Both of our meals were dry and bland. Had to season it ourselves. Had to pay 88 cents for them to bring out lettuce and tomato for the burger that we had already asked for dressed with mayo when ordering. Took forever to bring said condiments out to us. I will never eat at this establishment again after getting raw chicken on a baked chicken special and seeing the owner of the restaurant shopping at the salvage store buying expired meat and other products, also have a very unprofessional women who plates the food who has no gloves on while touching the food and was sitting behind the counter while there was a line of people to the door. Went on a road trip. From Nola to Franklinton. No reason had just never been before. Not many local places to choose from so we chose the red brick. Outside looked promising with their bistro side walk tables. Walking in we weren't sure what to expect. Felt more like we were walking into a storage closet foyer of someone's home who was cleaning out closets. Entering the cafe portion was an experience unto itself. Cozy sofa. A couple of scattered tables and chairs. Not sure what vibe they were going for. Across the room open kitchen area. When I say open it is exactly what I mean. Shelves of stock and surplus stacked up with steam table items, in what I am sure was a reason. But the rhyme was totally unapparent. We weren't treated so we walked up to the counter where a polite young lady stood. I asked if we ordered at the counter or table and she said counter. No biggy. I asked for a menu she pointed to a chalk menu board. I was rather shocked by the dinner price menu. For a lunch style meal. We ordered two Ceasar chicken wrap two sweet teas -and a piece of cake. Over 35 dollars. Not including tip. I tipped the jar sitting prominently on the counter next to a big tan purse. She handed us the receipt and told us we could help ourselves to the drinks down the counter. We followed her finger and on the counter were styrofoam cups with ice already in them half melted. I politely asked for a fresh cup of ice so as not to water down my tea. So far so good no red flags here. She complied. She took a styrofoam foam cup. And scooped it into the ice bin. Big health violation. Sorry I know my fda food handler rules. This is a no no. My husband excused himself to check out the restroom. It was locked. We sat at a nice lil table by the window. Where the ketchup could be heated by the glaring sun. Nice sticky bottle that it was. Our food arrived. No napkins. No silverware. Just the food. My husband looked around for utensils and napkins but could find nothing by where the drinks were. We ate with our hands. My husband went to check the restroom. Still locked. As we were finishing the young lady brought our cake out. Two plastic forks. We asked for napkins. She replied they are over there in the bin on the shelf under the counter. Well hells bells why didn't I look and rummage Thru the supplies that were stacked there. Now I had already tipped her for doing nothing more then taking my money and delivering two plates. I would have thought she would have offered to retrieve some for us. But nope she went about her happy lil business. The food? It was a tortilla wrapped handful of lettuce and some grilled chicken. Nothing to write home about. The ambiance was clutter meets confusion. Black chandeliers. Bistro tables. Coffee shop vibe. Totally confusing. The real down fall was the blaring evangelical Christian rock. In the setting we were in it didn't fit. All the hard surfaces made it indistinguishable and unintelligible. It was just grating noise. But like I said we were on a road trip to somewhere we had never been for no reason. And now we have no reason to ever return. read more

Eh. It was okay. The restaurant could use a deep cleaning. Strange layout. The employees weren't very friendly or helpful. I wish I had tipped after the meal and not before. The served the food without napkins or silverware and forgot the drinks. However, you can get a wallet or purse with your meal. Merchandise is all over the place. read more

If I could rate service a negative I would this owner is so disrespectful & rude when speaking to customers because they didn't cook the fish properly. Selling raw fish is unethical and unacceptable. After the waitress said "oh that's not done" the owner walks over picks up the plate slams it down and says "I don't care who you are, that fish is done." Up until that point I was calm. Once she spoke to me in a condescending tone I all but lost my temper. How dare you treat paying customers this way! Because we don't look or speak a certain way you act this way. After reading several comments on a post made on Facebook about the incident I learned she's treated quite a few people this way. One mother commented that her daughter got food poisoning. Which I can see why her child got sick they sell raw food. Salmonella is real and dangerous. To blatantly blame a customer for not ordering a blackened fish well done is absurd. Hence the point of blackened. This is typical behavior of you're not a regular. If you don't look like a upper class you will be treated like trash if you complain. read more

Great little find here in Franklinton! Food was great...had breakfast...eggs, bacon, grits and wonderful pancakes! Owner and her family are charming. It's clean and respectful of Covid regulations. Had lunch also..blackened tuna salad was nice also. read more

Hands down THE BEST food in Franklinton! Their chef KNOWS what he's doing in the kitchen. He can make anything- and do it TOP NOTCH! My favorites from RB are the Cali chicken wrap, Cali chicken salad, jacked up shrimp, French fries... well, let's just say, everything I've ever eaten from here is AMAZING! I would HIGHLY recommend the Red Brick cafe to anyone in town. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are happy! read more

I love this place. I go there almost every day for a white mocha Frappuccino and it is so much better than Starbucks. Chris, the chef at this place is amazing. We have went for dinner on several occasions and he cooks me something special and makes me want to come back for more every time . The crabcakes are completely amazing and jacked up shrimp is mouthwatering. Can't say I've ever had anything that wasn't top-notch from this place. read more

The wife and I had lunch here yesterday. She had their hamburger and I had their grilled chicken po-boy, both fully dressed. The service was about what you would find in a small restaurant, adequate but not overly attentive. The staff are all very friendly and in small towns where everybody knows everybody else, you could hear conversations of a familiar tone. The food was good. My wife said the burger reminded her of an old establishment she used to go to in her high school days. Food memories are important. My grilled chicken poboy wasn't served on traditional French bread but on a roll which wasn't bad. The chicken breast was very thick, hard to get a bite on in the sandwich. And, it was dry. Chicken breasts are difficult to cook to a moist flavorful state and since they are a lean cut, it takes some experience to grill or sauté one to moist perfection. All things said, it wasn't too bad. They ran out of sweet tea and the usual condiments and seasonings usually found on Southern restaurant tables were missing. We had to ask for napkins and ketchup. We had a slice of berry cake and it was very good. Should we decide to return, I will definitely get the hamburger with cheese. The restaurant is respectably neat and clean but, if they are busy parking can be a challenge. Total for lunch, dessert and gratuity was $28.00 fit two. read more

Me and a buddy stopped here for breakfast I had gotten a three egg omelette and a glass of milk and the omelette was so good. While it wasn't a super fluffy omelette it was packed with plenty of filling and it was plenty filling. The staff here was very polite and easy going.
