However, Active Pest Control acquired them several years ago, and the service has since been either adequate or disappointing. The quality of service largely depends on the technician assigned to your area. Hiring and training technicians for this job must be challenging, and I've encountered some who are highly efficient and those with poor attention to detail. It seems to be a matter of luck, or perhaps bad luck. Regardless, you're paying for their services, and their prices have continued to increase. They have a local phone number, but when you call, it doesn't reach a local office. Instead, it often rings at their home office or wherever someone is available to pick it up. This leads to miscommunication between their home office and the local office. Miscommunication or just no communication. The previous company would give us adequate notice before a technician was assigned to treat our home, but now you'll receive an automated phone call telling you they'll be there for the next day (!) so you should drop what you're doing and make sure you're at your home if you want to see them treat the interior as well as exterior. (They love to tell you that treating the exterior is enough... can't say that I buy that notion.) I've been hesitant to switch to another company because they often charge upfront fees, and I've been paying these dorks several years now and paid them an upfront fee at the beginning.

Our Technician's name is Derrick. Since using these guys, we have had zero issues in the home! This was after trying all manner of do-it-yourself chemistry with spotty results. We have 2 dogs, Cav. Spaniels... they use pet friendly chemicals in perimeter areas of rooms the dogs hang out in. Dogs do not even notice it was done. They notify ahead of planned visits and on day of visit I am emailed when they are enroute. Just excellent communication and results. Price is quite reasonable - well worth it to us and we're considering adding mosquito spraying in springtime. I see some negative reviews... all branches may not be created equal--big company. We maintained a moisture barrier contract with Orkin for 26 yrs, of which we have copies of…read morereceipts, and Orkin told us every year that our crawlspace was dry, and the moisture barrier in good condition. In January of 2020 we inadvertently discovered that our crawlspace was contaminated with toxic category 3 black water,including sewer worms and flies and a foul odor. Orkin had supposedly inspected the space just several weeks prior in October 2019 and gave us a written receipt saying the crawlspace was dry, intact and in good condition. We were forced to move out of our home for health reasons with our pet for 34 days while the space was remediated and made safe. Prior to moving out , a foul odor and masses of sewer flies were present in our home. An Orkin account manager came to the house and actually said he did not think the technician had actually gone into the crawlspace in 2019 and that the technician is no longer with the company. However, Orkin refuses to reimburse us fairly for this nightmare even after admitting their technician did not do his job and wrongfully provided us with a false receipt that all was in good condition. Public beware of an immoral , greedy and wealthy Orkin who refuses to do the honorable thing. It is big business taking advantage of the little man. We have filed a formal complaint with the BBB of Atlanta.
