cream cheese. I will give them that their shrimp tempura was delicious. Over all I will never get sushi from there again, but if you are really not picky about your sushi it is definitely a bargain. read more

The best kept sushi secret in the Mile High City. Calling Red Ginger a diamond in the rough is the understatement of the year. This place is pure, solid, 14k Gold. There's not much more a man can ask for in life than the love of a good God fearing woman, and a great roll of sushi. Well, imagine if that roll of sushi was 50% off what it would normally cost....always....as in every time you go. Call it a gimmick, call it a marketing ploy, call it what you will, Red Ginger provides top quality sushi at a 50% discount rate, always (cue angelic choir). Now, I'm sure, if you were like me, this would raise some red flags in your mind. How's the quality (amazing), how's the portion sizes (normal), how's the service (fantastic). There has to be something that makes this too good to be true! Well, dreams do come true my friends because Red Ginger delivers at every turn. Located right on the corner of 6th and Broadway this little piece of Heaven has been a date night staple for the wife and I. The longest we've ever had to wait to be seated was about 15min, and the servers are always pleasant and attentive. The ambiance is casual, and every once and a while they'll have a football or soccer game on the TV. But all this is rubbish in comparison to the star of the show: the menu and prices. Wrap your mind around this: A Spider Roll: $6 Dragon Roll: $7.50 Spicy Tuna Roll: $3.50 Spicy Salmon Roll: $3.50 And the list goes on and on Now, with those prices you'd expect something like a King Soopers quality roll of sushi. This is not the case! It's legitimately delicious! Now, to all the pretentious sushi snobs of the world, please don't even come through the doors and be seated. Save yourself the time. Is this the best sushi I've ever had in my entire life, no. But, if the best sushi I've had is a 10/10, Red Ginger constantly (and I've been at least 7-8 times) delivers 8.99999/10 level sushi, day after day after day! You will not find a place that delivers better sushi, where you can walk out the door stuffed for $50 or under, ordering for 2 people. I dare you to find a place that even comes close. Actually, save yourself the time and defeat, it doesn't exist. Red Ginger will win, every time, hands down. As you can tell I'm passionate about this place. If they sold T-shirt's I'd buy one and wear it to work. And while I even debated posting this review (out of selfishness and wanting to hide Red Ginger all to myself) I thought it was time to let the good people of Denver know about something that has the potential to change their life. SO The next time you crave sushi, do yourself one of the best favors you could ever do and go to Red Ginger....or don't...and save those delicious rolls for me! read more

After driving past Red Ginger for months, one day I decided to see what Yelp had to say. I was impressed by the reviews and told my fiance that we'd have to try it soon. Just a few weeks later, we got a menu in our mailbox and sushi was still 50% off, so we figured we would give it a try. I almost wish we hadn't. We ordered scallop and tuna sashimi, the hunk roll, mango tango roll, honolulu roll, rainbow naruto roll, and the avocado, asparagus, cucumber roll. First things first: the sashimi. The scallop "sashimi" was not anything like we expected--it was diced and mixed with spicy sauce, served inside some type of a cucumber boat and topped with tobiko. It wasn't all that great, and after one bite each, we unfortunately decided it just wasn't worth it. Maybe they gave us the wrong thing? Unfortunately, we ordered delivery so couldn't ask. The receipt said scallop sashimi, though. Anyway, the tuna was a bit better...it was what we expected and it was decent...but it didn't taste fresh, at all. I was bummed because if the sashimi is the best they've got and it's not fresh, that means the fish in the rolls probably isn't all that fresh, either. Bummer. Hunk roll: mango, green lead lettuce, asparagus, and cucumber inside soy paper topped with kiwi, mango and kiwi sauce. This roll probably tasted the best (in my opinion), but it wasn't rolled tightly at all and was very difficult to eat. Also, my roll didn't have asparagus in it at all and although I thought it was topped with kiwi and mango, plus kiwi sauce, it was only topped with kiwi, plus a mango/kiwi sauce. The sauce was tasty but there was just a bit too much of it. Mango tango roll: eel, avocado, cucumber, bell pepper topped with mango and eel sauce. Fiance thought this was the best; not much to say about it, but the avocado added a nice touch and it was nicely rolled. Honolulu roll: spicy tuna, jalapeno, mango, and kiwi mango sauce. We ordered this without the jalapeno and it was still super spicy. It was yummy, but much more spicy than your typical "spicy tuna" would be. The mango cooled it down which was nice! Also, the tuna was chopped and mixed with the spicy (I presume mayo) sauce, so you couldn't actually taste it, just the spiciness. Rainbow naruto roll: tuna, salmon, white tuna, and red snapper, kaiware, and avocado wrapped in cucumber. The cucumber made the roll a little wet and harder to eat. We wished it was a little bit more like a traditional rainbow roll, but they have a traditional rainbow roll, so we probably should have just ordered that, instead :) The fish was...okay. Avocado, asparagus, cucumber roll: what it sounds like! Tasty, if not a bit bland, but then I guess that's probably to be expected anywhere. Overall, I'm caught between a 2 and a 3 star rating. The rolls without fish were great, the fish wasn't all that fresh, and the sashimi wasn't exactly sashimi. I won't be ordering from Red Ginger again, 50% off or not. It's a shame because they're very close by, but I'd rather not feel sick after spending $35 on a "half off" dinner. Not worth it. read more

We ordered red ginger to a bar on Colfax. It came in good time, but as we were eating the food we found something very interesting in our soy sauce. I am still very grossed out by it! Yes, it was either a cricket or moth. We both spit our food out right away. I called to talk to the manager and she said they would credit my next order I said , no I won't eat from there again. I mean would you? She said when the owner would be in later they would refund me. Well, it is three days later and they haven't so I called again today. A girl told me she wasn't a manager and that I could call back , but they never do refunds. Hmm!!!! I need some better customer service than that. read more

Red Ginger - Look closely I pulled this out of my soy sauce!!! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Cheapest sushi take out you will find in the city. Even with a $2 delivery charge you can get almost 3 rolls for the price of one at other spots around town. That being said, I think the statement "you get what you pay for" rings true here. I have ordered 3 rolls for $17 - with tip and they were all squished into one takeout container. Once I pulled out the pieces and laid them out pretty on a plate they looked much better. If you are mad because your take out looks less than appetizing try putting it on a plate. If you can handle such a laborious task of course. The quality? Not 5 star. The rolls are hit and miss, and their menu is so huge I always have a hard time remembering which ones I have been impressed with. - The Godzilla Roll is a winner. $6 for a pretty nicely sized spicy tuna/avo/crunch roll topped with eel and eel sauce. If I remember correctly all of the Specialty Uramaki Rolls are decently sized and at $5-7 will never break the bank. - The Take Maki rolls (Tall size) are by far the cheapest on the menu but don't be tricked. You end up with only 4-5 pieces. Ok if you are dining solo, not so ok if you were trying to impress a date with a legit sushi spread. The delivery is always friendly though. They have even delivered to my apartment in Uptown after they were technically closed. No complaints or questions. If i'm looking for a fancy night out I will go elsewhere, but if I am having a lazy night in it's not the worst option. read more

I have such mixed feelings on this place. The prices are really good for sushi that's just fine. I go here a fair amount and it always hits the spot. But the one thing that is most consistent of all is the shitty service from the person who I think is the owner. They have always had a "Now Hiring" sign up, since the first day I went a year or more ago. Their service is a fast changing group of worn-out looking servers. And this one woman is the worst--the owner, I think. She's yelled at me multiple times over the phone for not ordering correctly (if you mark your dishes by number on the menu, don't be a surprised dick if people order by number), and is super rude to her staff. Prices be damned, I'm going to have to find another sushi joint. I'm sick of mustering up the courage to call here/go here/order online (they regularly eff up the online orders), just for a box of mediocre, cheap sushi. I've had enough abuse. read more

The nicest thing I can say about this place is that the sushi was edible. We strictly had rolls, but each one was beyond bland, cut amateurish and poorly garnished. read more

Food quality here fluctuates pretty widely so it's a good thing the sushi is always 50% off and that they deliver (How can I resist being delivered sushi while in pajamas at home? I absolutely cannot.). It's mostly the prep or the off-sushi menu items that are in flux. The udon is too sweet. Their negimaki can be delicate and rich or saccharine and tough. The fish is nearly always surprisingly fresh (I'm thinking they have a quick turn around). That said, the sushi rice sucks and the rolling is amateur (I just love dipping a piece delicately and only slightly into the soy sauce and then watching with horror as 3/4 of the contents spill into the dark pool, becoming unsalvageable - nooooooo). For the freshest fish, avoid the spicy options (they use the scraps and chop it up with mayo and spice). The nigiri is actually pretty damn on point (often 'melt in your mouth'). Good service. Good mix of clientele. Good sushi. Can't complain for 'budget' (at least when dealing with sushi) dining. ($2 delivery charge.) read more

Not too long after I got my first full time job I have slowly developed a particular eating habit over the past several years. Let me break it down for you real quick: The first 5 days after I got paid: Oh this sushi boat for two looked AMAZING! And it's only $56!!! I wonder if they would give me the boat too if I order it to go? The remaining 25 days of the month: (at Illegal Pete's) Yeah..Hmm can you cut that Burrito in third please? it's gonna be lunch, dinner and maybe part breakfast. Thanks. But Red Ginger totally changed the game! I can have sushi for lunch (or dinner) and not be broke after?!?! How is this so ridiculously cheap? Now you may think the fish may not be fresh or they are skimming on the ingredients.. but NO! you get the full size sushi roll with sufficient amount of ingredients in it and I have not gotten sick once. Besides its affordability, Red Ginger offers generous portion size, lovely presentation, and a variety of sushi and entrees to choose from. I had tried several items from the regular and specialty roll menu and they are all above average IMO. Now if you want one of a kind, "treat yo self" for a special meal type of place you may want to keep looking, but if you just want something simple, delicious and satisfying, then you should definitely keep this place in mind. read more
