Tikka masala so creamy and delicious

This place is amazing. We were in town visiting and came for lunch. We were the only people here surprisingly because, wow. The service from Alexis was excellent. The food took a minute but it's all made to order fresh and delicious. My husband got the tikka masala and I got the coconut curry with butter naan and beet salad that comes with the lunch. Everything was top tier for flavor. We have eaten at a lot of Indian places all over and this place is the in the top five.

Rosemary naan

First, the good. I did an online order, and the staff were all so friendly as I waited and apologetic when it took longer than expected. Its a beautiful restaurant, and had really lovely music playing. Now, the not so good. I am pretty disappointed in our meals tonight. We all got butter chicken. It appears they use thigh meat and not breast, so it was pretty fatty. It wasn't as flavorful as I have come to expect butter chicken to be. The naan was really under done. It wasn't busy inside but I think there were quite a few to-go orders like mine. I'd be willing to try it again, maybe eating inside to see if the quality is better, plus there are some interesting things on the menu that I'd like to try.

Incredible Food. Will be back soon. Cauliflower appetizer was fantastic, Samosa was pretty good, Cheese Haryali Kofta was the best part (amazing sauce, great vegetarian kofta), and naan was good too. Must go.

I love this place! Formerly known as Dishoom, Jhoomar is the go to for Indian Cuisine in Columbus. From the delicious drinks, garlic naan, all the way to the Lamb and Chicken Korma, you will go on a flavorful field trip from Mumbai to Columbus, GA.

It's more like a 3 1/2 rounded up to four. The space is beautiful and inviting. Our server was great and answered any questions we had about the menu. The areas that are lacking are: too expensive for what you get and the kitchen was slow. My group of 5 came in a Saturday for lunch. I was taken aback that they didn't have a lunch menu so it was more than I planned to spend for lunch. Most of the entrees were $20 and up. We ordered pretty quickly and didn't get our mains for another 35 mins or so, our small plates came out sooner. Overall, I enjoyed everything I ate. Check the pics below plus I tasted the cauliflower and garlic naan. I also enjoyed the chutneys with the (I thinks it's called papadum) at the beginning of the meal. They need thicker straws for the mango lassi. This is more upscale Indian dining, I usually stick to the more casual places but I may come here again if I'm in the area at dinner time.

We've eaten here twice so far now and everything was absolutely delicious and the service has been excellent! We will definitely be back again soon!

I have been wanting to try this place so I took myself for a birthday lunch. They have a lunch menu and I ordered from the pick your own sauce and protein section of the menu. I had saag paneer mild spice level. It was good and a good value for the price. It comes with naan, rice and soup/salad. The restaurant itself was very nice looking. The service however was a bit lacking. There was only one server for the tables who was also at the host stand and doing take out orders. There did appear to be a bartender at the bar but he was on his phone most of the time. There was one other what appeared to be server who seemed to just have one table but I later overheard him tell that table he was one of the 2 owners. He stood talking to that one table the entire time I was there and did not speak to any other table which might be understandable if they were regulars or old friends but as I could hear their entire conversation, they were just passing through town and happened to stop in. My waiter did a decent job was pulled in to many directions because as soon as he would try to clear a table either someone would walk in or the phone would ring or one of the tables needed something. The table beside me ended up walking up to the bar to ask for a drink menu because there was neither an alcohol menu or regular drink menu given to any of the tables which I find odd for a restaurant that does so much advertising around the bar. Overall it was not the first impression I was expecting given what I heard about this restaurant from others.

P E R F E C T I O N !!! I don't have a single complaint (except no liquor license which the owner says they will have in a few days). Please go eat here! You will not be disappointed!!!

Amazing food. Decent prices. Seriously some of the best Americany Indian food I have ever had. The cauliflower is ridiculous.

The menu is eclectic with just about something for everyone. All our food came out quickly. It was well prepared, fresh and everyone really enjoyed their food. There is a great drink selection and the service was excellent. The bar has roll up garage doors down one side that open up to an outdoor seating area with a variety of seating options. Decor is bright and cheerful. If I lived around here, Jarfly would be high up on my list as far as places to go relax drink and eat!

We (party of 2) were seated right near the front entrance in a highly visible location. Multiple staff members walked by us without even a greeting or a "we'll be right with you". We waited at least 10 mins and felt like we were almost deliberately being ignored. We eventually just got up and left and walked by 3 young ladies standing at the hostess station. Only then did someone speak to me when one young lady said "have a good day". I then expressed my frustration about not being greeted or even noticed. She seemed flabbergasted and seemed like she never knew we were there in the first place. Mind you, we were seated front and center. The food might be good but the service failed today.

So it's always first come, first serve and everytime I've tried to come here, it's a 30 min wait. It took about 15 min for the bartender to offer us menus and give us waters/ask for a drink. The drinks were delicious though, I had the Paper Plane. The food was also surprisingly good. Even though there wasn't enough chicken on the chicken Alfredo dish, the sauce was delicious and tasted great. The burger and sweet potato fries were also good. I think if I came back; it would be for the drinks and potentially the pasta. I would be open to trying other things on the menu.

Both my lunch date and I came from out of town after seeing so many great reviews and hearing how good the food was supposed to be. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, but let's get to the food... I ordered the blackened chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, there was NO FLAVOR. I even tried adding the salt and pepper from the table, and it still did not help the taste at all. My lunch date ordered the salmon, mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts, and unfortunately, their food was just as disappointing. What really surprised me was that after we finished eating, we met several people from the area who talked about how good the food was. We had also seen plenty of positive reviews before making the trip, so maybe we just caught them on an off day. I was disappointed to find out afterward that they have a Sunday brunch menu with a lot more options, including dishes like catfish and shrimp. Even a table of older ladies sitting beside us mentioned wishing they served cornbread--or any type of bread. There were no rolls, biscuits, cornbread...nothing. Personally, I think offering some of those Sunday menu options every day would make the menu much better. I was disappointed after driving over two hours to try this restaurant, but I am willing to give it another chance. However, my next visit will definitely have to be on a Sunday so I can experience more of what the menu has to offer. Everyone's experience is different, and this just happened to be ours.

They start by giving you a jug of water to refill your cups, which I do love, but it made the water taste like iron. Our waiter was great and attended to our table anytime we needed anything. We ended up trying a variety of items (mixed vegetable pakora, coconut chicken curry, garlic naan, tandoori roti, and a mango lassi). As far as the food, I did not really enjoy anything my wife chose. The pakora was not flavorful, and the roti was too dense and bland. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my food. Everything tasted amazing, and the lassi was such a treat. The food also came out very quickly and is a huge portion. Enough for two to three meals. Although I believed the restaurant seemed expensive at first, I truly think it is worth it, as this is the best indian resturant in town.

Upon arrival we were courteously received and invited to choose our own seating. We settled into a…read morecomfortable, well-kept booth. The dining room itself is largely tidy, though the walls show the occasional chip in the paint--an imperfect but far from distracting detail beside an otherwise pleasant table. Water arrived in a crystal carafe, poured into copper chalices: a thoughtful and attractive touch. Menus followed. As first-time visitors we would have welcomed photographic guidance; the absence of images left us momentarily at sea. Once we confessed our unfamiliarity, however, our server proved exemplary--patiently translating the offerings and clarifying the distinctions among dishes. That guidance was invaluable. The drink list itself is less successful. The type is small and faded, rendering it difficult to decipher. It offers the expected spectrum--signature cocktails, standard spirits, a handful of traditional Indian preparations, and the usual non-alcoholic options of Pepsi products and tea. We ordered a yogurt-based Indian beverage that proved, for our palates at least, thoroughly off-putting; we could not finish it. My unsweetened tea fared little better: thin, faintly skunky, and lacking the depth of a proper brew. One could see through the liquid in the glass--hardly the robust, dark infusion one hopes for. The shared starter, Shrimp 65, delivered more consistently. The shrimp were of respectable size and carried a lively, well-integrated spice mixture that flattered rather than obscured their natural flavor. A faint aftertaste of tired oil lingered once the initial spice bloom faded, yet the accompanying green chutney more than compensated. Complex, earthy, and intriguing, it played beautifully against the seasoned shrimp. Presentation was classically restrained: a simple bed of slaw and fresh herbs providing color and contrast without pretension. The Andhra Curry arrived next and proved the evening's most compelling discovery. Ordered on impulse for its promised heat, the dish revealed a far more nuanced character: layered spices that refuse to be isolated, a gentle creeping warmth rather than aggressive fire, and tender, moist chicken that retained its own flavor. Served with well-cooked rice, it is a plate I would order again without hesitation. Chicken Tikka Masala, by contrast, is the safer classic--and executed with quiet confidence. A rich, velvety sauce of genuine complexity cloaked generous pieces of chicken. Ordered mild, it carried little heat yet lost nothing in depth. Paired again with excellent rice, it remains an ideal introduction for the hesitant diner and another dish I would gladly revisit. Among the breads, the butter naan stood out: lightly crusted yet airy within, sturdy enough to scoop curry yet fragrant enough to enjoy alone. The subtle buttery finish elevates it further. The poori (or bhatura) offered a different pleasure--light, puffed, and faintly reminiscent of an unsweetened funnel cake. Its airy structure absorbs sauce beautifully while remaining crisp. The aloo paratha, stuffed with potato, proved denser and more ponderous. The texture is exactly as advertised, yet among the three it felt least complementary to the evening's selections and is the one I would be least inclined to reorder. In sum, the kitchen's strengths--particularly in the curries and the more successful breads--outweigh the occasional missteps in beverage and minor kitchen details. For a first encounter with the cuisine, the experience was both instructive and, in its best moments, genuinely rewarding.
