It is my understanding from talking with locals that this place started out as a BBQ trailer, moved onto this location and opened in a manufactured home with the big side porch, which has now been enclosed. This side porch can still be opened up when the weather is good, and climate controlled when it is not. There is a large graveled parking lot with designated handicapped parking places. That's the facility, but the main attraction is the food. The menu goes back to the original concept of BBQ. There are impressive ribs, smoked chicken wings, brisket, pulled pork, and the like. However, there's more than that. There's been some new features that have been added. One of these is the Clintonian Club. Yes this is a club sandwich, but it's served on a large flakey croissant! There's a number of options like this when one wants something other than BBQ. If you find yourself in Clinton, stop by Big J's. It's a great place to have a fresh local meal served by friendly and helpful folks.

Some appetizers we didn't even order were brought to our table. Our main course was then brought out last, after the larger groups had already received their food, and it was cold as well. There were two servers and two food runners, so it was difficult to understand how the service became so disorganized (need more staff.) We watched other parties who arrived 30-40 minutes after us receive their food before we did. What made the evening worthwhile was simply being able to spend quality time with our family and celebrate my birthday together. Otherwise, the experience would have been a complete disappointment. I thought is was maybe recently put in freezer. I guess my fault for buying something that was essentially expired and not completely frozen.
