Ken is always quick to reply and provides professional, trustworthy advice! Much appreciated!!!

Updating this review to state we're doing more work on the house where we had hired Red Carpet to redo the roof and we found rotting wood. They somehow missed the sil plate around the entire building. Fixing that at the time they did the roof would have saved us a ton of heartache. Check out the rot. read more

Red Carpet Remodeling - Windows Installation Near Me - Olney, Maryland

Ken and the Red Carpet remodeling team made the process for shopping for windows much easier than many other companies. We had received estimates from others and none had a better combination of quality and reasonable prices. We really appreciated the constant communication and updates and were thrilled with the end product! Our living room is now a peaceful comfortable place for our entire family. In all, we changed 12 of our windows with this company and they are all excellent. read more

Red Carpet Remodeling - Living room with 6 windows from Red Carpet Remodeling - Windows Installation Near Me - Olney, Maryland

We hired Red Carpet to redo our roof. It was that time, and we were hoping to hire someone local here in Maryland. Fortunately, we ran into RCR at our local farmer's market in Crofton. After a nice chat with their team (Jack & Angie) at the market, we set up an initial consultation to provide the free estimate. Jack and Angie were in great communication with us to not only set up the appointment, but to remind us of it the day before as well. Jack showed up in the time frame given, and he was in and out in about an hour after discussing our options and the pricing. We then scheduled the actual construction for when the weather was more cooperative. Their team showed up on time, and they finished installing the new roof well within the day they had promised (I think it was about 6 hours total). They left no trace of their work, and they cleaned up everything that they had done before they left. The new roof looks great! We couldn't have been happier with the service and product provided by the entire team. I'm very glad we kept it local and with a very friendly small business here in Maryland. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. P.S. Stop on by the market or wherever they might be vending to meet Denali, their adorable puppy! He should be their official mascot! read more

We enthusiastically recommend Red Carpet Remodeling. We have hired the company for two projects to date - replacing our windows and adding a new door and trim - and we couldn't be happier with the client service and the end result. Jack and Angie provided top notch client service in guiding us through design options and following up throughout the process to make sure things were on track. Our door and window trim was custom built and meticulously installed; the contractor was a true craftsman, and punctual and courteous to boot! This company truly cares about client serive and stands by their work. We will be back for future projects! read more

I was a total procrastinator about getting the roof replaced. From my initial meeting with Jack to Angie gently nudging me along I am so happy I chose this company. They never forgot about me and the financing, scheduling and on-site teams were seamless. New roof was installed right on time. Highly recommended! read more

We had a great experience with Red Carpet Remodeling from the first meeting for a quote to the end product. Ken was really informative and communicative throughout the process. The gentleman who came to install our backdoor were extremely professional as well and got the work done in less time than we expected. We plan to use them again in the future. Highly recommend their services. read more

I met the representative from Red Carpet at our local farmers market. I had done a little research on replacement windows. I was happy that the owner Ken came over for the demonstration. Very low key, no hard sell. The price for my 8 windows was less than expected. I even asked about a glass door for my front door. He told me the one I had was fine and unless I was planning to redo the entire entryway, it would not be worth replacing it. I was contacted for measurements. They arrived as expected and were able to do it with all my family members working and studying at home. The windows were ready several weeks early. I was going on vacation so they said it was no problem to hold them until we were ready and we set a date. The crew was professional and efficient. Everything was cleaned up when finished. So far we haven't noticed any issues. We had a great experience and would recommend them. read more

Highly recommend Red Carpet Remodeling for any exterior needs for your home. Their team was great to work with from the initial consultation with Ken (the owner) who explained about the doors they install and how the process would work. We had also gotten other estimates and this was the best experience by far! Not high pressure and this price only lasts until I leave BS. And their timing for getting the door installed at 6-8 weeks vs the other guys at 4-6 months. The installers were very careful to keep the entire area clean while they worked. They went above and beyond once we got the old door out and saw the water damage underneath the door frame. They were able to repair the damaged area and now we have an awesome new door with no air leaks! read more

The company was extremely efficient and professional throughout the entire purchasing, scheduling and installation process. Everyone came on time and as promised. Gene took control of everything, explained our options, measured and scheduled the install. The install team knew exactly what they were doing and managed to install 15 windows in a single day. We are very happy with the results and the new windows look great. read more

Red Carpet Remodeling replaced our roof in 2019! I didn't realize how much that would cost until I started getting bids and realized our roof was insanely big. If you're looking for the cheapest roof you should look elsewhere. To be clear RCR wasn't the highest bid. I had a bid that was double RCR's. Lower bidders offered to cut corners on material and workers. Ken remained firm that the only way they would do it was right. He was willing to negotiate but not willing to put subpar material on my roof or cut corners. Considering it protects the largest investment I have it didn't make sense to me to cut corners. The crew and staff were very respectful of our time and home. I see some bad reviews here from 2015/16 and unlike my experience entirely. It's possible they've replaced the humans that gave them a bad rap. The people I worked with knew what they were about and had a step by step process to bring our job to fruition. The material (shingle) was superb and the craftsman that did the job did good work. It's been 1 year since our roof was installed and we've had no problems. Not a single shingle or nail was found in our yard. With a dog and kids in my yard that means a lot. The roof installer (perhaps foreman) was very easy to work with. Clear instructions before and during the installation. I could tell he'd done this a zillion times and enjoyed working with Ken as he stated he was "able to put on the right roof, the right way". read more

What a wonderful company! Their customer service and the work that they did is excellent! The windows and siding they installed look so beautiful. We were able to choose colors and types of materials which was so nice. I highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking about remodeling their home. read more

The new roof looks fantastic. The whole process was excellent from start to finish. Working with Jack was always very smooth. He really went "above and beyond" to work with us and ensure that the process had no bumps and the final product was exactly what we wanted. Contact with the folks back at the office was good, and the install crew did one heck of a quality job. We are totally satisfied with everything. Thanks Red Carpet. read more

Great established quality local company. Estimate comes from the caring owner (Ken) who visits in person (or offers zoom call if anyone has concerns about meeting in person). Warm and helpful customer service from his FRIENDLY team (right hand team- nice ladies - quick to respond through w process) Not only do they do great roofing but if needed - also door, gutter replacement, windows and siding . Love the QUALITY family type businesses- we need to support more of those places! read more

I met Red Carpet at the Bethesda Market just when I was soliciting roofing quotes so I decided to toss them into the mix. Ken contacted me and we met in person to look over the job (rather large). He is a straightforward, very engaging, down-to-earth small business man who considers his clients like family with regard to how customer service should be conducted. He did not disappoint. Weather delayed the job a few weeks but he worked to get everything back on track ASAP. The crew showed up a did the entire 5000 sq. ft. in a day! (clean up the next). The cleanup was very thorough and attention was paid to protecting plants, trees, etc. Immediately following was the gutter installation, through Ken, and again, very professional and finished in a day. All in all, highly recommended ! read more

Highly recommend Red Carpet Remodeling. The entire process was easy and great. The owner did the initial consultation who explained everything in details yet easy to understand manners. Secondly, they assigned a team member to help guide me along the way from questions, concerns, installation schedule, etc. The crew that came out was professional, and super great. They are very easy to work with. I would definitely hire them again to get other work done. read more

We needed to replace our front door and Red Carpet Remodeling couldn't have made it easier. We were able to get an appointment one week from when we called. They came out and helped us find a door that suited our house's style, within our budget. They were very communicative about the status of our custom-door order. I never had to call for an update. They arrived 10 minutes early for the installation and did an excellent job. They took care to finish the work and clean up the space. I would absolutely recommend them for a front door replacement. read more

I can not recommend this vendor. I stumbled upon this business's booth during our local "night out" festivities. I agreed to meet and get an estimate and got a straightforward assessment of our home's current needs. We want to replace some old windows and our main entry door. Ken, the owner, advised against replacing siding claiming that it would look great with a simple washing. We received an estimate for the windows and door but, contrary to another review, we did get the ultimatum that the price was only good until he left. I explained that I simply wanted other estimates to compare at which point he assured me that he wasn't the lowest or highest priced but that he could assure me that his company provided the best value for the money. I refused a few more times but eventually wore down (against my better instincts) and allowed myself to be convinced that this family-owned business deserved a chance. That's where the positive experience ends. We were advised that measurements would be taken, supplies ordered, and that we could expect to wait until October/November for the work to be completed. All of that was acceptable as we weren't in a rush. The measurements were taken on schedule and that's where the first problem arose. Our estimate from Ken had counted one less window than was present within our sunroom. Bear in mind, it's a wide-open space in which we spent the majority of our time, both inside and out, discussing the products used by his company and the techniques that would allow them to restore our doorways without the need to replace the doors. This one easily avoidable mistake raised our estimate by nearly $1,300. Next, there was the entryway door. At the time of the consultation with Ken, we were promised that a professional designer would consult with us to finalize the style of door to be installed to ensure we were happy with it as well as ensuring it was appropriate for our home. What we received, instead, was a rendering from one of the staff that was handled in a manner I would assume an insurance company would handle it. We were provided a "rendering" of the door (which was simply a pdf of the door attached to an email) that contained a very basic door. When I explained that the door suggested didn't match the type of doors throughout our home, I was met with confusion and then falsely assured it was fine. When I did my own research (by surveying the other homes in our neighborhood and other doors from the same company), I learned that my concerns were justified and what I was being pressured to accept was completely inappropriate. To wrap this up, I requested my deposit back as it became obvious to me that my concerns were legitimate. After several repeated demands and finally advising that I would involve the MHIC, I finally received a full refund. read more

Great price and service, professional company with mom and pop feel, we had them replace our roof and could not be happier!

My rating at this time reflects my experience trying to get warranty work done. We contracted with Red Carpet Remodeling in 2011 to replace all the windows in our home. My contract says Lifetime / Transferable / Labor for Life Warranty. Last month I got a broken window so called to get it repaired. I have been calling so much in last three weeks the company recording the messages recognize me by voice!. And I still cant receive the common courtesy of a call back. I even sent email directly to the company and still no answer. read more

I was introduced to RCR at the Fairfax Fair. I am always on guard while speaking with folks at these events. However, there was zero pressure for a free quote for siding, shutters, gutters and a new garage door; all in need for our 1969 colonial. Ken, the owner, came to our house and was very diligent in his knowledge about products and competition. Again, zero pressure. He was very friendly and knew his business market very well. After several other interviews my family choose RCR because of their neighborhood impact, highly acclaimed reviews and price. RCR offered top-of-line siding and other products far below their competition's price point. On the magnitude of 10k. Before we signed the deal we met to go over terms and find a price point that would work with our budget. Outstanding! The installation, led by Steve, was flawless. The job site was always cleaned every day and the work was top-notch. No corners cut. Our house looks brand new now! Ken remained in the background and kept tabs on the project progression over several days. Again, outstanding job! I have dealt with numerous contractors etc and Ken and his crew take first place in customer service, product quality and installation timeline. We undoubtly recommend Ken's RCR for your home needs. I am thrilled with the results. Please do yourself a favor, contact RCR while conducting other interview. I am glad we did! read more

The owner met with us for the initial consultation and did a great job helping us select the perfect french doors. I'm updating my previous review. I was contacted by the owner of Red Carpet who formally apologized for the issues I experienced (and ultimately compelled me to write a negative review). It appears that the staff that I had issues with have been let go and the company hit the reset button. The reason I contacted them in the first place was because their work seemed to speak for itself. They work they displayed seemed well done and, frankly, I liked the people I spoke with at the Dulles Home Show. We're ready to move on and we truly hope things have really changed for the better. read more

Prompt, efficient, and nice workmanship on patio slider and windows and some trim.

Ken is very friendly and seems helpful in the beginning. However, after paying a $1000 deposit for an entry door on June 6th (close to 4 months ago), I still do not have a door Worse yet messages left on Ken's cell phone, as well as ones left on the Northern Virginia company answering service, have never been returned. I would be very leery of giving this company any money. I'm out $1000 and feel like I was taken! read more

I used them for my siding and I have nothing but great things to say about them. From the sales person, to the on site-manager Andy and his workers to Guy who oversaw the work . Very professional, reliable and friendly. They did a great job. After it was finished 2 of my outdoor lights (with sensors) did not work. Andy took care of it , came back twice, changed the lights and bought new sensors. I am very happy and would recommend them to anyone. My house and my 2 back buildings looks great. Having a 0% interest for 5 years was something that helped me decide to do it. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible. This company doesn't even get one star. Paid over 14k to have a patio installed. They have repaired my stairs now 3 times because they literally are falling apart. now they are refusing to take my calls. I have stairs that are falling apart, flowers, weeds and bushes growing through the stones. Yet the owner KENNETH LINDNER refuses to call me back. they do not answer their phones instead have an answering service they go through for screening. I even spoke to his wife however she promised someone would call back NOPE. now you call the MD number and it too goes to the answering service. It amazes me how a PERSON a company can take your home and decide not to stand behind their product and warranty. read more

i worked with RED CARPET REMODELING on replacing the roof on my home in Vienna, VA back in 2008. We are now (Nov 2013) in the process of selling our home and the inspector found a minor thing that needed attention (must have been from the hail storm we had). Anyway I reached out to the company owner Jack Kidder and he took care of it right away. It was nice that Red Carpet's service went beyond the original sale! read more

We used Red carpet remodeling about 5 -6 years ago, for 1 sliding glass door and about 40 windows replacement in our home. We did our home work and called a few contractors for pricing. It was pretty discouraging most of them using high pressure sales tactics except Red Carpet. Ken, the guy we delt with, was very profesional and responsive at all times. About 5 months after install our sliding latch was acting up , picked up the phone called and they sent some one out fairly quickly and solved the issue. Fast forward 5 years 2 kids later lots of opening and shutting windows -sliding door and all windows / latches work great! Highly recommend Ken and staff from Red Carpet. read more

Awful! We used them last summer to build a deck and the deck is literally falling apart. We had an inspector come over as we are about to put the house on the market and he said that we need a whole new deck. Do not use them. They do Awful work read more

Updated to three stars. I'm writing this to update that Ken has reached out to me to state that he has addressed the issue and that future customers won't have the same experience in the estimating process. I am writing this update only on the initial contact/estimation phases. read more

Total scam. 0% for one year on a remodel sounds good until you find out that they want to charge you $135,000.00 for about 40 grand worth of work, if that. They same windows they wanted to sell me for $1000, I bought from and building supply for 300 dollars. These windows were top of the line premium windows that you're not going to find at Lowe's or Home Depot or even many contractors. This company has many good products but the first sign that they over charge is when a salesman that works on commission is coming to your house! Be aware and educate yourself! read more

I am updating my review and giving Red Carpet an additional star. Not because the facts of my original review have changed but they did do a good job on the roofing and the poor quality work was due to the company they contracted with to deliver the shingles. read more

My rating at this time reflects my experience trying to get warranty work done. We contracted with Red Carpet Remodeling in 2011 to trim wrap all exposed wood on our home. After they'd completed the work, I noticed trim where the roof changes elevation was still tan painted wood and all the new trim was white anodized aluminum. RCR came out and "fixed" it and it looked fine, until now when a neighbor came over to tell me something was flapping on my roof. The trim had been covered with a white vinyl-coated metal and the vinyl was tearing and ripping off - I now have several pieces that have blown into my yard. RCR keeps saying they'll come out, but once I mentioned my contract says Lifetime / Transferable / Labor for Life Warranty, I no longer get called back. read more

I've experienced very similar issues with this company as others have posted. I'm absolutely disgusted! This is honestly the first review I've ever written about any company because I'm a very understanding person (I realize things happen), but I felt given the expense of building a deck, people should know about this company. - We met them at the Dulles Expo Home show along with many other deck builders (great, courteous) - After interviewing all of the deck builders, comparing quality and cost, we decided to move forward with Red Carpet Remodeling. They weren't the lowest priced option, but they were reasonable and proposed the best quality solution for what we wanted. (salesman was great) - Once the deck building started, we were happy with the individual construction man. He seemed knowledgeable, was honest with us as we worked through any decisions that needed to be made during the building process, and took extra steps to ensure we received a good quality product. - The only problem we had during deck building was they had an issue internally and I had to beg them to come finish our deck. Once they finally told me what was going on, I was understanding but I would appreciate some communication, not just disappearing. Now flash forward a few years... - The corner of our deck is an angled corner and it is falling apart - has completely separated from the rest of the deck. We do not have kids so nobody has sat on it, climbed on it, leaned on it - nothing. - For the past 2 weeks I have called Red Carpet Remodeling as our deck is still under warranty. NOTHING. Nobody returns my calls. The last time I called, I asked how repeating the same steps (leaving my phone #) was going to produce different results? I asked if there was a different phone number I could use. I'm told the office has no availability to talk. - Since the corner is completely detached from the deck, we were concerned with waiting too long to fix it so we started trying to figure out what we could do on our own. - After taking some measurements, we dug our paperwork out so we could confirm the color of the trex. After reviewing the paperwork and comparing our measurements, it looks like we were charged for larger boards but they used smaller ones!!! I'm so angry right now, I'm turning them into the BBB! read more

Service Turnaround! Seems so... Had a completely different / improved service performance on a recent (Oct. 11-29, 2015) fix under warranty. Quick response to my request for service. A much more professional lead person / contact who assessed the problem and set up the actual service. Plus personal contact and follow-ups by one of the owners. Good timely communications re. appointments. Really, like night and day compared to my last interaction. I would have gone to 5 Stars were this not the 3rd time 'fixes" have been required in a relatively short amount of time. Perhaps if a couple of years pass without additional product failures, I will return and bump up my rating again. Meanwhile, this change in responsiveness and professionalism has made dealing with Red Carpet 100% better. read more

Horrible service. they are in breach of contract. Will not contact me back to replace a faulty cracked window. I have called everyday of over a week. Per the contract, window and labor are covered by lifetime warranty. Will be contacting an attorney soon. I will update my review if they replace my window. ---- I am updating my review for Red Carpet Remodeling. The installation department finally contacted me after my reviews were submitted. They apologized for not contacting me back, apparently the answering service never sent them the messages that I was calling. I now have direct phone numbers to contact them in the future. I still have not spoken directly to anyone at Red Carpet but the installers have been great for the past few days following up with me in regards to replacing my window.
