TLDR: They cancelled on me the day of move in at 3pm (6 hours late already) so it was virtually impossible to find someone else to move me same day. My absolute worst moving nightmare came true, the day of move (already over 6 hours late from the originally agreed time) this moving company cancelled on me. I originally booked 04/20 for a move on 06/09 and was told they were available. Called a week out as well to confirm and was told all was fine. They were suppose to be at my place at 9am on 06/09. Then the day before I get a text that they are going to be late the next day and they would be there around 11am. OK, not a huge deal, I just had internet and furniture deliveries scheduled that afternoon so that's why I had booked in the morning to begin with. Then 06/09, the day of move, I text at 10:20am to ask if they would still be there around 11am and was told that it was going to be more like 3pm because they were short staffed. Pretty miffed, but it is what it is. Then at 3:18pm I get the message that they won't be showing up and they would need to "reschedule". ABSOLUTELY MY WORST NIGHTMARE to be in an apartment full of boxes and furniture with no truck rented after 3pm on the day I need to move trying to find a moving crew to take pity on me and come move me last minute. I'll also add I have a condition that I won't get into, but I have a lot of issues with my hands and feet and I just wasn't capable of moving it all on my own, especially with no equipment. If you knew or had the slightest inclination you should have told me as soon as possible so I could make other accommodations. You can't do this to people. I will also add that I made many phone calls to local movers trying to find someone to move me that day, and I was told this was not the first time they had heard off issues with this particular moving company. I will also add that I used this company a few years back for a move within my same complex, and other than showing up 1-2 hours earlier than the agreed upon time (cant remember if it was 1 or 2 hours) everything went fine, so this experience was very disappointing. Must having some management issues going on and I would recommend steering clear while they work it out. We recently used Red Carpet Moving for 2 separate moves. They were responsive, on time and very carefully wrapped everything. They did an amazing job of fitting everything in the truck to ship across the country and quickly moved the other furniture into their own truck and moved into the house. They also moved a piano without any issues, scratches, etc. We had 5 people there wrapping, packing and moving and they worked quickly and were very organized about it. We did have to add a person to the team in order to get it done on time and Elijah let me know about the additional cost prior to that day. We have now used this team for 3 moves and they have done a great job each time. We would highly recommend them. read more

The bad reputation of moving companies is not lost on this one! The owner's name is "Elijah." The estimate for our mom's one bedroom move to assisted living was $1100 plus $600 for packing her belongings in boxes. $1700 total. The actual move was about 12 miles away. Upon completion he charged us $3400, which is over $400 per hour for 8 hours. His only explanation was "I only gave an estimate...". The owner is completely untrustworthy, unapologetic for his mistakes, and unprofessional in his communication. For anyone reading this his company also covers Dallas TX. I hope the crew finds a better person to work for than this shameless thief. They are so much better than he will ever be as a human being. read more

BEWARE! ***AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!*** I have never posted something like this as I have been in some form of customer service for the last 15+ years and understand that everyone has their bad days. I just didn't feel right not warning others. From the day of my initial move my experience with this company has been nothing short of horrendous. From being scheduled to move at 9AM and them not showing up until almost 2PM to the broken furniture/disappearing movers/holes in walls/etc, I have truly never had a worse experience with a company. It got to the point I was nearly begging them to just get everything through the door and leave. Since then I have contacted ElLIJAH, the owner/operator, for weeks asking for a receipt so my company could reimburse me for the $600-700 I had unfortunately spent with him. After a few initial responses from ELIJAH with "I'll send it right over", I have yet to receive a simple receipt after WEEKS of DAILY calls/texts/emails. Every day. All I need is a receipt so I can be reimbursed for the mistake I made by hiring this company. At the point I don't care if it's scribbled with crayon on a napkin, I just need something. These guys had us packed & moved extremely fast! They wrapped all of our furniture & did a great job of moving it without any damage. Our furniture is very heavy & our home is a two story home. I have been debating about leaving this review but after the poor customer service I had I must leave it. So a week ago I had scheduled to move with Elijah and Red Carpet moving company because I used them before and they were Great. I ended up canceling because I found a cheaper company that ended up canceling on me. So I called Mr. Elijah at last minute on Saturday morning see if he still had that slot on Sunday. He said he could get me same day around 3pm..okay sounds great. 3pm, 315, 330 no one shows up. Finally get a call say its gone be about 630pm..Guys show up 650/7pm..4 guys so I'm thinking this will go fast...Fast Forward now its 2am me and my 4yr old daughter still have movers in our apartment and still have tvs and furniture at old apartment. Oh we moved from one 2bedroom apt to a 3 bedroom in SAME COMPLEX. One of guys damaged my door in new apartment, table still not put together, and they left my daughter's tv mounted on wall at old apartment. Call Elijah next day and he pretty much didn't do a damn thing about it. Would not recommend! Unresponsive and unprofessional owners. Wife is RUDE!! Not how a former US Marine should conduct business.** We used the Dorsey's company on a move from the DFW area to the East Texas area. After speaking with Elijah the owner, setting a moving date, and going over in detail everything we needed to move, they showed up with a truck too small. A U-Haul had to be rented to complete the job, taking much longer than planned and throwing us back a day on moving into our new home. Our furniture, mattresses, and large artwork pieces were not wrapped as clearly agreed upon. Mattresses were filthy from the truck, furniture was damaged as well as artwork, glass top to an antique cabinet was shattered. We contacted Mr. Dorsey about the damaged items and were told he would cut us a check just send him the receipts, he would take care of ordering the glass to be cut. After sending said receipts and being told the glass was ordered, he quit responding altogether to texts and calls. We called the other number listed on his website, his wife answers. Explained to her that we had been trying for a month to get a response on our damaged items. Come to find out, glass was never ordered and no check sent for other damages. She, like her husband, assured she would call back with answers. I had to continue calling and texting her for weeks. Each time she had a different excuse along with a rude demeanor. Elijah still would not respond at all! Two months after our move, having to replace the glass and frames myself, and after threatening legal action upon them, we received a check. They still have not addressed the sleep number bed they damaged. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. This is not how business should be conducted. People should not have to wait months to receive compensation for items that you damaged. We are a third generation Marine family, and that a fellow Marine would conduct himself this way is disheartening to say the least. Find another moving company! read more

Worst I've ever seen. Broke or scratched every piece of furniture they touched. Would not recommend to move a birdhouse. Lost pieces to furniture that I had to go and find. All I needed was 2 guys to help me move a one bedroom apartment out of the truck and into the house. The job would take 30 mins tops. They quoted me $350, which was ridiculous, but I accepted. After texting Jesse throughout the whole day and timing our arrival, we decided 5 pm was the best time. I called Jesse when the guys were over 30 minutes late, and he said they'd be there soon. My brother and I started unloading some stuff, and when they finally arrived, they were lethargic and stumbling like they were on drugs. One guy didn't even get out of his truck, he was just talking on his phone. So we offered them $200 if they would finish what we had already started. They had to call their boss but were taking so long and just being so ambivalent and unresponsive, that we fired them on the spot and had to call some friends over to help us finish. When I tried to contact Jesse to discuss what happened, he wouldn't answer my texts or phone calls, and we had been communicating all day. So unprofessional and rude. Late, high/drunk workers, poor communication, and from other posts, it looks like ghosting customers when there is an issue is a regular occurrence with this company. read more

By far the worst moving company ever Elijah dosent communicate effectively with his workers I asked for a job to be completed on a Friday after 5 after contacting him several times and not getting any answers I had to call the other number that was a 214 number only to find that his workers haven't left Tyler yet not only that my storage building closed at a specific time which he exsplained to me that he will be able to get it done before the storage building closed calls me back and said that his movers not gone be there until 715 that evening when they finally get there after waiting about 2 hours it only took them 38 mins to get my few things on the truck which he the. Tell me that it will be 310 before the whole moving starting I was like well I only have a few things so it's not gone take the full 2 hours so then then the guys get there I exsplain to them that since Elijah told me that he wasn't gone be able to make it on time that he can arrange to have my things bright back the following day so as I'm exsplaining to the movers that he advised me that he was going to bring it back the next day the movers said he didn't exsplain it too is that way and we only been here for 38 mins and 310 is a little steep when it only took us 38 mins to get here so I was advised not to pay until he got with the owner and they was gone bring it back in the morning the next day come and no sign from the movers so I get a text around 7pm of Elijah saying he was going to discard my things after that day I was like wait what that's not right so I called the same number he texted no answer so I had my mama called and got Elijah on the phone from the 214 number and he says the movers told him I wasn't paying which was never a discussion we had with the movers she just felt that 310 was too much to move a few things in 30 mins so then she goes to tel him which was his decision that he was going to bring my things back Saturday morning Elijah never called to verify all I got is a nasty text saying that he wasn't going to bring my things back till Sunday morning unless I pay him the 310 so we agreed was gone pay him and was gone pay the movers the day that they came that Friday but for him not to call and just text is very unprofessional and not only that Sunday morning turned into Sunday evening I just get a call as me and my family was headed out for lunch saying hey we the movers and we on our way with the storage I was like what I was advised I was going to get a call 30 mins before and didn't really inconvenient I will never ever use this company again they are a bunch of crooks that are trying to get over on people and when my things came back I was missing half of my stuff and my stuff was mixed in with someone else stuff I had to kept telling them that wasn't mines but bottom line is this company Is worst when I come to doing business my family moved from Houston to Dallas and didn't have to pay 310 and all I had was a one bedroom with a few items that'll if I would of saw the reviews before would of never used them read more

READ BEFORE YOU BOOK! Please stay away from this mover. The guys he sent to us back in September were very tired and moved very slowly. We had to help them move our stuff into the truck and out of it FOR THE LAST FOUR HOURS!! The guys kept talking and taking breaks and complaining about how much they have to work. The worst part is that they installed our dryer wrong and nearly FRIED THE ENTIRE HOUSE! Thank God that earlier that day we had installed a surge protector!! Needless to say, the surge protector needed to be changed. Our bill to fix their mistake was nearly $400!!! When I contacted the mover, he accused me of lying (even though I had pictures and a signed document from the electrician that the dryer was not properly installed -- which caused it to nearly fry the house). Then, he backpedaled and said that he would have to go through the insurance and assured us this would take a few months. Well, it's SIX months later and he stopped contacting us. After a Friday morning confirmation for an 8am Saturday move, I rec'd a text at 10:40pm Friday from Elijah stating "he just found out that he was down one truck" and wouldn't be able to get to me until 3pm but, I didn't see the text until 5am Saturday morning because we went to bed early for the move. Needless to say we were pissed off about this and at that point decided to just get a UHaul and do it ourselves. Thankfully UHaul had a truck available. Elijah never called or texted again. Personally, I think I should be able to charge him for the UHaul. We had already made arrangements for different things because we figured on being through by at least 1pm and because we hired movers we didn't ask for any help from friends/family. So....5am Saturday, no movers, no help! Thanks Elijah. I would not recommend this company. Spend the extra money on a better known company that keeps appointments. Please do not use this service! I was dismayed over and over during the day these "movers" were in my home. First, it is very obvious they all take advantage of getting paid by the hour. We had 90% of the items already packed, wrapped, protected, ready to move. It took them over 4 hours to make the first load to take to the new house. One man would carry one small rug, leaving his other hand free to stay on the phone. Thank goodness we weren't moving out of state or even different cities, because they left several items at my old house. Small pieces of bed frames, chair legs, all items that were already wrapped, next to all the bigger items they took. One young man had his earbuds in the whole time, when he was setting down a sectional couch he scraped the wood floor making a terrible sound. I had to yell at him to stop!!!!! and run over before he made a bigger mess. Movers should know how to move, or should know that wood floor scratches. I seriously am so disapointed, I can't believe these 3 men made money off me while I was heartbroken and anxious all day. Eventually my daughter and I started loading stuff onto the truck because the job would have never gotten done. Please please do not let your loved ones book these guys read more
