I bought my dress in Costa Mesa, so when it came time for alterations, I decided to bring it closer to home (San Diego) to make my life easier before my wedding. I'm so glad I did, because then I found Ronda. She responded to my inquiry the same day I submitted it, and a couple weeks later, I had my first fitting. I didn't think much needed to be done to the dress, but then I put it on and realized I looked like 80's Madonna on the top thanks to the boning (something I'd missed when I bought the dress). Ronda was able to take portions of the boning out and leave some in so the girls were all freed up but my stomach was still under control. I did notice after the first alterations were done that my dress felt long, so we set a date for me to try on the dress again closer to the wedding that would work if I needed Ronda to make any other adjustments. She told me that the style of the dress I picked was intended to be floaty, and after looking at pictures of the models in it, I realized she was right--the dress was super long on all of them. When that day came, my dress was DEFINITELY too long and I panicked. I texted Ronda and she immediately responded with an appointment time that week to come in. I was so worried because my fiancé and I had a choreographed dance to do, and with the dress the length it was, there was no way I'd get through the dance. I seriously thought I'd chosen the wrong dress. When I walked into Ronda's studio the second time, she calmed me down right away and assured me we'd figure something else out. The dress would look too weird if we cut much more off the sides, so she added invisible pickups (clear buttons and clear fishing line/thread) on the sides so when it came time to dance, the sidestep would be clear. Honestly, I was so happy when I tried on the dress after the second round of changes that I cried. I doubt any normal alterations place would have been able to do half the amazing job that Ronda did while still maintaining the intended look of the dress. She listened to my concerns, considered the style of the dress, and came up with a creative solution that absolutely could not have been more perfect. The day of my wedding, I confidently pulled off the choreographed dance without any hiccups. I wanted to take some time an start my review for Rhonda and her amazing service. Let me start with saying my dress is not completed yet, and I will be updating my review once it is. But, her service has been extremely spectacular and it deserves to be highlighted. I had a wedding dress custom made. I was measured and I didn't mention anything about wanting to lose weight or go down in size. So it came to me as a shock when my dress was finished and it was way too small. The dress would not go passed my hips. I was in a panic and pretty devastated. I've heard of having to tailor a dress DOWN, but how do you add MORE dress!? I didn't even know if it could be fixed. I did research and after viewing several companies, I chose to go with Rhonda. My first call with her was just so comforting. She knew I was having an anxiety attack and knew exactly what to say. She stayed very calm and asked me to send her pictures. I did and she immediately returned my call saying my project was doable. I was so relieved. I took advantage of concierge service at home. It was extremely convenient. I recommend it. She brought me a small bottle of champagne which was delicious and so thoughtful. At first inspection, Rhonda knew that everything I needed would be achievable as she was looking at the construction of the dress. She walked me through her process as she examined the dress, telling me everything she was going to do. She had me try on the dress and we went through a very thorough checklist of things that needed to be done and added. She is a great guest to have in your home. Such a friendly personality and a professional who knows exactly what she's doing. The dress is currently in her possession and I'll be going to her shop for final fitting and to take home my dress. Her working time is extremely reasonable compared to most. When she left my home, I felt like my dress went into the right hands.
