This is the only place in Denver I'll eat sushi. Mainly because the price. I can go there or get delivery (FOR FREE) and spend less than $20 and get absolutely stuffed with sushi. I have eaten there at least 7 or 8 times in the last 2 months and plan on continuing the routine. I don't know if it is because I'm a regular but I have never had a single problem with what I ordered or service. I think the sushi is absolutely amazing too! I love this place - I've never had a roll that tasted fishy (in a bad way I mean - like old fish) like some other sushi places around the Broadway area (Taki sushi I'm lookn' at you: using old fish in a California roll? A lot of the reviews here are completely unfair. This appears to be a family owned place that provides good quality fish at a very reasonable . They are not marketing themselves as a high-end or trendy establishment. Their approach is clearly about value and they do this well. Only suggestion would be to get rid of the 40% off on rolls. I really like this place. I am surprised by the low reviews others have given Red Ginger. I think that when some people see the low prices they think that it is "too good to be true". The food here is tasty and affordable. I have been here four times with my friends and we have never had a bad experience. Is it the absolute BEST sushi in town? No, of course not. But is it damn good for the price? Absolutely. Not only is the food good, but the restaurant is clean and nice-looking, and the staff is really friendly. Once on a Saturday night the owner was even encouraging us to do Sake Bombs. Of course, on other, less crazy times, we've also had nice quiet meals. I would definitely go here again. read more

Dang you Red Ginger, for sending me a mailer with 50% off all sushi, and offering free delivery... I have ordered from this place way too many times in the last two months. But it is good. For delivery... and for Denver sushi! It is really good! In fact I was really surprised! I thought immediately... ew. But I was wrong! Sushi never tastes as good when you bring it home, but when this sushi is delivered it is freshly made, and ready to eat. It tastes fresh... and if you order a warm sushi roll it will be serves warm and if you order hot food it will be surved hot. Plus! All the delivery drivers are soooo nice! (I work corporate for a retailer so we will see how long this actually goes on and/or if it is legit). So, here's the low-down on Red Ginger... If you are looking for the next Sushi Den, move along... if you'd like to keep your sushi tab under a hundy, you might be interested in this place. Their sushi is not bad by any means (be careful to not overlpad yourself on sushis that contained cream cheese... a lot of their sushis do, and cream cheese comas are the worst!). But, they are also not particularly high quality, so you might not want to venture out too much. However, in comparing their price to their quality, you cant beat the value! Tips: 1. They do half off their sushi all day erryday. 2. Buy two sushi rolls, get a soup or salad free. 3. King Roll is bomb! 4. They have 3 Jumbo roll options, all good but the first one on the list is my fave. 5. Red Ginger has some great rolls and some OK rolls. What makes me a fan is their prices, two rolls = free soup deal, green tea, and red ginger. Yep, their ginger is actually red. LOL I like it. This is my go to sushi spot, I have been here more than 10 times. The prices are seriously unmatched and very low. The food is also unmatched and incredibly tasty! I like to order the sweet potato roll currently for 3.50 as are many other rolls. I've not seen cheaper sushi anywhere. The shop is clean and very cute. The food comes to the table quickly and the waiters and waitresses are friendly. You can sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs making your food. They also offer mochi ice cream and Ramune Soda. I love this place and can't get enough! I love coming here with my children, the staff is always so kind and helpful. They are family friendly and have boosters and high chairs. I have 5 little ones all under 5 and the staff is always so patient and kind to my family every time we go in. Their food is amazing and on top of that you can't beat the price! You get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting large rolls or anything to write home about but I was expecting the sushi to taste somewhat good. It was very fishy and pasty and the rolls, while they were 8 pieces instead of 6, tiny in diameter so it was a lot of rice. We ordered the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and the shrimp tempura. I saw it sitting on the bar trip ready to be brought over for more than 5 minutes. While it was busy, there were 3 servers who walked by it and had nothing in there hands and didn't end up going to a table to do anything so I was pretty disappointed in the service. If the service had been lacking but the sushi good, I could have still given this 4 stars but wow the sushi was questionable to say the least. The spring rolls we ordered were crispy on the outside but mushy on the inside. Overall, I will not beg coming back. Being in the restaurant industry I understand how bad reviews effect businesses and I still couldn't help but start a Yelp account to try to save someone from terrible sushi. For the last week I have been working on a farm and eating really crappy food so my expectations were LOW heading into this meal. After taking a bite of tuna sushi I realized that I wasted $35 on fish that wouldn't make the cut on a KingSoopers sushi tray. I don't expect great sushi in Colorado but I do expect to be able to tell the difference between yellowtail and mackerel but my yellowtail tasted like horrible mackerel and my mackerel sushi (my favorite cut ever) was so gross I spit it out. The rolls were sliced into 7 different sizes and were so mushy that I couldn't finish them. This place is over priced for how extremely low quality the food was. Maybe put as much effort into the food as you did with your "Covid barrier" and it would be edible... I wish I could give them negative stars. read more

Now, I'm sure, if you were like me, this would raise some red flags in your mind. How's the quality (amazing), how's the portion sizes (normal), how's the service (fantastic). There has to be something that makes this too good to be true! Well, dreams do come true my friends because Red Ginger delivers at every turn. Located right on the corner of 6th and Broadway this little piece of Heaven has been a date night staple for the wife and I. The longest we've ever had to wait to be seated was about 15min, and the servers are always pleasant and attentive. The ambiance is casual, and every once and a while they'll have a football or soccer game on the TV. But all this is rubbish in comparison to the star of the show: the menu and prices. Wrap your mind around this: A Spider Roll: $6 Dragon Roll: $7.50 Spicy Tuna Roll: $3.50 Spicy Salmon Roll: $3.50 And the list goes on and on Now, with those prices you'd expect something like a King Soopers quality roll of sushi. This is not the case! It's legitimately delicious! Now, to all the pretentious sushi snobs of the world, please don't even come through the doors and be seated. Save yourself the time. Is this the best sushi I've ever had in my entire life, no. But, if the best sushi I've had is a 10/10, Red Ginger constantly (and I've been at least 7-8 times) delivers 8.99999/10 level sushi, day after day after day! You will not find a place that delivers better sushi, where you can walk out the door stuffed for $50 or under, ordering for 2 people. I dare you to find a place that even comes close. Actually, save yourself the time and defeat, it doesn't exist. Red Ginger will win, every time, hands down. As you can tell I'm passionate about this place. If they sold T-shirt's I'd buy one and wear it to work. For two years now, we've been looking. I was really way too excited when I got a menu in my mailbox from Red Ginger and saw the descriptions of the rolls. I hate to do this but after a week of contemplation I can't justify more than a two star rating. Really, I've experienced MUCH better so here we go: First, the Unagi is a joke. We're talking a flavorless slab of eel that is no bigger than a quarter. I'm a self appointed expert on Unagi. It should be slippery and full of flavor and it should leave your mouth in a state of bliss. Less than impressed with the serving here. Next, let's discuss the service which was fine if you like asking for a glass of water three times and then it arrives at the end of the meal. I wouldn't say we were ignored but we weren't attended to either. The employees were nice and I would still give them a star cuz I'm that kind of guy. The rest of the meal was the horrid "T" word - typical. Nothing stood out about this place other than the cheap prices. But hey, you get what you pay for so 1/2 price is a red flag that screams low quality. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible but you can get the same stuff elsewhere with a bigger bang for the buck. I decided to try out this place after several of my friends had said it was yummy and it was too late to cook. I really wish I had not. I will preface this review with the fact that I used to work at a fairly high end sushi restaurant and therefore I have pretty high standards for sushi. First I'll start with the rice, it was bland and the texture was completely off. For anyone that knows anything about quality sushi, you know it starts with the rice. When that is barely palatable it isn't a good sign. Then let's go to the fish, out of my trio of Salmon rolls (salmon avocado, salmon skin, and spicy salmon) I was only able down a couple pieces. The salmon skin which is usually one of my favorite rolls was inedible due to the fact it tasted rotten. The salmon avocado was OK but you could tell it wasn't very fresh. The spicy salmon was seriously gross (I blame myself on this one as I know spicy anything is the crappiest part of the fish). But seriously, it wasn't even good enough quality that I would have been willing to eat it cooked no less raw. I also ordered their namesake roll and the flavor profile was completely off balance. The eel was too sweet and there was waaaay too much cream cheese. I will give them that their shrimp tempura was delicious. Over all I will never get sushi from there again, but if you are really not picky about your sushi it is definitely a bargain. read more

The miso soup was ok, the seaweed salad was good and I got a nice bottle of sake. After driving past Red Ginger for months, one day I decided to see what Yelp had to say. I was impressed by the reviews and told my fiance that we'd have to try it soon. Just a few weeks later, we got a menu in our mailbox and sushi was still 50% off, so we figured we would give it a try. I almost wish we hadn't. We ordered scallop and tuna sashimi, the hunk roll, mango tango roll, honolulu roll, rainbow naruto roll, and the avocado, asparagus, cucumber roll. First things first: the sashimi. The scallop "sashimi" was not anything like we expected--it was diced and mixed with spicy sauce, served inside some type of a cucumber boat and topped with tobiko. It wasn't all that great, and after one bite each, we unfortunately decided it just wasn't worth it. Maybe they gave us the wrong thing? Unfortunately, we ordered delivery so couldn't ask. The receipt said scallop sashimi, though. Anyway, the tuna was a bit better...it was what we expected and it was decent...but it didn't taste fresh, at all. I was bummed because if the sashimi is the best they've got and it's not fresh, that means the fish in the rolls probably isn't all that fresh, either. Bummer. Hunk roll: mango, green lead lettuce, asparagus, and cucumber inside soy paper topped with kiwi, mango and kiwi sauce. This roll probably tasted the best (in my opinion), but it wasn't rolled tightly at all and was very difficult to eat. Also, my roll didn't have asparagus in it at all and although I thought it was topped with kiwi and mango, plus kiwi sauce, it was only topped with kiwi, plus a mango/kiwi sauce. The sauce was tasty but there was just a bit too much of it. Mango tango roll: eel, avocado, cucumber, bell pepper topped with mango and eel sauce. Fiance thought this was the best; not much to say about it, but the avocado added a nice touch and it was nicely rolled. Honolulu roll: spicy tuna, jalapeno, mango, and kiwi mango sauce. We ordered this without the jalapeno and it was still super spicy. It was yummy, but much more spicy than your typical "spicy tuna" would be. The mango cooled it down which was nice! Also, the tuna was chopped and mixed with the spicy (I presume mayo) sauce, so you couldn't actually taste it, just the spiciness. Rainbow naruto roll: tuna, salmon, white tuna, and red snapper, kaiware, and avocado wrapped in cucumber. The cucumber made the roll a little wet and harder to eat. We wished it was a little bit more like a traditional rainbow roll, but they have a traditional rainbow roll, so we probably should have just ordered that, instead :) The fish was...okay. Avocado, asparagus, cucumber roll: what it sounds like! Tasty, if not a bit bland, but then I guess that's probably to be expected anywhere. Overall, I'm caught between a 2 and a 3 star rating. The rolls without fish were great, the fish wasn't all that fresh, and the sashimi wasn't exactly sashimi. I won't be ordering from Red Ginger again, 50% off or not. It's a shame because they're very close by, but I'd rather not feel sick after spending $35 on a "half off" dinner. Not worth it. read more

Yes, it was either a cricket or moth. We both spit our food out right away. I called to talk to the manager and she said they would credit my next order I said , no I won't eat from there again. I mean would you? She said when the owner would be in later they would refund me. Well, it is three days later and they haven't so I called again today. Cheapest sushi take out you will find in the city. Even with a $2 delivery charge you can get almost 3 rolls for the price of one at other spots around town. That being said, I think the statement "you get what you pay for" rings true here. I have ordered 3 rolls for $17 - with tip and they were all squished into one takeout container. Once I pulled out the pieces and laid them out pretty on a plate they looked much better. If you are mad because your take out looks less than appetizing try putting it on a plate. If you can handle such a laborious task of course. The quality? Not 5 star. The rolls are hit and miss, and their menu is so huge I always have a hard time remembering which ones I have been impressed with. - The Godzilla Roll is a winner. $6 for a pretty nicely sized spicy tuna/avo/crunch roll topped with eel and eel sauce. If I remember correctly all of the Specialty Uramaki Rolls are decently sized and at $5-7 will never break the bank. - The Take Maki rolls (Tall size) are by far the cheapest on the menu but don't be tricked. You end up with only 4-5 pieces. Ok if you are dining solo, not so ok if you were trying to impress a date with a legit sushi spread. The delivery is always friendly though. They have even delivered to my apartment in Uptown after they were technically closed. No complaints or questions. If i'm looking for a fancy night out I will go elsewhere, but if I am having a lazy night in it's not the worst option. read more
