Spring rolls are amazing! Good pad thai, and pad thai woon sen, but my favorite is rama curry (peanut curry)!

Food: All of the fried dishes I had were flavorless, and the Jasmine Rice tasted strongly of acid and a vague chemical taste. Atmosphere: Great! This place looks great both inside and out. This is a cute little hole in the wall that has delicious good. Meals come with a coconut curry soup or dumplings which are both delicious. Coming from a place that has plenty of very good and authentic Thai food, I'll admit that I didn't have super high expectations for Thai food in Columbus, but I really enjoyed this! I had a Thai iced tea, a basil roll (split the order of 2 with my friend), and the sea scallops in panang curry. The food was all fresh and the curry was really flavourful, with a moderate amount of heat. The portions were really big - I was very hungry but still couldn't finish my curry. You could easily get two meals out of one entree even if you have a big appetite. The shrimp salad rolls came wrapped in plastic wrap, which I thought was weird, but otherwise the presentation was nice. A silly thing that I'm picky about is Thai iced tea being served with the milk and tea layered rather than mixed, so I was pleased that they made it this way here. The menu offers a large variety of Thai/American-Thai dishes, but is very lacking in vegetarian choices. I know lots of Thai dishes have incidental seafood ingredients like fish sauce, but I would think that they could easily make at least some of the dishes vegetarian by adding a tofu option for the protein. Our waitress was friendly and the right amount of attentive. One thing to be aware of is that you have to go up to the register to pay - we weren't aware of this at first and were waiting around for a while until we realized. read more

I met my cousin here on Thursday night for dinner. We started with an order of spring rolls, which were delightfully crispy and flavorful. For my entree, I had the Chicken Panang Curry. The place doesn't serve alcohol, so I just stuck with water, but it did look like Coke products were available. The curry was really excellent. The place was well lit and had an open floor plan. My family and I visited Chili Thai to celebrate our son. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Monday night and were pleased to see it was not yet crowded. Our server, Mondo, was SO great!! He was thoughtful, patient, informative, kind and attentive. He was funny and engaging - the kind of server that makes the experience so much better. We wanted Thai Tea but 2 of us have dairy allergies. We asked if they could use the coconut cream/ milk that that use in the curry. They were more than willing to accommodate us and the Thai Tea was delicious!! We were thrilled to finally be able to partake in a drink we love but haven't had in such a long time (10 years) because of our dairy allergy. Our order included: Spring rolls Green curry Pad Prik Rama Curry Mango Sticky Rice Everything was AMAZING!! The restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. We will definitely be back!! Nice interior and great location. I tried their Pad Thai Woon Sen (glass noodle) with beef. It was just okay. The beef is what got me as it was chewy, over cooked, and perhaps old? Not at all tender. I'm sure cutting the beef against the grain could have done wonders or maybe it was just poor quality meat. Also, they were all stuck together. No effort was used to break the sliced beef apart. Another issue was that one of the servers bussing a table dumped water from used glasses back into the carafe. We just hope their carafes are washed after each use. Their staff behind the counter could use a little brushing up on restaurant etiquette. One of them had her arm across the counter and laid her head down on it as she gazed across the room. Others were just being too loud. Lastly, they forgot our order of spring rolls which we had to walk up to the counter and remind them. The food, love and atmosphere just isn't the same. Food didn't have much flavor to it and I found myself putting spices on it to give it a taste. Didn't work out well. We were quickly seated and the servers are always pretty fast getting drinks and taking orders. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, however it seemed to take forever for the soup and appetizer to come out. Once the food came it was definitely worth the wait! * On the weekend, the dinner menu is the only option available. So no complementary soup or salad. * I started with a small coconut soup with chicken (the soup is larger than the lunch portion) and a half order of spring rolls. The coconut soup was REALLY GOOD and FLAVORFUL!! For some reason it's much better in the larger bowl. And it was hot!!! (Sometimes the soup comes out cold on really busy days) The spring rolls are always a hit. They're always crunchy and not over fried. Great starters! * For the entree I ordered Drunken Noodles with glass noodles, 1 chili, and beef. The glass noodles, instead of the regular noodles, are easier to eat and they hold the flavor better!! This is one of my favorite meals, and it did not disappoint. PLEASE KNOW: if you order take out they automatically add a 15% gratuity !! 1) the spring rolls were good. Probably could use longer in the fryer for a crisper shell but were still delightful. 2) Drunken noodles are spice level 2 of 3 (if you enjoy spice it's an okay amount needed more personally). It came with one spring roll. Three meat options to choose from but I requested an additional serving of vegetables instead (this was either missed or skimped on). I'm not certain of their recipe but the dish seemed to be missing an ingredient. It simply tasted like spicy oyster sauce. Seemed to be missing that fish sauce or soy sauce component to bring in the saltiness. The noodles clumped together already when i got the dish so they weren't freshly made just heated when added to the veggie stir fry. I did not order any appetizers today, so I went with the Pad Thai, with pork. You have a choice between soup, or a spring roll, and I went with the spring roll. My girlfriend got the pad Thai she loved it (me too) it was kind of sweet and buttery. The flavor was undeniable and when you squeeze that lime over it that really enhanced the taste. We just moved here to Columbus GA was looking for Asian food to try. I was disappointed with this place after I decided to try because of the 4 stars review! Chili Thai DO NOT deserve to even have one star!!! With that said my experience was not very pleasant, first they didn't have a Togo menu, the food was way overpriced and they charge 15% tip for Togo orders WHAT??? I can understand Dine-in but to go NO NOT A GOOD WAY TO KEEP CUSTOMERS! I ordered three main dishes and an appetizer guess what they forgot my appetizer!!!had I not checked my order in the car, we would have driven 20 minutes back home to find our order was missing an appetizer!!! The appetizer was spring rolls ( 4 little ones for almost $6.00) not worth it at all!!!) We order the drunken beef you mind as well call it drunken little veggie dish! Not to mention it was super salty! $13.00 for noodles with some veggies I don't think so! $20.00+ for a salmon dish with curry( salmon was small and hardly any veggies) way to costly! Pad Thai was the other dish we ordered $13.00 for again some noodles and little chicken! Too salty again! And the 15% tip which was about $9.00 for Togo No reason at all!
