Guys, it was THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'D EVER HAD. It was lava hot, juicy, and greasy. It was also absolutely delicious. I was concerned that the thigh meat was going to taste different. But I could not tell. The fries were crinkle cut, but were seasoned well. Didn't even need ketchup for them. The place is very clean and they had 80s music playing in the background, my favorite decade of music. Not surprising, being an 80s kid. The damage all told, including a tip, was $25. Is it expensive? Yes. Is the quality and quantity of the food commensurate to the price? Also yes. Is it worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY YES. I was also informed there's a Hammond location. I will definitely bring my family there, as it's closer, to try them out as well.

We went to the restaurant in New Orleans (Metairie). It is off Veterans Blvd. It is on the right side as you are driving east. Please be on the lookout. Otherwise, you might pass it by. Tends to spring up and drive by. We almost missed it. This is a fantastic location! Kinda tight and almost missed it. Parking is very limited. If you get discouraged you cannot find a good parking spot. I believe you may park on back street? Do not hold me to that. Worst case, you can always get your order to go. It was our first time. We were curious about and not many restaurants offer fresh made pork cracklings. Usually you have to buy it at a local market or know someone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They briefly went over a few recommendations. We started with of course, order of adobo fresh pork cracklings. Adobo or traditional** crispy pork belly, adobo sauce, topped with garlic peanut rub Southerns Queso burger - 6 oz. beef patty*, pickled jalapeño, queso, beer battered onion ring with order of fries. Tender meal - Choose your spice level. 3 jumbo chicken tenders, fries, and tender sauce. (Mild) Southerns Original Chicken Sandwich - Choose your spice level. Boneless chicken thigh, Yuzu aioli, slaw, housemade pickle. (Mild) I was curious about the Phuket Sauce. So I got an order too. This tastes great! Not spicy at all. Do not let the pepper fool you. It has a little kick but not spicy at all. All are well seasoned. Few of them you can choose your spice level. We all washed down with fountain drinks. They do offer catering services and possibly call ahead ordering. Please reach out to them for options. If you are in the mood for something different but great food. Give them a try if in the area.

I've heard a lot about this place in my Louisiana hometown for years. During every Mardi Gras…read moreseason, they became popular for their homemade king cakes. Also, they serve up breakfast and lunch. I actually ate one of their breakfast plates last year when I was here for Christmas and enjoyed it. During my recent visit for the week, I decided to order from them. Let's see how the visits turned out. For takeout orders, you can call since they don't have a website. No major issue there. And your order will be ready in less than 10 minutes. Definitely not bad. Also, you have the option to do drive-thru service or walk-in. Inside, they have tables, flatscreen TV's and have a desert selection at the counter. For all my selections, I ordered a breakfast plate which consisted of grits, protein (sausage patties for me), scrambled eggs and biscuit or toast. All for $10. Homecooked and really good. And a welcoming staff when you enter the building or drive-thru. Can't beat that. I am so thankful this place is in my hometown. Local spots are where you can get a homecooked meal compared to home. This will be a go-to for yours truly the next time I come into town. Till next time :)

Got there and was instantly let down cuz on Sundays, all you can get is some donuts (which were pretty good glazed donuts) or eat off the buffet bar. This time I…read moredecided to try something different and go for the seafood combo plate and unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. Upon arrival I was never acknowledged by the cashier which started the conversation with " what would you like to order?" Rather than some sort of a warm welcome, that those around the town have been accustomed to. Since this was after lunch, the ambience was pretty laid-back and there really wasn't anyone in the lobby area. So there was a lady in the lobby sweeping the floor. I really do appreciate the cleanliness of the place. When I ordered the seafood combo plate, I asked what I could get with it. The cashier proceeded to give me various types of combos and I chose to get the shrimp and oysters. I ask her about the size of the shrimp, and she proceeded to go into a freezer and pull out a bag of popcorn shrimp and another bag of oysters. This was highly disappointing. Being in southern Louisiana, which is known for its nice size shrimp, crabs, and other seafood. I thought I'd be getting some fresh batter fried shrimp and oysters. Instead, I ended up with some frozen rubbery shrimp and semi burnt oysters. What a disappointment this was! The french fries were also overcooked and quite rubbery which didn't help this experience. This goes to show you that although Glyn's driving is a good place to go to for hamburgers, seafood definitely is NOT one of their specialties. I also think it's pretty overpriced for what I received considered this is southern Louisiana. I paid approximately $14.00 for 6 popcorn shrimp and 6 oysters with French fries which were all out of a freezer bag. What happened to Glynn's quality of seafood? This place used to be the talk of the town as a part of the place to eat for seafood and hamburgers. Now I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one complaining about the quality of food I received. Especially the seafood. I would only recommend going here for the shakes, as well as the different variety of hamburgers. But by all means a highly encourage you to stay away from their overly priced misrepresentation of Louisiana seafood.
