Grew up eating at Hart's bbq, haven't had it in some time, but finally had a rib plate and pulled pork sandwich for the first time in a while, and man it is still just as delicious as it has always been. The service was amazing, quick and so friendly, I love how it still has its small town charm that I grew up with. Definitely will be going back soon. read more

Harts food is always great! Unless you have plenty of time, it is best to call your order in ahead of time. Yes, they are that busy! With good reason. read more

Excellent food. Great service. The best barbecue around. It is well worth the drive to get it.

After reading all the great reviews we decided to take a drive to try out Hart's. We are so glad we did. The food was amazing. We had fried green beans for an appetizer and then the brisket plate with sides of loaded baked potato salad, green beans, fried okra. It was so tender and flavorful. Every item we had was really really great. Also the staff was so caring and did a great job. We loved them. There is a very small dining room inside 5 or 6 tables but there's also a front porch with tables too. We live 40 miles away but it was well worth our drive. We will be back. It was such a good Dining experience. Go give Hart's a try. I think you'll enjoy the food a lot. read more

It's about 2 miles from I55. An out of the way BBQ place. At first it didn't look like much, but the ladies are extremely friendly. They make you feel like family. Decor is cute and clean. Bathroom is clean and tidy. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches and fried mushrooms. Worth the stop. read more

Harts is small, but don't be fooled, the menu is huge! Awesome BBQ. The loaded pulled pork potato is a must try item. But be warned, take a look at the menu I uploaded before going in because the ladies at the counter don't mess around. It's worth a stop when in Kentwood. read more

I stopped here for the first time today. I haven't dived into the full menu yet, but looking at it I see there are a lot of choices for such a cool little place. I got a large pork sandwich for lunch. I could tell the pork was nice and slow cooked from how tender it was and the sauce was in between that nice balance of being tangy and sweet. I look forward to coming back soon and shifting towards more dinner items on the menu. read more

Hart's Bar-B-Que - Barbeque Near Me - Kentwood, Louisiana

I had driven north from New Orleans to visit the Kentwood Museum, seen it, gone to the flea market in town to do some shopping and was hungry, on the verge of hangry. Gail from the flea market (https://www.yelp.com/biz/paris-flea-market-kentwood) suggested the brisket from here, saying things were wonderful here. Well she wasn't wrong. This is a small restaurant on the side of 51. There is more outdoor seating than there is indoor seating. You go to the counter and order (where they also have some amazing little gifts or items for yourself). The staff are all very friendly. All of the food looked wonderful on the menu and on the plates of the other customers. I did get the brisket with the fried pickles and the corn bites. It came with toast. Oh. My. Goodness. This was wonderful. The best meal I have had in a restaurant in a long time. And all under $20! I am so glad I stopped in. Come in, you won't regret it! read more

Great tasting BBQ like very few places that I know of. Very reasonable prices too. I can't wait to get more

OMG what can I say but YUM! Amazing ribs tender fall off the bone and succulent. Great sauces as well. Beans and coleslaw were equally as good! A must stop if you are driving by and enjoy BBQ. Don't miss this place! read more

Great bbq! Not a lot of seating so hitting this place later in the afternoon or use the drive thru. Had the ribs and they where amazing!

Well they don't answer the phone so you can't place an order.... it seems like they get annoyed and just take the phone off the hook or something. You call and no answer. You wait a couple minutes and call again and no answer. Wait a minute and call and you get a busy signal. How does a 21st century business not have call waiting or automated call hold or something? Pretty sad. There's no way the owner knows his/her workers ignore customers trying to place an order. But thats been Harts' reputation lately and my experience the past 3 times. The people I've told have also experienced this. ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!!! read more

Great, little hometown joint. Has been a staple in Kentwood for years and years. All their food is delicious. Some of my favorite dishes they serve are: club sandwich, brisket salad, and the brisket plate. They also serve Maude's cheesecake, which is delicious! You gotta get the cheesecake quick though, they usually sell out. Great place to dine in or take home for dinner! read more

On a road trip from Texas to Mississippi we discovered this BBQ spot. Do NOT be fooled by the unpretentious facade because if you pass this place you will be losing out. We had the chicken special and it was yummy!! read more

Sometimes the food is good, sometimes not so much. The prices can be a little ridiculous. I use to LOVE the fried pickles, but they're always too greasy & fried too hard now. read more

While visiting the area, we (two couples) decided we were hungry for BBQ, so we chose to eat at Hart's BBQ in Kentwood. The place was rather small, but we were pleasantly surprised that there was plenty of room for everyone there. There is also a quaint front porch with tables where you can eat outside. As for the food, I can truly say that it was all good. We each had a different entree. The brisket was tender and delicious, and everything else was fabulous. we all agreed this was the "best kept secret" around....it truly deserves the highest rating! read more
