Always the best steak and seafood. The owner is the nicest man you'll meet and steak is always cooked to perfection

Bbq chicken, beans, potato salad, and roll.

Great and friendly service. Recommended by a local resident. Food is good, although there was a bit to be desired with the chicken which was a tad dry. It was 48 minutes from close, so I get it. But it's a decent to-go lunch and I would do it again if ever I was in the area. Beans packed a serious punch of great flavor. Potato salad was likewise enjoyable.

Well. It is a small town cafe. Family run, from what I could gather from conversation. Service was friendly enough. We sat next to the. At window so I could keep an eye on my trailer, which was loaded with lumber. I got a egg sandwich and she got the omelet. My fried egg sandwich , well , too simply made? I expected more than what I got, it almost seemed as if I stole a little kid's snack. Her omelet was thick and looked really good, that is, until you cut into it and find a bladder full of nothing but cheese and more cheese. So much cheese my goatee grew before we left. The pied piper would of used this that fateful night. I'm not a local here, so the chances that I would stop back in here is pretty slim. Ohhh, I forgot about the tiny hole in the window sill that had a line of ants going in and out. Quite entertaining to watch!!

LOVE the atmosphere of The Cafe. Great southern hospitality from Peggy, my waitress and just a great small town feeling. When the food came, WOW, was it great. I would recommend this place far and wide

The service was very slow and waited over an hour for our food, then it was not that great!!! I was not impressed at all. Will not go back.

Delicious food. Nice staff. Service was a little slow, but if you have the time, I would definitely recommend. Great experience overall.

I do think the egg sandwich needs a cheese on there to hold it all together but I'm sure they'd add it for you.

I went to this restaurant based on the high reviews from this site as well as other sites that sang…read morethe praises of this restaurant. I drove well over two hours JUST TO GET THERE and once we were there we had to wait until they had enough people to seat a whole table, no problem there. Once we sat and we got to look at the food I was immediately disappointed. A good portion of the items on the table were canned vegetables, black eyed peas, lima beans, green beans, beets, and some sort of canned corn salad. Everything was served in hard plastic bowls that rotated on a dais and was constantly being refreshed/reheated by wait staff. Many of the reviews I read expressed a grand fondness for the fried eggplant. I wasn't so sure about that not a big fan to begin with, but this was also disappointing, crispy on one side, soggy on the other and the sponginess of the eggplant itself was not appealing. There was however, one exceptionally good item on the table that saved this from being a complete and total waste of time. The fried chicken was absolutely outstanding, and I would opt to go back just for that but ONLY if I was in town for something else. There was also an assortment of "desserts" if that is what you can call them. There was a brownie/flourless chocolate cake abomination, some canned banana pudding concoction, there may have been bread pudding, I am not sure, and a slice of pie that disappeared as soon as it was on the dais, it never made its way to me before it was gone. The concept is actually quite unique and the experience was delightful, however the execution falls way short regarding the food. I would love to recommend the restaurant but it you are an adventurous eater, I would tell you to pass on this one as it is not worth getting up early, leaving two hours before the restaurant opens to get there during their paltry hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then having to drive back home with regret and your dinner sitting in your gut like a stone.

It truly feels like you just walked off the beach and straight into a laid-back island restaurant. The food? Unreal. So good I completely forgot to snap a pic of the shrimp and grits--they were THAT good. And the biscuit... wow. It tasted like something your great-grandmother would've had sitting on the table all day, warm and perfect. Coffee was spot on too (especially with a splash of Bailey's ), and the spuds were seriously mouthwatering. Add in the great music and chill vibe, and it's just a cool little spot you'll want to keep coming back to. Highly recommend!!

Liz's exterior appears a little downtrodden and parking a bit limited, but inside is welcoming with a bright and shiny Louisiana ambiance. We had excellent service and Liz herself dropped by and welcomed us. We ordered a variety of specialties, with me enjoying an egg scrambler with all the trimmings, my wife having a sumptuous roast beef po'boy and my son having a burger and fries. All were very good and our iced tea glasses were never allowed to be empty. We were seated immediately, but business is brisk and you may need to be prepared to wait at peak times. We look forward to returning!
