I have heard only good things about Tucker's, and I follow their business page on Facebook so I…read morethought I would check it out. They have a window outside where they sell snow balls, we tried a peach flavor with "cream" which is really sweetened condensed milk. It was really good, but extremely sweet. It could have used about half of the syrup that was put on it. Next time! I'm sure we will be enjoying these as the weather warms up. When you walk inside they have a little freezer section with frozen seafood, a seating area so you can sit down and enjoy any hot food you purchase, and a case of raw fish. We decided to order the fried shrimp plate, and it was delicious. Best fried shrimp I've had. It came with hush puppies(not a fan), fries(perfect), garlic toast and I had the swamp sauce which is delicious. We also tried their boudin balls, we were not a fan of their version. They also sell hot boiled crawfish and shrimp which seems to be really popular. It's a little country store which seems to be run by family members, while we sat outside we could hear them hollering inside the building. The lady who took my order wasn't too friendly but she made some mean shrimp, the girl who made the snowballs was very nice and helpful as well. All in all we will be back! I can't wait to try the Zachary location as well.

Living on the West Coast, I avoided gas station food at all cost, it's a no go. Now that I live in…read morethe South, man some of the best food is at gas stations owned by mom and pops. There's always a small line at this gas stations deli, so you know they got the goods. These dude's sell fresh seafood, you can get it boiled/fried, or fresh. I always go by here on my way home from Louisiana. When I'm talking about a road trip snack, I'm not talking about slim Jim's, day old burger, or chips. I'm talking crab legs, shrimp, crawfish pies, fresh fried juicy catfish! Boiled shrimp was cooked perfectly, wasn't overcooked swimming in that seasoning. They were frying shrimp and catfish when I walked in. $10 for a box of 5 catfish filets, and 10 jumbo shrimp, it was nice and crispy, needed a tad more seasoning, but great price! Catfish was big, and it was flaky juicy goodness. Giant Turkey wing for $2.49 so why not? Add that to my cart I wasn't a huge fan of it, but it wasn't bad. This is my snack before dinner 1 crawfish meat pie 1/2lb boiled shrimp 5 fried catfish filet 10 jumbo fried fish 1 giant turkey wing's a little under $20 after tax.

This is a huge gas station store and "restaurant" (it has two booths). The seafood looked and smelled delicious (and my husband is cajun so we are picky about good boil). We were super tempted to eat but it was only like 10am so we weren't ready for lunch. The store was clean and well stocked. Bathrooms were very run down and beat up, but they were clean and had toilet paper (though only one soap dispenser and it was out). Definitely the best stop within 30 miles either way. It's attached to a Chevron and I have no idea how the tired-looking Texaco will survive if ppl want anything more than gas. They just can't compete.

his is what a real Louisiana seafood place is supposed to be…read more There is nothing on this menu that isn't a hit. Not one weak link. That's rare. The catfish po-boys are the real deal -- actual catfish, perfectly seasoned, fried right, and served on real New Orleans French bread, not that grocery-store knockoff so many places try to pass off. Every bite tastes like someone in the kitchen actually cares. The boiled seafood is consistently spot-on, which tells you everything you need to know about the kitchen. Anyone who's ever peeled an over-soaked shrimp knows how unforgiving boiling seafood is -- timing matters. And they nail it every time. Shrimp peel clean, seasoning penetrates without overpowering, and nothing is waterlogged or mushy. This is a place that understands: Ingredients matter Technique matters Consistency matters No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just well-executed Louisiana food done the right way. If you want seafood you can trust -- this is it.

This place also serves up a limited Cajun Menu which had outstanding food from what I could see...we stopped for fresh seafood to take home. The prices can't be beat by any change grocery store!! We picked up 15lbs of 16-20 shrimp, frozen red fish slabs, boil seasoning, 4 blue crabs (medium and large), French bread loaf, corn, Cajun pickles and some dipping sauces. This place is busy and looks to be chaos but it's far from that...you can get fresh seafood, supplies, drinks, and just about anything you need for a boil. The staff even gave us ice to pack up our purchases to take north. Really enjoyed the time in the line to visit with other customers and take in the place. The ambiance is like a store/restaurant/market where everything is for sale! Didn't take any pictures but when you walk in the door you know you are in a hometown place where people know each other!! Go check them out when you are traveling through Hammond.
