A good portion of the items on the table were canned vegetables, black eyed peas, lima beans, green beans, beets, and some sort of canned corn salad. Everything was served in hard plastic bowls that rotated on a dais and was constantly being refreshed/reheated by wait staff. Many of the reviews I read expressed a grand fondness for the fried eggplant. I wasn't so sure about that not a big fan to begin with, but this was also disappointing, crispy on one side, soggy on the other and the sponginess of the eggplant itself was not appealing. There was however, one exceptionally good item on the table that saved this from being a complete and total waste of time. The fried chicken was absolutely outstanding, and I would opt to go back just for that but ONLY if I was in town for something else. There was also an assortment of "desserts" if that is what you can call them. There was a brownie/flourless chocolate cake abomination, some canned banana pudding concoction, there may have been bread pudding, I am not sure, and a slice of pie that disappeared as soon as it was on the dais, it never made its way to me before it was gone. The concept is actually quite unique and the experience was delightful, however the execution falls way short regarding the food.
