Yelp fam, I owe you again. I've lived in SL for over 15 years and I finally, finally tried Red Apple Pizza thanks to your reviews. I'm sold. It's Meatless Monday during one of the most hectic weeks of an educator's work year and I wasn't able to prepare dinner ahead of time. Two cheese personal pizzas for under $7? Tasty crust, good sauce, lots of warm cheese, freshly made and ready in 10 minutes. The spot is no-frills in a skinny little strip of a strip mall off Washington. Parking can be a bear during the day but late evening was no problem. The front window advertises the lunch special which is one topping personal pan pizza with salad; I wil be back during winter break to check that out. read more

I saw the decent reviews and thought we'd give this place a try. We ordered the half combo, half veggie extra large pizza with a side of BBQ chicken wings. The pizza was pretty good but nothing spectacular or special stood out about it. What was really disappointing were the wings. Every piece of chicken was burnt to a black crisp and was pretty much inedible. Too bad, my friends were looking forward to it. My advice - stick with the pizza. read more

Read the reviews about how good the pizza is here. Decided to drive over since I was coming up this way. Website says it opens at 11am. I get here at 11:40 am and the place is super closed. Walk up to the window to see if there is a sign that gives business hours and there is nothing there either. As I am typing this, someone comes in to open up the store. It's 11:53 am. I ask about the hours and he told me they open around noonish. I let him know that he may need to update his yelp page. He was nice and told me to get a free drink while I waited. The food smells great and the lunch special is $6 for a slice and salad. Overall it's a great deal, just the hours need to be clear. read more

2.5 stars for the pizza, an extra 1/2 because I'm a huge fan of First-gen immigrant family businesses and want them to make it. But the pizza. Yeah. Crust was good, toppings were ok but it was so greasy it soaked out of the bottom of the box and every slice was literally soggy. I could only eat 3 and I can usually demolish an entire medium myself in one go. Maybe I'll try again and ask them to go super light on the cheese because the crust was pretty good and they seem really nice. read more

Just got a pizza here for my kids cheese white sauce and my lil girl came up to me and told me Dad I think somthing is wrong with this. I took a bite and it tasted moldy. By far the best pizza I've had in a long time. I noticed that they layer meat on the sauce, then add cheese and more toppings! I get it with extra red sauce and the wings are bomb too. OMG, this place is awesome! 1. The pizza was off the charts yummy. I'm not a crust person, but damn, did the crust taste good. 2. Free delivery which is nice when you don't want to miss any action during the NCAA basketball tourney. 3. Your pizza is done in 20 minutes from the time you order it. 4. The owner is super nice and didn't charge me extra for my additional topping and side of blue cheese dressing. 5. They are open LATE. 6. Daily lunch specials are good every day of the week. You get your own personal 2-topping pizza and a side salad for $4.99. What a deal! I mean, living in the city, you only get a slice for that much. 7. My 7 lb. dog can eat his own body weight in this pizza...it's just that good (he actually ate about 2 slices). There is no other pizza place that I'll order from ever again when I'm in San Leandro. Well it is what it is. Quick and edible. Ive been searching for real pizzain the bay if you follow my reviews. It's apparently almost impossible to find real pizza, so im just going with what I've got to work with. The thing I like about red apple is that it is what it is....and that's ok! While the pizza is acceptable it's far from great, it was a little mistimed, and the parmesan and peppers came in those cheap packets. Good news is I was eating pizza for $20 and satisfied. I didn't have to spend $30 for a hipster with a mustache and glasses to tell me his opinion about the food...However red apple needs more sauce and better quality cheese. This is our go-to local pizza operation. They're located just down the street on Washington in a tiny strip mall, and their delivery times are always really good. The pies themselves are tasty and the guy who takes the orders on the phone is very friendly. Reasonable prices seal the deal. We love Pizza Guys, but damn are they expensive! If you avoid it for religious reasons especially, come get an amazing meat lover pizza!!! This place is awesome. I recently moved from San Francisco to San Leandro and have been looking for a go-to pizza spot. I've tried several local places, but nothing beats this spot. Price is very inexpensive, ingredients are fresh and the service is always super friendly. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to chow down on some pizza. They don't have much of anything else on the menu besides the pizzas and the typical sides (breadsticks, chicken wings, etc) but I feel that's what makes this place so great.
