In the back, past packed fresh fruits and vegetables neatly organized and merchandised, is the restaurant. The restaurant has booths along the walls with tables down the middle. The ambiance is old, worn, and deep, with more than ample seating. We were here for lunch, and the service was quick and pleasant. The waitress was attentive and cheerful, but the restaurant was not busy. We ordered from the lunch menu, and my wife had hot and sour soup, fried rice with pecan chicken, and hot tea. I had the Mongolian Beef with the same side as my wife. The lunch special comes with egg rolls. The meal was filling and good. The lunch menu was ample with great dishes; the price was surprisingly low. The Taste of Asia is a hidden gem in an Asian market. We will be back to eat and shop. This is a very interesting concept for the Auburn and Opelika communities.

The broth should be creamy as a result of all the fat, collagen, and gelatin extracted by cooking pork bones for over a long period. Mizu Ramen is none of these things. It is a thin, watery dish devoid of flavor. Either the base of the soup was not cooked long enough, or they're cheaped out on the amount of bones used. I found myself pouring soy sauce into it just to make it somewhat salty. You don't even get a shaker of furikake or some vinegar for the table! While Mizu avoids a 1 star rating on account of the fact that it's not disgusting and the service isn't bad per se, I cannot recommend it as a much better ramen chain, UMAMI, is only 7 minutes away.

As far as what I usually get, I split appetizers and desserts with others, which is what I recommend since the meals are quite big. I recommend the fried spring rolls and fried tofu. Both are crisp to perfection and have great sauce pairings. There is no other spot in town that compares to this or their mango sticky rice. For the entrees, I usually get simple sweet and sour chicken, and it is great. I love their sauce, and I love having leftovers. I do wish their pricing was cheaper, but usually Thai food is more expensive here. I wish them the best.
