This place never disappoints. I've only been here a few times cause I am from Cali, but I make it a point to stop here when I am in the area. This place has the best and biggest po boys I've had in Louisiana. It's the best value. I got the shrimp and oyster po boy and later I got a pound crayfish just because I had to try it before heading back home. It's one of those special hole in the wall places that I hope will last forever.

Best crawfish ever!! Thank you!

I found this place on Yelp. We were in the area after going to The Tulip Festival in Loranger. The Seafood Shack had a great rating so we decided to try it. Well let me tell you, they have the best boiled crawfish that I have ever had. We had crawfish, corn, potatoes, and then decided to try the fried shrimp and oysters because all the locals were eating this. We will definitely go back. The locals were so friendly.

The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean and gave a very laidback dining experience to me and my family. They were down to earth and friendly people. I can tell they love seafood and they love what they do!

Awesome food!! Worth the drive from McComb, MS to Amite! Super friendly staff. Orders were easily customizable. Anything to make you as a customer happy with the food you were about to eat they did! Such as BBQ on the gravy roast beef poboy - He said never heard of it but no problem doing it! I also purchased A fried catfish plate but wanted a side of the seafood sauce that went on the pasta to poor over my fish- yet again no problem!! And btw I highly recommend the sauce!! Even the people in line struck up convos about how great the food was! We will definitely be back!!!

Looks a little sketchy when you pull up, but inside it's clean, the staff is welcoming, and the food was delicious.

his is what a real Louisiana seafood place is supposed to be…read more There is nothing on this menu that isn't a hit. Not one weak link. That's rare. The catfish po-boys are the real deal -- actual catfish, perfectly seasoned, fried right, and served on real New Orleans French bread, not that grocery-store knockoff so many places try to pass off. Every bite tastes like someone in the kitchen actually cares. The boiled seafood is consistently spot-on, which tells you everything you need to know about the kitchen. Anyone who's ever peeled an over-soaked shrimp knows how unforgiving boiling seafood is -- timing matters. And they nail it every time. Shrimp peel clean, seasoning penetrates without overpowering, and nothing is waterlogged or mushy. This is a place that understands: Ingredients matter Technique matters Consistency matters No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just well-executed Louisiana food done the right way. If you want seafood you can trust -- this is it.

Not only was it busy but it was slammed and they say it's like this all day long. My foodie cohort and I ordered 5lbs of crawfish and the shrimp and catfish platter with fries and onion rings to split. The crawfish was the best I have had and Bob agreed. What a place to visit. The folks around us were kind and friendly and referring foods and places to go. Recommend you get here and prepare for a little waiting for seating unless you just want to grab a few lbs of crawdads, shrimps, crabs and so on to take home with you. Great service, awesome ambiance and amazing food.... Remember to support your local eateries so we both don't starve...

I recently met a gentleman from Lil Butcher Shoppe at my local Rouses who was cooking up smoked…read moresausages and handing out samples. I tried several different flavors and my favorites were the pineapple and jalapeno. They are now making their sausages available here and I picked up some right away. Lil Butcher Shoppe is located at 1910 Broadway Dr in Hattiesburg, MS, and has been proudly serving the Pine Belt region since 1991. This family-owned and operated "olde-fashioned" butcher shop offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality meats, local products, and excellent customer service. From its humble beginnings at Tip's gas station to its current thriving location, Lil Butcher Shoppe has become a beloved fixture in the community and now making their sausages products available in stores. Their history, brothers David Lawson and Steven Dyar founded Lil Butcher Shoppe over three decades ago, drawing inspiration from their family's history in the service industry. Prior to opening the butcher shop, David worked at Tip's, a gas station named after their mother, Christal "Tip" Lawson. The family managed the various locations from the years 1974-1990. David had worked in the family's gas station business his entire life, where he learned business management and customer service skills. After serving in the Navy, Steven Dyar began working at Carroll's Meat Shoppe, Patricia (Trish) Dyar's family butcher shop in Jacksonville, FL. This is where Steve learned the butcher trade and fell in love with Trish, whom he married. In 1990, the couple decided to move back to Mississippi. Lil Butcher Shoppe boasts a vast selection of fresh, hand-cut beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Customers can also request custom cuts to suit their preferences. In addition to high-quality meats, the shop offers a range of homemade items, such as: * Stuffed Potatoes (6 flavors) * Bratwursts * Boudin * Meatloaf * Smoked Chicken * Stuffed Porkchops * Stuffed Chicken * Gumbo * Mardi Gras Pasta Sauce * Casseroles * Stuffed Mushrooms & Peppers * Crawfish Pies The shop also stocks an assortment of cheeses, homemade jams, and various ready-to-bake dishes. With such a diverse array of offerings, Lil Butcher Shoppe truly caters to a wide range of tastes and culinary needs. I have already prepared a number of dishes for breakfast and dinner using several of these sausages and I'm a fan. The pineapple flavor is very good just grilled on a bun with a pineapple slaw and the jalapeno one is great with beans. I have more ideas and there's lots of ideas. Bottom line: Lil Butcher Shoppe has stood the test of time as a family-owned, community-oriented establishment in Hattiesburg, MS. Offering an extensive array of high-quality meats, homemade dishes, and local products, it remains a go-to destination for residents and visitors alike who appreciate quality and exceptional customer service.
