When I travel, I like to have Asian my first night out. It can be Korean and it can be Vietnamese…read more It can be Chinese. It can be Japanese, a nice Thai place every once in a while. Tonight I went with a very nice poke at the very chill and sanitary POKEMEN. This place has all of the ambience of an ice cream parlor. It's very stripped down very minimalist in it style. It is in a small strip center that appears to be populated mostly by finance companies and staffing agencies. It is a nice part of town, but not the best part of town. There is a nailed place and a Chiropractor I think. Let's get to the main event. The poke is awesome. I use brown rice as a base and then went with spicy tuna. I went large so I got four scoops of fish and let me tell you this was some really good poke. I added cucumbers, onions cilantro , pineapple, so mine had a really sweet flavor to it and I also had them put some tempura crunchy over the top of it. It was in my opinion the best bowl of poke I have ever had. That is saying something as I have had tuna poke all over the southeast And the West Coast and up the Atlantic seaboard. It is one of my favorite dishes. I think the fact that everything was ice cold, and the place was incredibly sanitary, added to my enjoyment. All of the vegetables were fresh. All of the fruit was cold. The fish was cold. The rice was the right consistency. Nothing was dried out, nothing was wilted, and everything tasted as it should. There were a lot of young people coming in having dinner, it's near an anytime fitness center so you do get to see a lot of fit young people that are enjoying a good healthy meal. They also have Ramen, it's a spicy Korean Ramen, which I wanted to have a small bowl of, but it only comes in one size bowl. It's not a huge, but it was more than I needed after having a large poke. I would go back again and again, this is my third trip to this restaurant in the last two years, I think it's a good place and I recommended.

Confused what the strange taste in the water/ice is. Bowls tasted OK, restrooms were fairly clean. But we left....confused.

Restaurant-style Japanese ramen is a very different creature than the dried stuff you get for…read more30¢/pack and boil at home. Unfortunately, Mizu Ramen resembles the latter. Tonkotsu ramen's basic flavor profile is fat, salt, and (in the case of black tonkotsu) garlic. It is an incredibly rich, salty, and filling dish. The broth should be creamy as a result of all the fat, collagen, and gelatin extracted by cooking pork bones for over a long period. Mizu Ramen is none of these things. It is a thin, watery dish devoid of flavor. Either the base of the soup was not cooked long enough, or they're cheaped out on the amount of bones used. I found myself pouring soy sauce into it just to make it somewhat salty. You don't even get a shaker of furikake or some vinegar for the table! While Mizu avoids a 1 star rating on account of the fact that it's not disgusting and the service isn't bad per se, I cannot recommend it as a much better ramen chain, UMAMI, is only 7 minutes away.

Told in guess about 25 minutes to get two hibachi meals. One salmon and one steak and shrimp came to be about $53. Inside was pretty when you came in.

I ordered the NY steak and chicken dinner and it was pretty good. The rice was a bit dryer than I like but it wasn't too bad. The sushi menu was extensive with so many great options to choose from. The host greeted us quickly, sat us, and we got our drink orders pretty immediately I ordered an eel roll because when I asked the waiter about the raw sushi rolls that are wrapped in radish/cucumber rather than rice and seaweed he said it was only a special roll? Whatever that means I also ordered shrimp hibachi dinner while my husband ordered the NY strip dinner. We decided to dine in rather than sit around the hibachi area The restaurant was beautiful inside, high ceilings, clean, and modern with bar seating and sushi bar seating When I got the eel roll, the first thing I noticed was how there was barely any eel in there compared to other sushi restaurants I've been to (which has been all over the states). But it did taste pretty fresh so next time I'll dine in just for sushi and will update my review The hibachi dinner was great. It wasn't super salty like other hibachi restaurants. I felt like my husband's steak was a bit over cooked but he enjoyed his meal Besides the skimping out on eel, the only problem I had was waiting longer than usual for our hibachi dinner to come out. I was expecting our food to be nice and hot but it was actually partially cold like it was sitting in the back for a bit We were starving so at this point we were scarfing our food down. I will be back for more sushi and to try their noodle dish!

We didn't really expect much in a college town but it turned out to be pretty legit. Banchan - really good. Love the fish cakes. We asked for more but they said they ran out. So they never came back to our table again, not even to refill our tea and water cups after that. Stew: I think it is called Gopchang Changol or something like that. It usually got beef tripes, tofu, veggies, something, then intestines. This one got tofu and lots of intestines, flavored was good but way too much intestines, I like a mixed of stuffs. We always get udon in a stew, not this place. Not what I was expected. Big portion though so we took the leftovers, grabbed some tofu from Walmart and udon, and made another batch the next day.
