Amazing sushi and hot pot restaurant! I had never done hot pot before but I am in love now!! They have an amazing dinner for two special that's only $60! Soup, salad, hot pot and ice cream!!! I am not able to eat seaweed but they can substitute their sushi with soy wraps and they are so good! I get their salmon crunch roll and dream of it! There always seems to be space and the staff is friendly. Great for big groups if you make a reservation for hot pot!

I love the vibe and staff at this place. Their hot pot is good, but their happy hour is where it's at. Tons of izakaya and sushi options and yummy saketinis. Plus it's hard to find a happy hour that goes this late - til 630!!!

Absolutely stuffed! What a great meal! This was our 4th time here and the sukiyaki is amazing. You get a dipping egg on the side and it comes loaded with veggies. We always add some extra protein. Tonight we did the sirloin and shrimp combo but the rib eye is so good too! The ribeye is a little more tender because it's fattier than the sirloin which has more of a bite to it. The broth is sweet and flavorful. Highly recommend. Pretty decent happy hour too, we got lucky and caught the last 10 minutes of it! The shishitos were spicy but the seasoning was very good. The inori (tofu skins) were delicious, sweet and salty. The chicken karagge was good, I would only get it during happy hour though. The service is prompt and the waitstaff is very nice and attentive. 20% service fee included but we tipped on top of that too (tip your servers people) The restaurant itself is so cute! The decor feels traditional and modern at the same time. The bathroom is wallpapered with Japanese newspapers and advertisements which is pretty cool to look at. Stained glass and handmade art on the walls all over the restaurant. 10/10 highly recommend! We will be back for sure.

Such a cute, intimate space with delicious food. I've been twice & had excellent meals both times. It's street parking, but shouldn't be too hard to find a spot. I do recommend a reservation as the restaurant is small. I've been once for happy hour & apps. I started with the Love & Pain gin cocktail.... Amazing!! One of the best gin cocktails I've had! For happy hour we had edamame, krab sunomono, bronco roll, chicken karaage, hot tokoyo & a few other rolls. Everything was great!! I doubt there's anything on the menu that I wouldn't like. The second time we came we did the hot pot. We did the Shabu shabu with miso broth, ribeye, sirloin & shrimp, and pork. The steaks were my favorite - and I did not prefer the shrimp. The broth was amazing. The noodles were delicious. We had the best time cooking and eating. Can't wait to come back!

Grabbed dinner with a few friends on a snowy Denver evening. You have to get lucky with LoHi parking and fortunately I did, right across the street! We had reservations and got seated before the restaurant became super packed. I got a Kobe An sushi roll and the Ramen Slider. Both (as well as service) were just okay. We didn't even finish the food we got. Love the cozy vibes overall, though. I'm unimpressed by most sushi in Denver but willing to try everything!

Visited a few days ago with some friends. Overall, location was nice and clean (parking is an absolute headache fyi, just something to be aware of). Our server was very polite. A friend tried the ramen burger and had mixed thoughts. While the meat itself was good, the noodle buns were rather flavorless and unappealing. I asked him if he would order this again, and he said no. I didn't have one, but it definitely is visually interesting, so there's that. We shared a hot pot and it was pretty easy. Meat, veggies, and noodles come out, cook them in the broth, and enjoy. I did like that we had Individual sauce bowls, but I wished there was a station to create our own or customize it a little. Overall, good spot. Not my preference, but this is a cute little location and the food is good.

Blown away. I think this take the cake for the best place I have eaten in Denver. Everything is just so delicious and fun. Let's start from the top - we made a reservation for Friday night around 8:45pm, which I highly recommend doing. It's a small joint with only so many seats and these seats were filled from the moment we walked in to when we left (around 9:45pm). We were sat in the back corner next to the window, which to me was arguably the best seat in the house because you can see the whole restaurant and the street, plus it just felt more spacious. Our waitress was incredible. It was our first time having Shabu Shabu/Sukiyaki and she walked us through the entire process and was so laid back about everything. Seriously, this girl just oozed chill vibes. At the end of the meal she introduced us to the house shot which was just delicious, although I can't remember what it contained (sprint and plum, plus something else?). Back to main though - we started with hot sake and the El Shogun, both of which were delicious and I highly recommend. If you love ginger like I do, absolutely try the El Shogun. We then started off with the Miso Glazed Eggplant, which was so hearty my husband asked me what it was stuffed with, to which I replied nothing! It's just how meaty and delicious and perfectly cooked it was. The ramen slider with an egg is a must try. It was a bit smaller than expected but had big big flavor. Plus, it's so unique and fun - a memorable dish. We also added the Las Vegas roll to our appetizer spread, which I would have a lot to say about but we ate it so quickly it's hard to break down the flavors from memory :) This brings up to the main item - this sukiyaki and the American Wagyu Chuck. The beef dipped in the egg was like a delicate punch in the mouth. And explosion of umami. Something that will come up in my dreams anytime I go to bed hungry. While the beef was the star that's not to say the sukiyaki itself paled in comparison. The broth, noodles, and veggies cooked down to a delectable soup, which was so much food we had to take it Togo. Kobe An you rock. I can't wait to come back, thank you to the staff, the cooks, and the owners for one of the best dinners ever!

Immersive tatami atmosphere I went to Kobe An for dinner with my partner and we were thought the Japanese vibe was captured well. We arrived at 8 pm and did not have to wait as we had made a reservation online a few days in advance. The staff was really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere and environment were amazing, especially the option to request a table in a tatami room where you have to take off your shoes and sit on the ground. We will have to do that with friends or family soon. For the dishes, we ordered the teriyaki dinner bento which was great value for money as it came with tempura, miso, edamame, rice, and chicken. My partner ordered the Hot pot meal, which was more than enough for two people to share. Although the food was good, we didn't feel like the quality of meat for the hot pot was outstanding. However, the value for money was impressive, especially considering the immersive atmosphere and attentive service. In summary, Kobe An is a great option for anyone looking for good japanese and sizable portions

This is a great spot to enjoy a cozy dinner with friends. I only had shabu shabu, so I can't really give feedback on that part of the menu, but my friend liked the sushi she ordered. The ramen slider was super rich and filling, if you are not really hungry I would share that between friends. The shabu shabu was incredibly filling, but apparently some VERY hungry people order the "endless" or bottom less portion which I can not imagine. I ordered wagyu chuck. They give you a large portion of rolled up slightly frozen thin slices. The meat tasted like it was a quality cut. Definitely will return! Also our service was excellent. Cameron was great!

Second time here because we love it so much. I went last night with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary! This time we even got sushi but we were so hungry I forgot to even take a picture of it. We got the Hot Tokyo roll and my boyfriend claims that it was "the best sushi roll he's ever eaten". I thought it was very good too, however I've had some really good sushi it's hard to compare them all!! Great vibes in there with the dim lights as always, and the shabu shabu never disappoints. We got ribeye and wagyu and they are just melt in your mouth amazing. We will probably be frequent flyers in the winter when it gets cold for sure.

We are trying to support local businesses during the stay at home order and we were craving sushi. After browsing Yelp's Denver curbside and delivery collection we found Kobe An LoHi. They had great reviews and even offered free delivery in a .5 mile radius (bonus). They have their full sushi and izakaya menus available and Skuiyaki cook at home kits too - we will definitely be trying one of these next. First off, super thankful for the delivery option. It was fast and made it so we didn't have to worry about going out. We are so grateful during these weird times. Our driver contacted us when he arrived and it was a quick hand off. Thank you! We went with three rolls - the spider roll, the salmon avocado roll, and the spicy California roll. All of them were amazing. I especially loved the spider roll - the soft shell crab was unreal, and the cucumber/avocado/kaiware complimented the crab so well. All of the sushi was really tasty. We will definitely be ordering Kobe An LoHi again and we look forward to dining in once we can.

From the moment we sat down, it was clear that the service here operates at a different level. Our server was exceptionally well versed in the menu and sake pairings, explaining ingredients, preparation, and flavor profiles with confidence and genuine enthusiasm. You can tell the waitstaff is deeply trained to understand the food, beverages, and how everything works together. Their sake recommendations were spot‑on and elevated the meal even further. Every dish we ordered was executed beautifully. The miso eggplant was silky and deeply flavorful, perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. The miso black cod was rich, flaky, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, while the mixed seafood tempura was light, crisp, and impeccably fried without a hint of greasiness. Each appetizer showcased refined technique and restraint. The Colorado steak with truffled potatoes was another standout. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired beautifully with the earthy richness of the truffled potatoes, easily holding its own among the sushi offerings. The moment that truly made the night unforgettable was the Osaka‑style pressed sushi served aburi‑style. It quite literally changed my son's life and opened his love for sushi. We ended up ordering several more of these incredible bites of salmon, topped with mayo and lightly flame‑kissed, resting on perfectly seasoned sushi rice. The fish here is so clean, well cured, and expertly prepared that I strongly recommend ordering a side of fresh wasabi--it brightens and elevates the flavors even further. The lobster sushi and scallop sushi were also exceptionally fresh and delicious, reinforcing the level of care taken with their seafood. Dessert was the perfect finale. The green tea tiramisu was light, creamy, and indulgent without feeling heavy. To cap it off, our waiter brought us yuzu and lychee sorbets, which offered a refreshing, citrusy finish and showed thoughtful hospitality. As we were leaving, something small but meaningful stood out. All of the sushi chefs looked up, raised their heads together, and warmly thanked us with sincere goodbyes. It was a gracious, heartfelt gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we felt throughout the evening. We cannot wait to return.

We got a cute high top table by the window, their seating is comfortable, even the hightop chairs have backs. The drinks here are delicious, I got the lychee margarita and it was perfect, not too sweet and comes with a real lychee on a skewer, which is a lovely pairing. To eat, I got my favorite aburi tuna, which I always make sure to try if a place has them. It was so good, I love the seared flavor and the fish was so fresh, the texture was perfect. We also got the fried rice, it is served with the staff, mixing the yolk of an egg into the dish at the table in front of you. This made it so rich and delicious, and felt like a show. I was really impressed by the rice itself too, nothing simple about it. The flavors were so dynamic, and everything was cooked to perfection. We also had the black miso cod, this might have been the highlight dish. It was so tender and supple, melting at the touch of a fork and even better in your mouth. The flavors were unbelievable, and it leaves you wanting more. The area is pretty central to wash park, a quick five or 10 minute walk over to Broadway after dinner is easy and accessible too. Totally will be back

Having champagne waiting at the table was such a great touch and set the tone for the night. We went with a chef's choice experience and every course was thoughtful, creative, and incredibly well executed. The surprises throughout the meal and the complimentary dishes made it feel even more special. The wagyu on the hot stone was easily the best thing I have eaten in my 36 years. What really made the night unforgettable was the team. They gifted us a cookbook signed by everyone with a beautiful message, which meant a lot to us. This is a night we will be talking about for a very long time. Thank you to the entire Uchi team for such an incredible experience.

We had the somakase, and every dish seemed better than the last. The hama chili and walu walu were phenomenal. From the quality of the food to the overall experience, this was easily one of the best meals I've had in Denver. A must try for anyone who appreciates exceptional sushi, great service, and an experience that feels special from beginning to end.

If that doesn't raise expectations the service is on a whole other level with super knowledgeable staff as if they have been there for a while or even own the places. Its impressive! When you tie service and ambiance that leaves the food. Delicate and flavor forward dishes really play to all levels of the meal. Precisely cut pieces of fish and decorated with spices and sauces for an amazing meal! Highly recommended and an easy decision to return. Make your reservation and get that sushi in your belly!

The…read morefood is good, the ambiance is great, and the staff is kind when you interact with them. Unfortunately, both visits had the same issue: very long gaps between dishes. On my most recent visit, we waited nearly 50 minutes between courses and never received the remaining three dishes. We ended up asking for the check instead. What made it more frustrating was the lack of service. No one checked on us, and we had to flag down another staff member just to get the check. Our server never came by. It was also surprising because the restaurant wasn't busy. There were open bar seats and plenty of open tables, so I'd be nervous to see what the experience is like on a busy night. It's disappointing because the food is solid, but the pacing and service make it hard to come back.
